But now,since I've got nothing else to write(the rest are in the old pc. This is my bro's.) I'm giving this story a shot.Give me some slack okay?? I'm rusty after months of not writing. ~After school~ "Are you comfortable??"Serena asked an old lady at the old folks home. Serena fluffed the woman's pillow. "Thank you deary.I'm very comfortable."croaked the old woman. "It's so nice of a young lady to keep us old folks company.You have such a big heart,young lady."said the woman. "Please,call me Serena."smiled Serena.Her heart warmed with a golden glow.How many times had she longed to help at an orphanage or at a comunity centre??She'd longed for it.But it was frowned upon by the Sorority.And so, for it's sake,she had given up the dream. "You're so kind,Serena.But,don't you have some other place to be??Like with friends as young girls your age do???"asked the woman. Serena sighed sadly. "I have very few friends madam." "Call me Agatha.All my friends here do."smiled the woman."I'm sure a darling like you would have plenty of other things to do than sit around in a musty old home looking after even older people.Don't you have a party to go to??"asked Agatha. "Sure I do,like my school prom two days from now."smiled Serena. "Well??What are you doing here then??You could spend your time preparing for it.Instead you sit around here and talk and listen to us old biddies." said Agatha. Serena smiled with laughing blue eyes. "You trying to get rid of me,old woman???"asked Serena teasingly. Agatha caught the hint of affection in the words that made her smile. "Don't be impertinent young woman.I'm just asking,don't you have any friends??" "Agatha,never in my 16 years have I been happier than to take care of old biddies like you,as for friends-"began Serena. "They're all right here."came a chorus of voices. Serena turned and saw 4 girls with smiles on their faces. "Mina!Raye!Lita!Amy!What are you doing here????"asked Serena surprised. "Serena,is it so surprising if we became volunteers like you???"asked Raye in an exasperated voice. "Serena,aren't you going to introduce us??"asked Lita smiling. Serena smiled. "Girls,this 'old biddy' here is Agatha.Agatha,meet my friends."laughed Serena. "You young ladies are far too pretty to spend time with us old folks. Aren't they Lila???"asked Agatha nudging the sleeping woman next to her. Jolted out of her sleep,Lila strained her eyes to see them. "By bullocks,Agatha they are pretty,but you roused me outta me sleep to ask me this???Cripes Agatha,bother ol'Johnny will ya??A lady has to get her beauty sleep."croaked Lila. The girls and Agatha laughed.... Indeed,Lila was a 69 year old woman with silver white hair and plenty of wrinkles. "Lila deary,a woman your age doesn't need any beauty sleep."laughed Agatha. "Well,we couldn't find you,but then,a certain baka told us."smiled Raye. "You mean Chiba-baka?"asked Serena astonished he would even remember such petty things.Things that SHE outcast of Tokyo Hill had said. "So,are you still going to the prom??"asked Serena. "Yeah....the guys called us and said they were still taking us, even though we were outcasts."sighed Mina,as a look of bliss played across her tired features. "You guys have quite a catch."smiled Serena. "You have quite a catch too Serena.If only you'd acknowledge it."pointed out Lita. "What are you talking about???"asked Serena annoyed at her remark.Which was obviously pointing out to Chiba-baka and her. "Don't play dumb Sere,it's not you."said Raye. "I don't like him,and he doesn't like me...that's that.Finished... comprend'e??"asked Serena. "How do you know who we're talking about???"asked Amy. "It's obvious you're implying Darien Chiba-baka of the high and mighty Theta Fraternity."exclaimed Serena. "Sere,you said it,we didn't."smiled Mina. At that moment,Serena knew she'd stuck her foot in her mouth.The crafty shrews had set her up. "SO you admit that you like Darien....otherwise you wouldn't be thinking that we were implying him."smiled Raye evilly. "DO NOT get any ideas girls."warned Serena. "Yeah....but it's only fair that she and Darien find out for themselves." said Amy in a weary voice. "Molly???" "Speaking.Who's this???"asked Molly. "It's Serena!"exclaimed Serena exasperated. "Oh,what do you want?"asked Molly her voice turning slightly frosty. "I'm just calling to tell you,if you're still game,I'll get you into the masquerade prom.Since I'm already an outcast,another deed's not going to hurt."sighed Serena. "Serena???Are you for REAL????"asked Molly excited. "Yes.Meet me at 7pm at Tsukino Manor with your date or whatever." confirmed Serena. "Oh Sere,thankyou!!But...what do you mean,outcast??"asked Molly. "It's a long story,Moll...just don't ask."sighed Serena weary. "Alright,Sere...I'm forever grateful!!"exclaimed Molly. "I'll see you." "Bye!!" Putting down the phone with a click,Serena exited the phone booth. "Yes I am Melissa."answered Serena her brows knitted together. "What are you going as??A tramp???No wait....that would mean you'd be going as yourself and it's not much of a disguise."taunted Melissa. Miyo and Priscilla gave an airy laugh. Serena's lip curled in distaste. "You really shouldn't laugh like that you know....it just shows what air-headed DONKEYS you are."smirked Serena as she began to walk away. "And oh,Melissa??Any costume is better than that vampire costume you're wearing right now."pointed out Serena. "Vampire costume????I'm not wearing any-"began Melissa when the realization hit her.Serena Tsukino was calling her a VAMP!!! "At least it's better that going to the prom with Akiru!!!"shouted Melissa angrily. Serena's shoulders stiffened.Everybody had turned to look at her when Akiru's name was mentioned. "That was going overboard,Melissa.You KNOW I never set a foot near him. And besides...who are YOU going with???"asked Serena as she tried to blink tears away. "Why honey....everybody knows I'm going with-"began Melissa. "Definately not me,Melissa."broke in a deep masculine voice. "Darry!!You KNOW WE'RE going TOGETHER!!!It's absolutely like-like a tradition for the Delta and Theta President to go together!!"exclaimed Melissa. "I didn't even know we had such a tradition."said Darien as he winked at Serena causing her porcelain face to stain a rosy hue. "And my name's Darien.Not Darry,Melissa."corrected Darien. "DARIEN!!"exclaimed Melissa. "Ah,you finally got it correct."mocked Darien. Melissa was at a lost of words.Her mind was only registering the embarrassment as dozens of eyes were on her. *No kick at all....no if I were arguing with Serena-*thought Darien to himself as he stifled a yawn from their 'argument'.It was too easy for him to win this one. Serena muffled a giggle. "Why do you always pick on Serena anyway??"asked Darien. "Because she's suppose to be second-rate around here!!!Not the most popular girl in school!!!!It's-it's an outrage to the school hierarchy!!" shouted Melissa angrily. "You started all those rumors because you were angry over a little student hierarchy???In't that a bit drastic???Silly even.There are lots of things in this world that is more important that that."reprimanded Serena angrily. "Yeah????Name some!!!"shouted Melissa. "Hunger,poverty,elderly people,orphans,war,disease,death."said Serena as she ticked off her fingers. "What's going on???"asked Chad and the other guys as they walked up along with the girls. "We finally know why Melissa Kagero did what she did."said Darien. "Huh???" "Student hierarchy."explained Darien. "THAT'S it???????"screeched Mina. "Girl,don't bust my eardrums."said Chad as he covered his ears to Mina's voice. "Was there any doubt??"asked Lita with a bored look. "Not really.I would bet my month's allowance,all Melissa worries about AND cares about is...popularity,make-up,mirrors,vanity,pride,money,looks and of course....zits."laughed Raye. The group broke into laughter. Melissa's face burned red hot. "How dare you..you...you OUTCASTS talk about me like that!!!"shouted Melissa angrily. "Oh shut up Melissa."said Alex and Michelle another two sorority members. "Yeah....I think what Serena said about the problems in the world are right.We shouldn't worry about such petty things such as student hierarchy."said Holly,a petite girl with purple eyes who was also a member of the Sorority. "You-you are all against me!!!This is an outrage!!!This is mutiny!!! I want you all to shut up!!!I want you all to not listen to Serena Tsukino! I want-I want-I want-"screamed Melissa. "What she wants is a good kick in the pants."whispered Lita to Serena. Serena stifled a giggle. "YOU!!!You HAVE THE BAREFACE NERVE TO EMBARRASS ME IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL!!!YOU-YOU TRAMP!!!"screamed Melissa her face red with anger. "You look like a tomato...I suggest you shush before-"began Serena. "DON'T YOU TELL ME WHAT TO DO,TSUKINO!!!YOU HEAR ME???YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE TO WALK ON THE SAME GROUND AS I DO!!!YOU'RE NOBODY IN THIS SCHOOL!!!TOKYO HILL IS-" "Tokyo Hill is an academy with students who have some manners, Miss Kagero."came a cool calm voice. Melissa froze.Turning to face the voice,Melissa came face to face with the Principle of Tokyo Hill.Mr Yoshida. "Mr Yoshida!!"exclaimed Melissa with a squeek. "Miss Kagero,I think you'll be spending a lot of time in detention and I'll be having a talk with your parents...."said Mr Kagero. "I tried to warn you."said Serena sympathetic. "Save your acts,Tsukino...I don't need your sympathy."hissed Melissa in a low voice. But she knew,inside....Serena was feeling guilty.She just had too big a heart.Serena could fit the entire world in her heart and still have room for it twice over. "I guess...but I feel partly responsible."sighed Serena. "Don't be.Melissa doesn't deserve your sympathy Serena."coaxed Lita. "I think,I'll just go home....."said Serena heading to the nurse's office to get permission to go home. Darien stared after her.It seemed the bunny rabbit felt worse after seeing her enemy get caught.She was probably the most loving person he knew. Serena needed somebody to look after her and keep her from all the hurt. And he had made up his mind to be that person....... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serena sat in her room as the kitten she had named Luna lay curled on one side of her bed. Scratching it's tummy,Serena sighed. "You know Luna.This is one of those times where even your purring isn't going to help me."said Serena as she scratched it's ear. Her father had been away for almost a month.She missed her father.After all,her father was her only blood relative.The only person who had loved her.Not counting the love she recieved from her friends.But there was still one more type of love still missing....the love of a soulmate.... Remembering the huge fight back at school,Serena cried herself to sleep. She was lonely....sure there were plenty of servants around the manor. But it wasn't the same..... Serena awoke with her pillow damp.It was late at night.She had slept the whole afternoon away.
