I once was a little fish swishing water
among my family and friends.
But one day I got stuck in the seaweed
and was left there all alone.
I tried so hard to untangle myself with all my strength.
Yes, I used what little power I had to set myself free,
but I wasn't released !
I brought the power of my body to the top,
and pushed myself forward,
but the seaweed would never let me go!
How miserable I felt;
not an inch of my efforts was rewarded!
How many years have gone by
living with such knots and tangles of life ?
I'm now an adult fish in size,
though I 'm here still stranded in the same old place.
I swam and swam and swam and swam,
but how far did I reach ?
Do my friends still remember me?
Will I ever meet them again?
One day I finally ripped through the weed
in my usual efforts to go forward.
But on the momentum was I slammed so badly
against something hard instead.
There stands a tall and thick wall blocking my passage,
and there's no way out of here.
At last I found a hole in the wall
just the size of a little fish.
I reached back in my mind,
the memory came back to me;
"I came through this hole! Oh, my god!
I'm a full-grown fish now."
Out of the frying pan into the fire.
Now I have another challenge.
Do I have a long way to go?
