Great Stone Plover or Great Thick-knee

Burhinus recurvirostris




Singly or in pairs on the river banks. Appears to be more commonly seen in winter, but that is probably due to one taking more walks by the river in that season. Once I saw a tern chasing a Great Stone Plover at top speed.
