First Emperor’s Follies to Benefit AVOL
Emperor's Follies, a benefit at Vertigo, will
be held Saturday, September 13th. The event will benefit AVOL (AIDS Volunteers),
and present a star-studded cast of some of Lexington's finest female
impersonators. Included in the show cast is Miss Gay Lexington, Imperial
Crown Princess 13, Tracy Taylor. Tracy is one
of the Court's premier performers, and was showcased in the Court's
recent entry in Lexington's Fourth of July Parade.
She's been active with the Court's fund-raising activities for many
years, and has performed across the United States & Canada. Also on
the marquee is Empress 6, Twyla Knight.
Twyla has spent the past month entertaining audiences in Fort Worth, Connecticut
& Rhode Island. Viscountess 16, Randi Layne, Tiffany
Andrews, Lauren Wells, and some surpise guests will also be performing.
Vertigo was voted best gay/lesbian nightclub/dance bar, by the readers
of ACE Magazine. Vertigo has also been chosen to be The Emperor's Palace
for Reign 16. Look for future court events at Vertigo, the second
Saturday of every month.

Marlena Page is
Closet Queen 16
Amid the largest field of contestants (10) for any Kentucky Closet Ball,
Marlena Page broke through tough competition to be crowned Closet Queen
16. Sponsored by Imperial Crown Princess 13 & 15 1/2 Tracy
Taylor, Marlena's stage presence wowed the judges and the crowd, alike.
She will proudly wear her tiara for a year; until Closet Ball 17.
Empress 15 Natalie Gaye, Co-Founder
of the Court Marlon Austin & Imperial Princess Royale 16 Mika Milano
emceed the show. It seemed like a record-breaking crowd, as the Johnny
Angel's Showroom at The Bar Complex was filled completely, with standing
room only for the entire night.
We raised over $1200.00 during the evening, for the designated
charities of the Royal Sovereign Imperial Court of All Kentucky, with over
$500.00 directly earmarked to go to the Fayette County AIDS Medication
Fund.

Toga Toga TOGA!!!
Congrats to Kentucky's newly crowned King & Queen of the Toga: Imperial
Princess Royale 16 Mika Milano, and Duke 16 Jeff Jones. The Crowning was
held at Crossings last month. Mika arrived in a lovely teal toga-wrap,
that actually looked more like a cocktail dress than a toga. She wore matching
blue hose and blue pumps. Jeff Jones appeared in his newly purchased
Hawaiian Sarong & matching blue toga. Empress 16 Chanda
Lier had a lovely silver beaded toga, ivy headdress and her Empresses
Crown. She made quite the picture as she shot pool with fellow Court members.
You see .... this is just NOT the sort of thing you see in Crossings.

Louisville Barony Planned
The Royal Sovereign Imperial Court of All Kentucky is proud to announce
that it is working with Empress 1 Jose, The Widow Norton, to activate a
Barony in the city of Louisville. David Williams has been appointed
Baron 1, and Mother has been appointed Baroness 1. The Louisville
Barony has the support of the 11 gay bars in the city, as well as most
of the city's female impersonators. They have made the Town Cafe their
"Home Bar”.
Until the Barony receives the blessing of Empress 1 Jose, it will continue
to operate as an "extension" of our Court, in Louisville. After receiving
the blessing from Jose, the Court will cede Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby,
Spencer, Bullitt & Hardin Counties to the Barony of Louisville. Meetings
are held every Sunday, at 3pm, at The Town Cafe. For more information,
call Baroness 1 Mother at (502) 635-2934.

Twyla’s Tour of Texas
Empress VI, Twyla Knight was picked up in style
from the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport in Donna Dumae’s luxury Southern Baptist
car in the middle of the Texas July heat. Empresses Knight and Dumae spent
a leisurely evening touring Dallas (including the famous ‘grassy knoll’).
The next evening three motor coach busses full of drag queens toured the
bars of Ft. Worth/Arlington. Ms. Tiffany Renee’ served as the flight
attendant on the bus – telling the dirt on the intercom system and shouting
words that we Kentucky southern Christian women don’t repeat.
The “Burning of Atlanta” Coronation itself was wonderful and made a
southern girl feel right at home. Monarchs from all over Texas were
in attendance. Emperor Tyrone (of Corpus Christi) and Twyla were
proud to walk as Crown Prince and Princess of the stockyards. Empress
Cory and Emperor Dougie looked as if they stepped right out of General
Sherman’s blazing Atlanta when smoke and fire rose from their 2nd set costumes.
At the victory brunch Emperor Ray of Cincinnati and Twyla were deemed
the most vivacious and lively monarchs present that weekend. Little
did they know their victory prize consisted of drinking some horrid alcohol
mix soaked in underwear once worn by Emperor Stan of Colorado Springs.
We look forward to the renewal of friendship between the Kingdoms of Texas
and Kentucky.
