... We couldn't stand it any more! It had been 2 years since Thea & I took a road trip.So it's an early Christmas in the West and we got a Rent-a-Car ~ 1999 Grand Am (81 miles on it) power everything. It was Cool! Really Nice 2 door. I think it was grey-blue? Thea knows.
We saw 20 Chukar the first morning on the way out of Death Valley.
When we got to Mono Lake we saw the Magpie. We'd been seeing Ravens, Blackbirds & Red-Winged Hawks all morning on US 395. The Rough-Legged Hawk was on a windmill on the way north.
Lots of driving not so many birds.
We were busy enjoy the scenery. There was 5 feet of snow at Kirkwood Ski Lodge and Stellar's Jays!
It got dark when we came out of the mountains on SR 88.
