The chapters are named after fruit and vegetables because when Esperanza is telling Abuelita about what has happened she doesn't use real seasons she uses when the different fruits are harvested.I think this story is very good.

every chapter is named after a fruit in each chapter it talks about the fruit of the chapter .thee beggining chapter"grapes" and the end chapter are different in so many ways here are some of them 1 esperanza is rich and has never known what other to do then have servant and not do any thing without someone else in the last chapter it has been a year and i n that year she has expeirenced work she had to pick fruit and do what her servants had to do she learned to cook clean take care of the babies also in the begginingher fauther dies so she is so sad about that and thenshe has to go through a lot of hard times mostly when her mother got valley fever it was really hard on her because her mother had to go to the hospital and she could only visit on weekends and her abulita was still in mexico so she tried to finsh chrocheing the valleys and the mountains the valleys stood for the bad times and when she made a mountain it stood for the good times or when life got better Iwould totally reccomend this book to anyone going through montains and valleys but that would be every one life is like that blanket with valleys and mountains
