| I'm from a small town near Indianapolis. So close to the city, yet so far from everything. Because I had nothing better to do, I started reading. I read a lot. Mostly science fiction. I own nearly every Star Wars book, and have read all of the books in the main timeline (I've read a few that contradict the timeline and they make me really mad so I don't read them anymore) Basicly, I have no life. But I'm happy with it. I watch a lot of sci-fi shows, I watch Star Trek, not so much the original series, but I like Next Gen, and DS9 a lot and I'm starting to get into Voyager. I LOVE Babylon 5 and I finally got to see the rest of the series. I also like Farscape a great deal. Ironicly enough purdue finally gets the sci-fi channel and farscape and Babylon 5 are not on anymore! NO! Since coming to Purdue I have had my first role-playing experience. It's alot of fun. First semester I played in a D&D campaign were we basicly became God's it was fun but there were to many people playing so there was a lot of out of character infighting and combat took forever. That campagin ended at the end of the semester. I have been playing Adventure Quest (AQ)for a little over a year now and I enjoy it very much. I have 3 characters: Mara, my first character and Nuamarthiel, the character I made because Mara has a concious and can't go on the fun adventures where you burn down a town and then loot it as a distraction for a larger mission (he he he). My newest is a priest of Ra who is 3 times cursed in just two adventures. To fill the time slot left by D&D I play Ironclaw, perhaps I should have gotten a life but meh.. It's fun and here's a link to my character Mother Tara and a synopsis of the adventure. It has some inside jokes but it's still funny. I am the Secretary of the Purdue Sci-fi club. The members of the sci-fi club, my Ironclaw game, and my AQ group have some overlap so there is a core group of strange people on campus, we're the ones your mother warned you about. I've become a GM for AQ. It was worth it just to see the look of horror on Sean's face when he saw me training with Preston. I've got some interesting plans. I'm also a member of the Companion's grove LARP group. We meet once a week to play our characters and beat on each other with foam swords. It's a lot of fun. |
