Recurvirostra avosetta
In Kanpur, seen occasionally on the
Ganga, at the village of Bithoor. In Allahabad, a couple of solitary sightings
near the sangam, and then a group of about a dozen in early May 2000, near
flocks of Lesser Whistling Teals and Ruddy Shelducks. Below is a photo from that
day.
