Arctic Cat will release a very limited number of special edition sleds t commemorate the turn of the century. Only 999 powder special 600 2Ks and 700 ZR 600 2Ks will be available for the purchase. The sled with the 0001 serial number will be pulled off the line and held for a special drawing for Arctic Cat 2K customers.

The 2K sleds will feature all new paint technology, called Millennium Thunder Flair. The color shifts from an emerald green to a purple color with different tones between, as the viewing angle changes so does the color. The 599cc liquid-cooled Suzuki twin motor is said to crank out 5% more horsepower due to Cats new 3-D ignition system and new exhaust system. These new sleds are both fed by two 38mm Mikuni flat slide carbs and will come with a hungery 13 gallon fuel tank which is way better than the original 10.5 Gs.

For the most part this sled is as great as the 99 model but with cool paint and about 5 more horse. The greatest change is the price... Arctic Cat managers have been allotted a small number of these sleds to distrbute to dealers in their specific regions. The ZR 600 2K is priced at $7,200 (US), and the Powder Special 600 2K is listed at $7,300.
