...Today We observed birds at:
Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve
sunny ~ 72�~ 2-3 mph wind
- Common Egret
- Barrow's Goldeneye
- American Avocet
- Belted Kingfisher
... yeah that's right~a big white bird~like a blue heron.
We also saw common Goldeneye's.
The Avocet was in front of a sign with it's picture on it...
We saw the Kingfisher from across a pond, but got a good look at it.
These are fairly common out here,(for this time of year) but still the first time I've identified them.
... All the ducks seem to be in different ponds.
Mallards in one, Shovelers in another, Buffleheads,
Stiff tails, Mergansers, common, cinnamon, greenwinged Teals; all in seperate ponds.
Coots,Grebes, and Redheads mixed in.
