Sire:

WIDUKIND is a registered Hanoverian stallion bred in Germany and imported to Canada as a

yearling. At the 1993 CSHA inspection he received outstanding marks for conformation,

temperament, and movement. A severe injury as a yearling has limited his career as a riding horse, but

had little impact on his development as one of the premier breeding stallions in this area. His sire,

WERTHER, was 1992 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year and has produced many international jumping

and dressage horses such as WILLY THE GREAT - USA Grand Prix dressage champion - and

WESTERLAND, both ridden by Hilda Gurney. He also sired WERRA - international jumper ridden

by Nick Skelton. WIDUKIND's dam comes from one of the best mare families in German

warmblood breeding (state stud WENDELIN, jumping horses WELL DONE, WINGST, WIM and

WAIKIKI).

Dam:

CHANCES ARE is by LANDSCAPE PAGE. She excelled in 3-day eventing with both lovely

movement and great jumping ability. Her temperament and conformation are also superb.

Notes:

WINKEN is a handsome 4 year old bay Hanoverian / TB gelding standing 16.2hh. He is CSHA

Identified. He was professionally started in May 1997 and has had additional training since on the flat

and over fences. He shows great potential for both dressage and jumping with very nice movement

and tremendous athletic ability. He is extremely gentle with a very willing attitude. He also has very

nice conformation and good bone.
