I was sanding a stick on my patio when I saw a bird, so I turned around and there where 11 Western Meadowlark's sitting on the roof next door!
So an hour before sunset Thea and I drive to Red Springs on Calico Basin road (5 miles from home).
No new birds spotted there.
But we did see :
- Sparrows ~ they come in just before dark.
- Starlings ~ fly through-rest on trees.
- Red-Naped Sapsucker ~ lives at first picnic area.
- Phainopepla ~ male & female at the big oak in the back.
- Bell's Vireo ~ he flitters around back there also.
- Scrub Jays ~ alot flew over the hill.
- Pigeons ~ always see them at the horse corrals.
- Rufous-sided Towhee ~ just as we started to leave.
