Malachite,Nephrite and Zoycite finally reach the bottom of the gorge,that they suspected Minako Hikaruko,fell down into. "What a long climb...That was tiring."said Nephrite. Zoycite nodded but started to search for signs of Minako. "Well,anything???"asked Malachite. "Nope,but lets keep searching."said Zoycite. After an hour of searching,they finally found her unconcious on the ground.She was wounded pretty badly. Zoycite inspected her wounds and bandaged her arm. Awhile later.. "Her right arm is fractured,signs of clawmarks on one arm,but I don't know how she got them.We'll check for broken ribs when we get back."said Zoycite. Malachite nodded."Nephrite already climbed ahead awhile ago.It shouldn't take long to get back to the palace."said Malachite. "Okay,...."said Zoycite distantly. "Something wrong?"asked Malachite. "Huh?No...I was just wondering...she has injuries which seem to be inflicted by animals,so..where are they and where's the source of the flash of light we saw while climbing down??"said Zoycite. Malachite said nothing being as puzzled as Zoycite. An hour later....Minako had still not awaken.. A rope and bedsheets tied into a cloth cot held by rope was lowered down into the gorge.. "Okay,easy does Zoycite."said Malachite. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Above.... "Are you all alright????"asked Amy. "We're fine but Minako is in bad condition."answered Zoycite. "We have to get back quick,the equiptment I need is there."said Zoycite. They all nodded. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Somewhere else... "Kage!!!You disappoint me..."said Lady Nehko. "Please forgive me,Lady..."cried Kage. "You have still not found the child!I feel it!!She is growing..."screamed Lady Nehko. "The Princess of Light must not be found!!!"shrieked Lady Nehko. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Days later.... "Owwwww....this must be what it's like to have a really bad headache and hang over..."said Minako groaning. "Hello Mina...how are you feeling?"asked Malachite,walking in. "Uggh...I feel like somebody just rolled me over with a carriage."said Minako. "Well...that's a good sign."said Malachite laughing. Minako smiled groggily. The two talked a lot until Zoycite entered the sick bay and shooed Malachite out.Minako just smiled dreamily after Malachite left. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next few days went by quickly.Malachite did his best to help Minako recover.He took her on a tour of the grounds.Wheeling her towards the forest and flower gardens... "Mal,whose gardens are these??"asked Minako. "T-These gardens???Er-ah..they belong to his highness."said Malachite. "Really???Where is he?"asked Minako. "He's gone to another kingdom to settle some business."said Malachite. "Are you two really good friends??"asked Minako some more. "You could say that..."said Malachite. Malachite wheeled her chair through the forest and back to the mansion that Malachite had suggested they call their home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During the next month,Malachite and Minako had gone and explored various places and spent a lot of time with each other. As Minako sat next to Malachite leaning her head on his shoulder....the two of them stared at their own reflections in the water of Lake Akari. Malachite looked down at the head of blond hair resting on his shoulder and smiled.He picked yellow and orange daisy that grew common near Lake Akari.He handed the flower to Minako. Minako looked at the flower and gladly took it.She smiled at Malachite. "You know Malachite,I want to thank you so much for taking care of me when I was injured..."said Minako. "Oh,don't mention it...we are friends are we not?"asked Malachite. Minako nodded her head smiling. Minako kissed Malachite's cheek,when Minako pulled back Malachite looked at her surprised."What was that for??"asked Malachite. Minako just shrugged."For being you...."said Minako smiling. Malachite smiled and took the daisy from her fingers and weaved it into her hair. "Thank you.."whispered Minako shyly. Malachite smiled...lately,he'd been feeling warm emotions for Minako... but how could he...because she couldn't love him....for she didn't even know the truth about him.But he loved her a lot. Minako and Malachite walked back to the mansion under the moonlight.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later... Minako stood out on the balcony smiling.She held the daisy in her fingers and held it close to her nose...inhaling the sweet scent. Malachite had been very kind to her and she liked him alot.But recently, whenever Malachite was around,Minako found herself blushing and sometimes getting tongue-tied. Minako inhaled the flower's scent once more,sighing.She reentered her room and danced around the room.She was feeling very happy but tired... Slowly,Minako laid herself down onto her bed and fell fast asleep... Minako found herself in a desolate land,all dust and rocks...dead trees stood dry and tall."What the..." A young woman dressed in a gold coloured dress appeared out of the fog. She had blond hair but sad brown eyes... "Minako...."said the woman. "Who are you???!!"exclaimed Minako. I'm your mother Mina..."replied the woman. "M-My mother???"asked Mina unsure. "I need your help daughter...the land,needs your help...your first task, to find the topaz stone,hidden deep in the mountains...Farewell..."whispered the strange sad lady. "Wait!!"cried Mina Suddenly...the landscape changed into a gorge with grassy lands.Minako looked about puzzled. When all of a sudden...monsters in the gorge attacked her again.Minako screamed. Then,a strange white light appeared,destroying the creatures and looking down at her in the form of a serpent. The light serpent swooped down at her and penetrated her body.Minako screamed even louder than when the creatures had attacked her. She felt the light tear at her...splitting into different beams around her body.A swirl of light went around her.... Minako screamed again......... "MINAKO WAKE UP!!"yelled a voice. Minako sat up straight...paralysed with fear...sweat dripped down her brow.She stared at the person who had just woken her.It was Malachite. Around him stood the others staring at her worried. "Mina,are you alright?"asked Malachite. "Y-Yes..just a nightmare..."said Minako. "B-But.."began Jadeite. "But what...??"began Minako. "We heard you screaming from down the hallway...We thought you were hurt, and when we entered you were floating and a strange aura was around you." said Darien. Minako gave a little gasp... "What was the nightmare about??"asked Serena. "I-I..."began Mina hesitant."I don't remember..."finished Minako. "If you say so..."said Ami unsure..but decided not to push her...Minako would tell them when she wanted to and not any other time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next morning. "Hi Mina,any bad dreams last night?"asked Malachite. "Uh,no."said Minako. Malachite and Minako continued to converse as the others ate their breakfast in silence. Serena did not miss how Minako's face would light up,whenever her brother suggested to take her out.Neither did she miss the expression on her brother's when Minako left the room.A dreamy one... Serena smiled to herself.She'd gather the rest of the girls later and put Operation Love Match to motion. Later, "So,do you all know WHY I called you here??"asked Serena. "So that you'll get your serious brother and Minako Hikaruko together right??"asked Makoto. "How did you know??"said Serena surprised. Rei giggled."Cause,we can practically SEE those little gears in your head spinning out a devious little scheme."she joked. "Oh no,I not THAT transparent am I???"screeched Serena exaggeratingly. "Seriously,those two LOOK good together."exclaimed Serena. "We know....we know.It wouldn't take much work...they adore each other already."mused Rei. "Sometimes I wonder when you three are going to stop putting your noses into peoples lives and turning it topsy-turvy with all your little schemes." said Ami exasperatingly. "Never."answered Makoto smiling. "Besides,you're an ol'softie at heart Ami...You wouldn't be angry at your little sister would you????After all...our meddling did get you together with Zoycite."cooed Rei,batting her eye lashes. Ami blushed."All right...But I still say your brother should do it all by himself Serena."scolded Ami. "Him????If we leave it to him,it'll take him years to admit!!"exclaimed Serena. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Minako and Malachite had gone out horse riding.With Minako slowly recovering,Minako insisted she went outdoors. One day,while riding with Malachite and a few others.... Minako halted her horse and was mesmerized by the mountain peaks which were covered in green. "Ami,What mountain is that??"asked Minako not flinching. "That??That's Mount Hinoko.But nobody ever goes there,beause of the thick fog that surrounds it."explained Ami. "You don't say."mumbled Minako. "Hey!Lets stop here for lunch!!"exclaimed Nephrite. Everybody agreed,giving a cheer. Serena winked at Makoto.Purposely,Makoto bumped Minako's shoulder,making her drop the sandwich she was holding. "Oh dear!!I'm sorry Mina!!"exclaimed Makoto..trying to be sincere as she possibly could,trying not to crack out with laughter. "It's all right Mako,I wasn't very hungry anyway."said Minako,turning her attention to Mount Hinoko. "Would you like some of my sandwich,Mina??"asked Malachite. "Oh,you eat it..don't mind me..." "But I insist."said Malachite,handing her half the sandwich.Minako accepted at swallowed it with one gulp. Malachite smiled."And you said you weren't hungry??"he enquired. "So I lied."stated Minako. "Is there a legend of the Mt.Hinoko??"asked Minako curiously. "Why??"enquired Ami. "Oh,I just have this strange feeling..."replied Minako. "Actually,Mina...there is a legend."said Zoycite.Though from Mercury,he had studied the history of many planets,legends and prophecies. Jadeite rolled his eyes."If I didn't know you better Zoy,I'd have said you were a native Venusian with all the history and things,instead of a Mercurian."drawled Jadeite lazily. Ami smiled."And from looks Jade,you'd be thought a human than Martian,with your sense of humor."she giggled. "Sure...protect your belove."mocked Jadeite. Raye rolled her eyes in exasperation."For once,I agree on something about you with my sister...You do have the attitude of a human rather than Martian you know..."said Raye. "Tell me the legend Zoy.No need to heed them."replied Minako. "Very well then..."answered Zoycite. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later... "So the lady left a guardian to the the stone??"asked Minako. "Right."said Zoycite. "Hogwash..There is no burning stone of Mt.Hinoko.Guardian...yeah right. That must be some ancient guardian by now."scoffed Jadeite. "But that's a legend!!"protested Zoycite. "Burning stone...what colour is it suppose to be??"asked Malachite."Red?" "Uh-no....it's a yellow stone,I believe,"answered Ami. Minako looked up....*Burning stone...yellow...topaz...* "Next thing you'll say is that the stone has a connection to the Princess of Light prophecy."laughed Jadeite. "Why,Jade...I was just going to say that."smirked Zoycite. "Huh???" Raye,Serena,Nephrite,Darien and Makoto collapsed in a fit of giggles. "Good shot Jade!!"exclaimed Serena. Minako got up from around the fire and walked away.Malachite saw her walking away.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Minako sat under a tree staring at the ground.*Impossible...Yellow stone, a topaz!!* "This can't be happening to me!!"she exclaimed to herself. "Mina??Is anything wrong???"asked a gentle voice. "Malachite!!"exclaimed Mina."No..nothing's wrong." "Here,I thought you might be cold."said Malachite putting a blanket over her shoulders. Minako couldn't help but smile."Thanks..."she whispered. Malachite just smiled and placed a light kiss on her temple... This caused Minako to blush slightly.Minako leaned her head onto Malachite's shoulder.Tugging the blanket tighter around her body. A sleepy Malachite put an arm around Minako,drawing her closer to him.She didn't protest.Feeling sleepy herself,Minako snuggled closer,feeling her eyes droop...her conciousness slipping away,to peace and quiet.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To be continued... Sorry this one is short...it's difficult writing 3 stories at the same time.
