| (Vespis)As the highest official we�ve had the honor of being able to speak with about the war, Admiral, would you mind giving a brief overview of the war for our readers? A Leader�s point of view is especially valued. (Leske) As far as we can determine, there are currently 2 major factions in this war, outside of the Glorious Empire. Our intel has told us that one force is called the Neriman Defence Initiative, along with their various allies, and then another race going by 'Chaos'. As it stands it seems Chaos are dominant on the ground, while the NDI has control of the skies. the purpose for the fighting has become so twisted and lost we don't think anyone is even sure anymore... (Vespis) What are the major sides, and how do they stand in relation to the Vionians? (Leske) As we have stated the two sides seem to be the NDI, and their allies, against the Chaos. the Empire has no relation to these Chaos, and knows little about them. However we will not let them hinder any of our efforts if they attempt to do so. As for the Nerimians, we tried to open a discorse with them, however we were ignored, and have just a few hours ago launched an offensive on every front against the NDI. (Vespis) What is the Vionian stake in Ayenee? Especially considering that they�ve had little or no interest in it for as long as this reporter can remember? (Leske) The Vionian Empire's stake in this galaxy is two parts. The first part I'm afraid is classified, and therefor I can not inform you, however we are also interested in adding territory to the empire, and bringing the stability and prosperity of the Empire to this region. (Vespis) What measures are being taken to minimize civilian casualities? Both in regards to life and property? (Leske) We in command of the forces in this region are sure that we have not destroyed any civilian targets in this region. Those that have looked civilian we are quite sure were actualy just disguised military units. We have all the proof to back this up as well. (Vespis) What�s the feeling about this war back home? Would you mind a representative of The Shadowed Corner polling your civilians? (Leske) The Expedition into this region is fully supported back home. Vionians do not have civilians as you would understand it...all Vionians are in the military in some form. All the labor, science and mercentile Interests are taken care of by other, willing, races. (Vespis) Where exactly is Viona in comparison to Ayenee? (Leske) The Vionian Empire is in the spiral galaxy to the universal north. We have brought the peace and prosperity of the Empire to that galaxy, and are merely extending our hand to the others currently. (Vespis) Any Common citizen of Ayenee can see the destruction already wrought by the massive forces already dueling within the lands of Ayenee, how can you tell us that the Vionian forces won�t be more of the same? (Leske) You are currently seeing the forces of two barbaric, uncivilized forces fighting each other brutaly with no regard to what damage they do. They have no honor in their fighting. The Vionian Empire is of course, a civilized nation. Which will only fight honorably. Our record shows this. (Vespis) When is your best estimation of when this ordeal will be over? (Leske) We believe that the constant fighting inside ayenee itself should be over within a few months. |
| Covering the war The Shaodwed Corner is proud to report a slew of updates on the Chaos War, Firstly, an exclusive interview with the leader of the (sadly, now defunct) Vionian Empire. His views on the war are but a beginning in what we hope will turn into a string of interviews with all major forces involved with the war. As the current standings go, on the ground, the main battlefields, Coral City, and the surrounding Black Diamond Mountains, have reportedly been reduced to rubble. No civilian communications have come out from Coral City since the assaults began, and civilian casualities are presumed to be in excess of 90%. In addition, the Black Diamond Mountains in that area, a natural monument to the glory of Ayenee, and reportedly a nesting ground for several types of Dragon, have been reduced to a hill of rubble in some areas by the vastly powerful munitions unleashed by Chaos and NDI. Both these forces will likely have a problem on their hands when these Dragons come back to mate, and find their previously comfortable caves ruined. In the skies, the NDI blockade continues, reportedly having fended off several forces who�s actual purpose is to HELP in the War against Chaos, it�s unknown why the NDI has assaulted potential allies, or, for the record, even if they have, but the evidence at present appears damning. The only native forces in this fight seem to be a fleet of wooden space ships, propelled by �spelljamming� � with no discernable leader that this reporter has been able to contact, and the ScepteredBlackClaw corporation, which has a presence in the air, currently engaged in a standoff with the spelljamming ships, and on the ground, opposing the Chaos Forces. | NDI's been given a bad Rap recently, being blamed for unneeded deaths, invading us the same way as Chaos has, but that's obviously not the case. If it weren't for the NDI, we would have been conquored by now, and who knows what Chaos would be doing to all of us? - Nyrian Greenleaf What does Chaos want? | I would like to see move public knowledge released about the War, I've got family in Coral City, but I haven't heard ANYTHING from them since the War began! | The Lumination Browsing the Taverns of Ayenee, as I often do, I was plesantly surprised by my trip to a somewhat new building on the Scene called "The Lumination" - Not only is it staffed with a serving wench and several tenders, more than one at times, which is rare enough in Ayenee, the Tavern provided a good deal of security staff, and excellent food and drink. Tavern-goers beware that The Lumination's superior service comes with a cost, it being one of the precious few Tavern's I've encountered in Ayenee which actually take money for their services. It is however, worth it. There is a mixed bad side to the Tavern, it's prestige apparently attracts undesireables intent on destroying either it, or it's owners for various reasons. The security provided by the Tavern usually results in a short, though vicious fight where innocent bystanders might stand a chance of becomming injured. On the other hand, when one is not being injured, this IS a major source of entertainment for the patrons, I'm told bets are taken by most members of the Tavern Staff.
