I enter a bar....Wrong choice...I get mobbed by adoring fans.... I didn't tell you??I'm a member of an all-guy rock band...'The Terra's.' My name is Malachite Johnson. The girls in the bar catch sight of me and run towards me...crowding me, can't a man get a moments peace??The others are lucky... Why??Because they've got their girlfriends...I'm the lonely one...Life sucks sometimes... Later... I leave the bar about an hour later...too much stifling pressure from the mob...why can't they just leave me the hell alone??? Great...it's just not my day....it just had to rain didn't it???Bloody hell weather... I walk towards the park...it's raining now...maybe I can get some peace and quiet there... I reached the park and head for the gazebo... Rain trickles down my face....the cold creeping into my bones....I ignore it....maybe I'll get pneumonia...if I'm lucky... "Sir?" A voice breaks me from my thoughts... "Sir??You're going to get a nasty cold that way..." I look up to see a young woman with an umbrella...she had long blond hair with clear blue eyes. I stare up at her face in puzzlement...she merely smiles at me.... "Why don't you come with me??You have to out of those wet clothes... otherwise,you'll catch a nasty cold..."she says warmly. I nod numbly... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Awhile later.... I enter a small clean apartment... "Whew...thank goodness we got out of the rain...it's gotten heavier!!" exclaimed the young woman. "Thank you.."I whisper. She smiles back at me..."No problem...I think you should take a bath and get out of those wet clothes..."she says. I chuckle.."But what can I wear after that??" She merely smiles.."Don't worry,..just push your wet clothes outside the door and call when you're finished..."she said lightly. "My name is Mina Halls."said the young woman. "Glad to meet you...I'm Malachite Johnson."I reply...wonderful..she'll probably sreech and ask for my autograph... "Nice to meet you...Mr.Johnson."said Mina walking away towards what I suppose is her kitchen....not the reaction I expected. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even later.... "Thanks for drying my clothes Ms.Halls."I told her. She merely smiled."Please,call me Mina,and it was nothing..."she replied. "Coffee?"she asked. "Please..."I told her. Soon,I was sipping on a cup of warm coffee...better than those beers I drank... "So,Mr.Johnson...,"she began. "Malachite."I corrected. "Malachite..."she blushed."You're one of the Terra's,correct??"she asked. "Yes.."I reply. "I thought you looked familliar...one of my friend's is an absolute freak over your group."she laughed slightly. "And you??"I ask. "Huh?"she asked looking up with a slight blush. "Are you one of our fans??"I asked her again. She smiled slightly and shook her head..."I don't really pay attention to rock music and their bands.."she admitted. "Well...it's a pleasant change of pace...."I told her grinning. She looks at me,bewildered. I chuckle at her expression..."Oh,what I meant is that usually everywhere we go,we get mobbed...I believe you're the first person who doesn't give a care of who I am..."I told her. "And that pleases you?"she asked puzzled. "Well..the first person I can remember that hasn't mobbed me.."I chuckled. I stared out the window...the storm was still going strong and the phone lines were dead...no way to tell the guys where I was... "Well,I guess...I don't know the ways of the world you famous people live in."she giggled. I smile slightly...for some reason,Mina Halls intrigued me... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next morning... "Hello??Malachite!!Where have you been all night??We were worried about you when the storm came!!"cried a dark haired man into a telephone. I chuckled at my friend through the telephone.."Calm down Dare,I spent the night at a...friend's...place and the phone lines were down."I told my friend. "Well,where are you??I'll tell Jaqués to pick you up!!"said the voice. I gave a laugh.."No need to be so frantic Dare.."I told him. "Not be frantic???Your sister didn't sleep all night last night worrying about you!!!"shouted the voice. "Now that's silly of her.Why'd she go and worry about me???"I asked. "Because you're her elder brother remember??She and your brother don't have anyone else other than themselves and you."said the voice. "You really like Serena don't you??"I asked my friend. I heard a sigh on the phone..."Guess I got touchy,huh?" I laughed."You sure did...No,I'll walk back Darien..no need to send a brigade out for me." Darien Terra merely scoffed through the phone..."Get your sorry butt back here before you make your sister cry and make me pound you."he joked. "Aye aye captain."I joked,getting a laugh from him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Thanks for letting me use the phone Mina."I told her. She smiled."Think nothing of it."said Mina warmly. "Well,I have to get back home...I guess I'll see you around.."I told her. "Maybe....but you know your own schedule Malachite.Oh,before you leave, maybe you could give me your autograph?"she asked. I raised an eyebrow."You??I thought you didn't care for rock groups."I asked her. "I don't...it's for my friend."she smiled. I grinned....a smile creeping on my lips as a devilish idea creeped into my mind... "I've got a better idea..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later.. I walked down the street to the Terra mansion...I chuckled thinking about my idea... ~FLASHBACK~ "What's that?"she asked. "I give you my autograph,but I want a picture of us standing together.." I chuckled. Mina blushed..."Whatever for??"she asked. "So I can remember you and get your friend into an envy."I laughed."And here are two tickets to our latest concert...I hope to see you there Mina." "Oh.."she said blushing. ~END FLASHBACK~ I walk into the mansion...the next I know,a body slams into me... "Malachite!!!" "Serena..I'm fine see??Now will you kindly release me before I suffocate?" I asked my little sister... Okay,so maybe not so little...so she's two years younger than me... Welcome to where I live..... The Terra mansion...home to the rock group,The Terra's... Darien Terra,band leader... Nephrite Thompson,third guitarist, Zoycite Aison,plays the keyboard, Jadeite Johnson,my little brother,the drummer, And me,Malachite Johnson,second guitarist.. Happy place huh?? Living with us,is our agent and manger,Andrew Williams and Rita Dobson. Also,Serena Johnson,my little sister...caught the eye of Darien she did... the sly wench.Lita Aison,tall and scary...but she cooks divinely. Rayena Thompson,but she prefers to be called Raye.And Darien's own little sister,Amy Terra...petite and shy...a total opposite of her older brother... Back to reality... "Where were you all night??"asked Serena looking up at me with her tearful eyes. "I was just...out thinking sis."I told her stroking her hair. "So...who's the friend you stayed with last night??"asked Darien. "Okay so,all the equiptment checked??"asked Darien...my mind seemed to be elsewhere tonight... "Hey Mal!!Bro,you alright??"ask my younger brother,waving his drumsticks in front of my face. "Huh??I'm fine."I replied waving his hand away. "Alright,lets get the show on the road!!!"said Nephrite enthusiastically. We were ushered onto the stage....the spotlights came on...silence... Then,the screaming began. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2 hours later.... "Whew...what a crowd tonight,huh Dare??"asked Jadeite. Darien nodded and drank more water. Suddenly,a loud sound startled our ears.....pounding...great..it was the crazy fans... Zoycite jumped up and reached for the phone and shouted a few sentences into the phone. We could hear screaming outside...or um...more like screeching. After 40 minutes of pounding on the door...the guards managed to usher everyone out of the backstage. I groaned...how much more of this pressure could I take???Nobody ever saw me as a human anymore...only an idol..what I wouldn't give to just disappear without a trace from all the stardom. Even later.... The five of us waited on the kerb in long trench coats covering our faces. A limo then drove up and my friends and I entered the warm limo... The wind was really cold tonight... Inside the limo,we were greeted by Serena and Raye,Darien's sister... Jadeite's face lighted up at the sight of Raye as the same reaction to Darien... Ah..love...what wonders it can do... I peered out the tinted window...feeling lonely again..my serious and demure expression returned to my face... But then,something caught my eye...I didn't just see Mina Halls walking miserably out in this cold weather did I?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Stop the car!!"I told the driver. Promptly,the limo stopped.I got out.My sibblings and friends wearing bewildered looks... I saw the figure walk towards the park... When I reached,I saw,Mina Halls standing on a wooden bridge,overlooking a small stream... I walked up beside her...she didn't notice me... "What's wrong?"I asked breaking he thoughts. "Oh!!Malachite!!"she exclaimed. "You look pretty down.."I told her."I didn't see you in the front row seats I gave you..." "Oh...I gave it to my friends...I didn't feel like going...my friend urged me to go...she really did...except...."she said letting her voice trail off. "Tell me Mina...what bothers you??"I asked. A tear ran down her face...her eyes staring at nothing.. "I-I...I got dumped.."she blurted.Tears streaming down her face. I stared at her sadly...watching her cry really broke my heart...wait a minute!!Since when did I become a softy?? I gathered her shaking form into my arms...she cried softly on my shoulder letting the flood of emotions take her.. I felt bad for her...the idiot who dumped her was probably blind. She cried a good long while... "Hey...Mina...the guy doesn't deserve you."I comforted her. "B-But...I-I loved him so much.."she said in hiccups. "Well...I wouldn't know about that...but I know one thing..if you cry anymore,those tears are going to freeze right there on your face."I joked. She gave a small smile...at least it was a start.. She began to shiver...watching this I took off my coat and placed it on her shoulders.. "You'll get sick standing out here like this.."I told her sternly. "W-What about you??"she asked hesitantly. "Don't worry about me."I told her in a calm voice. She stood motionless in my arms for awhile... "Malachite??"she asked uncertainly. "What?" "C-Can you just hold me??"she asked hesitantly. "Sure.."I told her,enveloping her into my arms....as the cold wind blew at us,he golden mane flying in the cold night's air.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later... I returned to the limo with Mina... "About time you got back Mal.I thought our toes were going to freeze off." said Zoycite tugging his coat. I smirked...well...Jadeite and Darien didn't seem to mind...but Nephrite and Zoycite were ready to pitch a fit. Serena looked up at her brother... "Mal?"she asked softly. "Yes Sere?" "Who's this??It's not polite to not introduce your new friend."said Serena staring at the puffy eyed blond. Mina stared at Serena.Serena like her warm-loving self,gave Mina a warm friendly smile. "Guys,I'd like you to meet Mina Halls."I told them. Serena smiled.."Glad to meet anybody who can knock my brother from his ser-uummmph!!!" I covered her mouth with my hand,muffling her words. Jadeite gave a chuckle. "Darien chuckled."I'm Darien Terra."said Darien. "Oh,you're the band leader!!"exclaimed Mina. Raye broke away from Jadeite and walked over to Mina."I'm Raye Terra. Pleased to meet you."said Raye shaking Mina's hand. "Mina,you're freezing!!!"said Raye. I held her hand into my own...startled by it's coldness... "Why don't you let us drop you off??"I suggested. "Oh,I don't want to take advantage!!"said Mina. "Hey,it's no problem!!!"said Jadeite smiling. "Yes,please...besides...it's late."said Darien. "Well...alright..thank you."she whispered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back at the mansion.... "So brother...spill...how did you meet her??"asked Serena curiously. "I met her the day of the storm." "Oh,so she's the..friend you mentioned????"asked Serena. I nodded. "I like her."said my sister. I groaned...I knew where this was going.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next day.... "Hey Malachite...why don't you invite her for dinner tonight??"asked Serena. "Sere...what is going on in that mind of yours??"I asked her. My sister looked up at me with her famous puppy-eyed look...but god,it always worked...outside I may be hard and tough but inside I'm as soft as liquid...Sigh...my little sister could always bring out the softie in me... "Sigh...alright you win."I told her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I knock on Mina's door...holding a bouquet of flowers...my heart is thudding painfully on my chest... Slowly,the door opens... "Malachite??"she asked surprised. "Uh-hi Mina." "Mina,who's at the door??"asked another feminine voice. "Uh-one second Christi!!" "Your friend??"I asked. She nodded.."The one who's a big Terra's fan...maybe you better come back later.."she whispered. Suddenly,the door was yanked open from Mina's grip and at the door stood a young woman with curly peroxide blond hair..probably dyed...she had unusual violet eyes...also most probably contacts...unless she was Raye,I didn't believe it was her real eye colour.She wore a loud sleeveless yellow top with an equally loud green short skirt...yuck.. "Mina,who-EEEEEE!!!"she screamed. Mina groaned..."Too late..." "It's,it's MALACHITE JOHNSON of the TERRA'S!!!"she screeched. "Sigh..Malachite,meet Christi Dimm,my house-mate."said Mina. I chuckled.."Er..please to meet you."I said. Christi practically had hearts in her eyes when she grabbed my hand and hugged it,squealing.."I'll never wash this hand again!!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So... "Mina!!I can't believe you never told me you knew Malachite Johnson!!!" scolded Christi. "Sigh...give it a rest will you??"asked Mina."So,Mal...what brings you here??" Christi rolled her eyes..."Isn't it obvious??He came to see ME.." Boy...I nearly spit out my tea I was drinking from Miss Dimm's remark. Mina giggled..."And mind telling me how Malachite knows you??"asked Mina. Mina looked cute smiling...a big difference from last night's puffy eyes and everything... Christi gave a sigh..."He spotted me in the crowd of course..."she sighed. I couldn't help smirking...she wishes...Mina caught my smirk and stifled a laugh. "Err...actually,I came here to ask Mina something."I told her. Mina turned her head to stare at me with a confused look.Christi's jaw was wide open...boy..if only I had a camera... "Me??"she sputtered. I nodded."My sister would like to see you again.So she asked me to invite you for dinner."I told her. Christi's jaw was still open. Mina blushed."Well-I-I...I don't know what to say."said Mina. "Well,say yes."I told her. "Wait a minute!!!Where is this dinner???"burst Christi. "At the Terra mansion."I informed her. Christi stared at Mina with a scowl....probably thinking the girl had all the luck..afterall..Mina was not another mindless fan like Christi. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dinner... "Hello Mina...so good to see you again!!"said Serena smiling. "Hi Serena.Nice to see you again too."said Mina. I led Mina to the dining hall along with all the others... I seems that Lita and the other girls had been busy....They really outdid themselves this time... Stuffed turkey...with gravy...yum,one of my favourites. Later... "That was a delicious meal...thank you."commented Mina. Lita and the other girls smiled. I could tell,they liked Mina already...soon..the match-making would begin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two years passed by..... Okay...so...the girls managed to get me to admit my feelings to Mina. ~FLASHBACK~ Sigh...such a depressing day...Mina's been avoiding me all day...I think this picnic is turning out to be a drag... Maybe sitting alone by the pond will help. I sit down...picking up some stones and skipping them over the water. "Hey brother..."said a voice behind me. "Hi Serena."I said not looking. "So....what's bothering you??"she asked. "Well...I'm down...as usual..." "Why??" "It's just that...Mina's been avoiding me all day...I'm beggining to hate it...I have feelings for Mina...it's just that...I don't know how to tell her.It's so....frustrating!!!"I exclaimed flinging the stone into the water. "Why didn't you just tell me??" "Huh??"I said. I turned to look and saw a teary-eyed Mina and a mischevious looking Serena...why the little...she tricked me!! Mina flung herself into my arms..god...it felt so good to hold her.... She smiled up at me..."Silly...I love you.."she whispered. I was shocked...did this sweet golden angel actually just say what I think she said????? "Mina..?"I asked. "Oh Mal!!I love you!!"she shouted. Suddenly,I was kissing her....oblivious that my sister had already slipped away...leaving the two of us at the pond... ~END FLASHBACK~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That night... "Whew,that was some concert today."said my brother. I nodded."But no rest for me..."I told him. "Going to meet Mina eh??"winked Nephlite. I grinned shamelessly and nodded..."Yes,...I told her to meet me at the park!!I have a surprise for her...." "Ooh..any hint??"asked Zoycite teasingly. "I'm going to propose..."I told my friends flatly. "You're no fun.You should have kept them guessing."said Darien walking in. "Like you did anything less when YOU told us few months back,you wanted to marry my sister!"I retorted. "The park...??"asked Nephlite. "Actually the gazebo where we met."I replied. "How romantic and sweet!!"gushed a voice. "Oh,Lita...hi!!"I exclaimed. "How totally sentimental."said Zoycite rolling his eyes.Earning an angry stare from Lita. I gave a chuckle.His sister was going to give it to him now... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I waited at the gazebo patiently...Mina was 10 minutes late...probably stuck in the traffic with all this rain...exactly like how we met...I thought to myself. Rain...wet wind and me alone....ironic... "Mal!!!"shouted a voice. I looked up and saw Mina...I was about to reply her when I saw a car driving too fast for it's own good heading straight towards Mina... I couldn't shout....Mina heard the car,and turned to look...like a frightened deer caught in the oncoming headlights...Mina was paralysed with fear... It all happened so fast...the car tried to stop,but without results... the car slammed headlong into Mina...knocking her.... She was thrown like a ragged doll... Mina landed on the sidewalk... And then....a scream tore from my throat.... "MINA!!!!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I must have waited an eternity for the doctors to come out from the emergancy room....I paced back and forth... When the doctor did exit the room,I ran to him...my eyes pleading... The doctor merely shook his head and said,"We did our best...we don't know if she'll make it...even if she makes it through the night,it doesn't mean she'll recover...she could remain in a coma for who knows how long.." I wanted to scream,shout and rant...but no sound came from my mouth.. Serena came to me..."Doctor...If she DOES make it through the night,will she ever awake from her coma??"asked Serena. The doctor looked thoughtful..."Perhaps,..but it's difficult to tell... We can only be sure,she'll survive if she makes it through the night...and the waiting is usually the hardest..."said the doctor walking away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mina DID make it through the night....but she remained in her coma.... I wished she'd just open her eyes and look at me.... Unfortunately...the doctors didn't know when she'd awake or if she'd even awake at all...the doctor suggested they move her to a special asylum. But I know she'd awaken....she came this far...no matter what would happen,I'd still wait for her....my love... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Three years passed... Three years have passed,and Mina,my love had not arisen from her slumber.. Mina...my love...she still sleeps in the asylum...soundlessly...never moving...never thinking...doctors say..she'll probably sleep forever...an eternal slumber... But I'm still here....waiting....forever... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'll Wait Forever I'm sitting alone by the fire, It's mystery and beauty I'll never tire, I wait patiently for someone of my heart, She is my lover, In an eternal slumber, I'm waiting for her to wake, I don't know how long more I can take, Without her by my side, My love,the one who raises my spirits like a tide. Perhaps she'll rise, Perhaps she won't, Whatever happens, I'll still endure,waiting here for her... Her face,I'll never forget, I'll wait for her,without regret.
