Sarah McLachlan
Of course, my first dedication has to be for Sarah McLachlan! She is by far my favorite! Born in Halifax NS. Canada, Jan. 28, 1968, Sarah McLachlan was a natural born musician. After growing out of the ukelele, she went on to learn classical guitar, and classical piano, as well as classical vocal at the Halifax School of Design. She was discovered by Nettwerk as the lead singer in a local new wave band "October Game." She later signed on and made her first album "Touch"(10/26/88). Next came "Solace"(6/28/91) followed by "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy"(10/22/93)."The Freedom Sessions"(6/12/94) was a EP of her best selling album FTE containing live studio tracks of selected songs. "Rarities, B-Sides, and Other Stuff"(?/?/96)which contained her covers of other people's songs such as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell and different versions of her other songs. In 97, Sarah relased and brand new, full length CD, "SurfacingWhich won her 4 Juno's. In the summer of 1999, "Mirrorball", a live album of her 1998 Surfacing tour was relased. Sarah McLachlan is also the founder and creator of the famous all-girl concert, "Lilith Fair! Lilith Fair toured in many provinces and states in the summers of 97, 98, and 99. Right now, she says she is taking a long needed break.
