Introduction

"Gorecki Families of Wieruszowa coat of arms" makes up the third part of the work dedicated to reproducing the genealogy and description of Gulinski, Niewodowski and G�recki families, those related to my family. The work presented below is being updated as new information become available.


Gorecki Families of Wieruszowa coat of arms

Goreckis of � Wieruszowa coat of arms came from the Wielun region in Poznan Province (The Poznan Province Coat of arm is shown beside). Roch from Wielkopolska, who was mentioned in sources from 1575 (1, 2), may be considered as a progenitor of this family. Another, Maciej Gorecki, a Poznan standard - bearer from the year 1600 was mentioned by Borkowski and Niesiecki (3,4). Piotr elected King Wladyslaw IV in 1632 (5). Also, Waclaw elected King John Casimir in 1648 (5). Paprocki presents Gorecki Mateusz, who was a Poznan standard - bearer and a battle historian (6). Boleslaw, lieutenant-colonel of the Royal Guard received in 1720 village Biala in the Wielun region. (7)

Zygmunt, Kazimierz and Janina were children of � Pawel Gorecki. Pawel's father came from Cracow district. In 1848 he fought under gen. Bem in Hungary (8). At the age of 51 he together with his son, Zygmunt fought until the end of WWI in the Pilsudski Legions. Zygmunt b. 3.V.1891 r. married Stefania Indyka b. 15.XI.1908, (died in 12.VI.1997 in Darlowo). They had one son named Zbyslaw, b. 26.IV.1926 r. in Boleslaw near Olkusz, who was a writer (9) and a cultural activist in Darlowo. Zygmunt was a volunteer in the Polish Forces in 1920-1921 during the Polish-Russian war. After 1945 he settled down in Trabki Wielkie near Gdansk, where until the end of his life (9.IX.1962) he was a principal in an elementary school.
