Amy walked down the hall deep in thought ,when suddenly,Amy finds her rear smarting and herself on the floor with her books in disarray. "I don't know what you're talking about."answered Greg in a normal tone. But inside,his stomach was doing flip flops. Greg and Ken looked up to see the rest of their,'elite group', Darien Waters,Andrew Laurence and Chad Dales. "Hi guys!"replied Ken.Greg just nodded. "What's with him dude??"asked Chad. "Nothing,except he's frustrated I won't stop teasing him."laughed Ken. "Oh??"questioned Darien arching an eyebrow. "He crashed into Amy Reef today while we were talking."said Ken matter-of factly. "Yeah??Amy....where have I heard the name before??"asked Andrew. Darien rolled his eyes."Amy Reef's the school brain,Andy."replied Darien. "Oh yeah!!The girls are thinking of befriending her!!"exclaimed Andrew. (girls meaning, the elite group of girls.) "Big shocker there..."said Ken sarcastically. "So what did you tease him about?"asked Chad curious. "Oh,I just said..."began Ken,when Greg tackled him into the ground. "Shut up!!!"exclaimed Greg. "Hey!!You DO like her!!"exclaimed Ken laughing. Three audible gasps were heard. "Whoa!!Greg!!You LIKE her??"asked Chad. "Hi Serena."said Darien.Serena let a smile creep onto he face... "Hi Darien."she replied. "Hey guys,...so...you still haven't answered our question."said Lita. Ken started laughing again. Greg flushed a dark red.... "Nothing,see...Greg accidently crashed into,...get this...AMY REEF!!" said Andrew. The four girls stared at each other with understanding...turning on their heels they headed off.."Say,where do you think Amy Reef,is??"asked Raye audible enough for Greg to hear. "Oh no...."he moaned..."I'm doomed..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amy sat in the library absent mindedly thumbing through her biology text book. She gave a sigh....*Greg Browning is cute...Focus on the biology!!*scolded her mind as her face heated up for even thinking about Greg.. Amy shook her head several times and tried to concentrate on the book in front of her.She sighed again...today had been a bad day... First she'd burnt her toast and was nearly late to school..in class she'd broke her pencil leads and her pens had run dry...now she couldn't stay focus on what she was learning. Amy was so preoccupied with her problems she didn't notice four girls enter the nearly empty library. "That's Amy Reef right??"whispered Mina.Raye nodded her head. Lita muffled a giggle. "Mmmmf...no wonder Greg's in such a huff,...she's totally cute.And just his type.."whispered Lita. Serena grinned at her companions..it was interesting to see what Amy Reef looked like,after all,Amy was like an invisible person when it came to the social ladder... "Hi,mind if we sit here??"asked a voice,breaking Amy out of her reverie. Amy's eyes slowly travelled up to the face of the voice that had spoken.. Her eyes widening a bit at the sight of the elite group of girls.Every other girl in school wanted to be them or one of them.But Amy was not one of them. "Uh..sure.."said Amy. The four girls pulled out the chairs and plopped down at the table. Amy desperately tried to turn her attention back to her book,with futile results... Then,a girl with long blond hair tied in long braids spoke. "You're Amy Reef,right?"asked Serena. Amy slowly nodded."You are...??" "I'm Serena Halding,that's Mina Heart,Lita Bradly and Raye Fier." introduced Serena. "Nice to meet you....You're in my English class right??"asked Amy. Serena nodded. "I don't see you hang out with anybody alot,why don't you hang with us tonight???"asked Mina. "Hang out??"asked Amy unsure. "Yes,....the disco will be packed tonight!!"exclaimed Mina. "Uh...but I have to study."replied Amy lamely. "But it's Friday!!"exclaimed Raye. "Yes,why don't you hang with us...we like you.."said Serena.Lita nodded. "Well...but I.."began Amy. "No buts...we'll drag you if you don't."said Lita. Amy gave a sigh of defeat.."W-ell..alright..just this once."said Amy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That night... Amy stared in the mirror,the girls were going to pick her up soon,she hoped that what she was wearing would be okay...*But why do elite and popular girls like them want to hang out with me???*wondered Amy. Amy wore a light ice blue dress just above her knees with a matching white belt.She wore white flats. Amy's mother had bought her the dress,but Amy never wore it before. Then,...the doorbell sounded... "Girlfriend!!Wow Amy!!You look different!!"exclaimed Lita. Amy blushed lightly.Suddenly a thought crossed her mind..*What if Greg's there???* Suddenly she felt cold and panicky. Raye noticed the change in her expression."Hey girls!!We need to get our Cinderella to the disco before she chickens out!!"joked Raye. Raye and Mina tugged Amy towards the car. A small smile curved at the end of Serena's mouth..."Why,yes..they're ALL going to be there."teased Serena. Amy let out a small groan.... At the Disco, "What's taking the girls so long?"asked Greg staring at his friends. Andrew,Chad,Ken and Darien let out a laugh.Greg didn't like it... "Don't worry,they'll be here..they told us they needed to pick up someone extra..."hinted Darien. But Greg didn't get the hint.."Women.."he mumbled. At that moment,the girls along with Amy entered the Disco.. "Hi Amy!"exclaimed Ken. "Amy???"said Greg turning around.His heart started to hammer....*She's so beautiful...*thought Greg. *Oh no...*panicked Amy.A deep blush errupted on her cheeks turning her ivory skin into a deep red. "Ken,Greg.."said Amy. Serena smiled."That's Darien Waters,Chad Dales and Andrew Laurence."said Serena nodding towards the rest of the boys. The three smiled mischieviously."Hi."they drawled. Amy smiled politely back. Darien walked over to Serena,"Let's dance.."he said grining devilishly. Serena arched an eyebrow catching his look.Serena nodded. Soon,everybody followed suit,leaving Greg and Amy alone... "I-uh...Amy..."stuttered Greg. Amy looked up."Yes??"she answered nervously. "W-Would you like to dance??"asked Greg. Amy hesitated..."I-I'd love to,but I don't know how..."admitted Amy. Greg's face immediately brightened.."No problem!!I'll teach you!"exclaimed Greg smiling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The days flew by quickly,Amy hung out more and more with the four girls and had actually become best-friends with them. Other spiteful girls wondered how a book worm like Amy Reef had managed to become one of the girls in the elite circle,shooting Amy's social status high up on the social ladder in the school. Amy was still shy though and still studied hard to keep up with her studies.. It had been over a month now and she still didn't know if Greg liked her or not.The girls assured her he did...but she doubted. She really wished Greg would tell her...because at the end of the school year,Amy would be leaving for England to study in college. Greg adored Amy but was shy by nature and afraid of rejection...Both adoring each other afar..neither having the courage to make the first move. "I'm telling you Amy,..Greg likes you!!"said Mina. Amy blushed."No he doesn't...what would he see in someone like me.."asked Amy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hi,Mina!!Amy!!"exclaimed a voice. "Hi Ames....why so down?"asked Serena. "Well,just that,...come the end of the year,I'll be leaving for college." said Amy. "Where??"asked Lita. "England."stated Amy."For two years.." The girls stared at their friend...she was leaving when the school year was over.Never coming back until two years were over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sometime later.... "Penny for your thoughts??"asked Greg. Amy was sitting under a huge oak tree that grew on the school grounds. "Oh!!You startled me Greg!"exclaimed Amy. Greg grinned.*God,how he loved her...* "Who you going to the dance with?"asked Greg. "No one.."said Amy. "No one??"asked Greg unbelieving."Well then,how about you go with me?" asked Greg smiling. Amy looked up from her novel..."With you??"asked Amy to confirm she'd heard right. "Yeah..that's what I said..."chuckled Greg. "Well..uh...sure..why not?" replied Amy. "Great!!"said Greg."See you later!"said Greg running away. "So Ammes...going with anyone to the prom??"asked Mina nonchalantly. A blush stained her face as she tried to hide it with her book. Lita smiled and snatched the book away..."Alright,out with it girl!!Who's taking you???"exclaimed Lita excited. "Greg."said Amy bowing her head down so that the girls couldn't see the blush she had. Raye smiled."He's quite a catch Amy,..see..we told you he likes you!!" Mina and Serena gave one another looks...if Lita and Raye had caught it, they would have known the two evil blonds were up to something..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prom night.... Amy's heart was thudding in her rib cage.She wore a simple sleeveless light blue dress with light blue flats,a white ribbon around her waist and pearl necklace with matching pearl earrings. She shuffled nervously around her room waiting for Greg...he was picking her up at 7.00pm. It was now 6.58pm.. Amy stared at the clock in disbelief...the last she checked the clock was only at 6.57pm.... She wanted to scream..How could time pass so slowly???? After 2 LOOOONG minutes..... The doorbell sounded... After a moment of silence,her mother called her down saying her date had arrived. Amy panicked...gathering as much nerve as possible,Amy slowly descended the staircase. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Wow..she beautiful..*thought Greg as Amy descended the stairs. He was wearing a black tuxedo which fitted him perfectly.He held a bouquet of beautiful white roses. His dark brown hair combed back making him look handsome. He smiled at Amy. Amy thought her heart had stopped beating."Hello Greg,"said Amy. Greg smiled and nodded."Hi Amy."said Greg. Amy thought she was going to faint.But of course,she didn't.. "For you."said Greg thrusting the flowers in front of her. "Thank you.."whispered Amy. Amy's mother smiled...*So this is the boy that has my daughter's head all muddled up...he's just what Amy needs...* "Well,I think the two of you should get going already if you don't want to miss th prom."teased Mrs.Reef. Greg smiled."Right,..c'mon Amy!"he exclaimed."Nice meeting you Mrs.Reef!!" The rest of them smiled knowingly and continued to dance with their own partners. *I have to tell her how I feel tonight...*thought Greg to himself. Greg stared at Amy's curious face. "Well..I duuno yet."said Greg,running a hand through his dark brown hair. "What about you??"asked Greg. "I always wanted to be a doctor...."mused Amy smiling. "Oh? But that means you have to study hard."said Greg. "Right that's why after I finish high-school,I'm enrolling for a college in England.Being a doctor has been my life-long dream..."said Amy staring at the full moon.... Greg's shoulder's stiffened.*She was leaving???I have to tell her... Stop being selfish Greg!!Didn't you just hear what she said??Being a doctor is her life-long dream!!You're not going to stand in the way of her happiness are you??*scolded his mind. Amy stared at Greg for a few moments.... "Well...I hope you achieve your dream Amy."stated Greg firmly. "Oh,thanks..."said Amy.Her heart fell..*He doesn't like me...he didn't even try to stop me..I would have given up everything for him...* "Well,I guess we should get back to the prom right?"asked Amy. 'Click' the sound of her bag closing brought her back to reality... *Alright Amy Reef...time to wake up and face the truth...he only cares for you as a friend...nothing else...* Amy sighed and pulled her baggage down the stairs. Mina had stayed behind a bit to talk some sense into Greg... "Look Greg,you HAVE to tell her how you feel!!"exclaimed Mina. "And what??Be selfish??Keep her from her dreams??No way!!"shouted Greg. "She loves you Greg!!"cried an angry Mina. "I'm only thinking of what's best for her..."said Greg softly. "Oh..?She can't do that for herself??????"retorted Mina."You're just stubborn,stupid and a coward!!!"exclaimed Mina angrily. "You're stupid not to know she loves you,and let her slip through your grasp,and your a coward because you're afraid of rejection if you admit your feelings to her!!I'm ASHAMED to have a friend like you!!!"screamed Mina. He looked up at the clock...9.30pm?????!!!Had he been sitting here that long??? Amy looked around the airport,hoping to see a familliar mop of dark brown hair... It was already 9.55pm...*He's not coming...*thought Amy to herself.A tear trickled down her cheek. Serena looked at Mina.Mina narrowed her eyes and shrugged her shoulders... *Greg is definately going to regret this....*she thought angrily. "CALLING PASSENGERS ON FLIGHT BA1034 TO MANCHESTER,ENGLAND." "That's your flight Amy...."said Raye. Amy stared at her friends and nodded numbly. "We'll miss you,Amy."said Darien. "LAST CALL FOR PASSENGERS ON FLIGHT BA1034 TO MANCHESTER,ENGLAND." He ran towards the screens....Amy's flight had already departed!!! *I'm too late....*he groaned.A tear ran down his cheek. "Oh Amy...such a fool I am....Now I've lost my chance forever..." He stared at the ground as hot tears ran down his face. "Greg??"asked a voice. Greg looked up and saw Amy and the rest of the group behind her... Amy's face was in a mask of confusion. "What are you doing here??"asked Amy. "A-Amy??"he stuttered. Amy stared at him blankly.The rest of the group shot him looks of encouragement. "You d-didn't go???"he asked. Amy shook her head slowly."I couldn't....I didn't want to leave.." Much to Amy's surprise,Greg suddenly ran up to her and hugged her tightly. Amy let out a gasp as a flush rose to her cheeks. "Oh,I'm so glad!!!I was afraid you'd left and-and..." Amy stared at him into his deep midnight blue eyes..."Greg,...do you love me??"asked Amy slowly. Greg stared at her for a second...Suddenly,his mouth came down on hers possesively. When he settled her down back on her feet,and broke away,he grinned mischeviously..."I love you,Amy Reef.." Amy with a pink flush on her on her face smiled at him and suddenly hugging him. Greg smiled down at her as his own hands held her. The two were broken from their reverie when suddenly the rest of the group let out whoops,whistles and claps. Greg and Amy blushed as they smiled happily at their friends... "Way t'go,Greg!!"whooped Ken.
