Sitting under a sakura tree and burrying her head into her knees....... Serena wept.... Pink petals from the sakura flower tree fell down from the tree...covering Serena's hair in pink.... Serena looked up.....she was all alone now.... A tear fell to the ground.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Melissa smirked as Serena ran off..... *That'll teach the little snot.* Mina,Raye,Lita and Amy glared at Melissa hatefully.... Darien sighed.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next day.... When Serena walked into the school,everybody on campus avoided her like the plague. Serena's lower lip trembled....she wanted to cry so badly....but no... she'd vowed to herself she would NOT cry....she would NOT give Melissa Kagero the satisfaction,tthinking she'd won. When Serena entered Math class....she gasped.... Written on the blackboard.... 'Serena Tsukino is a tramp' Serena glanced at Miyo Matsumara who sat in the front row angelicly. Running from the class room,Serena pushed past Darien Chiba who was just walking in with the other girls and guys behind him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Darien saw a whirl of golden hair push past him roughly. Turning to the class...he saw the blackboard,his shoulder stiffened and his lips curled in distaste. Mina and the others let out a gasp..... Darien turned from the class room and went to look for Serena...the little rabbit,while Mina cleaned the blackboard off,shooting a deadly glare at Miyo. Serena ran outside to the school grounds....taking a deep breath....her eyes were red and puffy....she hated this....everywhere she went....people merely whispered about her and said about the rumor. "Why me???"she whispered....*Who started the rumor??Couldn't be Akiru,... he and his gang hardly attended school.... "I wish I was back at Juuban...."sobbed Serena. Darien saw the little bunny sobbing under the academy's 80 year old oak tree.He was about to call out to her when Serena got up suddenly....she was staring at something..... "Hey you!!!Leave that kitten alone!!!It's pitiful enough without you bullying it!!!"shouted Serena. Darien followed her gaze and saw a young boy holding a kitten by it's front leg. *That's cruel...*thought Darien. Serena marched over towards the boy,frightened....the boy dropped the kitten which let out a frightened yowl......... Serena quickly caught the small skinny kitten. "It's alright....I'll take care of you."smiled Serena. *She's got such a good heart...she's even worrying about a kitten before herself.*smiled Darien. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serena patted the tiny frightened kitten. "There there...I'll look after you."smiled Serena. "Hey Serena."came a deep voice. Serena let a gasp and spun around to face the person. "Darien!!!" Darien gave a chuckle. Serena looked away."You shouldn't be talking to me...."whispered Serena, tears welling up in her eyes. "Hey now,since when did YOU tell me,who I should and shouldn't talk to, Serena???"asked Darien in a comforting voice. "Because I'm an outsider....or how do I put this...?? Loser...I'm shunned by everybody in the academy and...and..."whispered Serena before bursting into tears. "Hey,rabbit....don't cry."coaxed Darien. "Why????You just had to come out and remind me of everything didn't you???"sobbed Serena."Just go away!!" Darien watched as Serena ran.....ran...far far away.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serena hardly attended classes anymore and her grades dropped dangerously low....with that....the rumors grew bigger and bigger... Two weeks since the rumors started.... Darien frowned...people were still talking about Serena...it was disgusting the way the rumors now blew up...people said Serena had dropped out to join Akiru's gang. But that wasn't true....Darien could only wonder why Melissa had started the rumor...people were whispering and gossipping about whether Serena would show up at the prom that was only three days away.... Somewhere else.... Mina,Lita,Raye and Amy were at the Tsukino residence.Where Serena lived. Her father was currently away on business,so did not know his daughter had been skipping school.... "Hello Mrs Yukiro,is Serena in???"asked Raye. The housekeeper nodded,opening the door wider to let the four girls into the huge mansion. "Serena!!!!Some friends of yours are here!!!"called Mrs Yukiro. "I don't have any friends!!!!"cried a sad voice. "Oh...I'm sorry...she's been like that for a few days....why don't you go up to her room and see if she'll let you in???"suggested Mrs Yukiro. The four girls nodded,thanking the housekeeper and started up the the staircase. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serena sobbed on her pillow......the kitten she'd brought back gave a tiny mewl. Then....Serena heard rapping on her room door. "Go away!!"shouted Serena in a muffled sob. "Serena????" Serena froze...it was Mina...."Leave me alone!!!"screamed Serena. "Serena,you get your lazy butt to the door and open it or we're NOT leaving!!!"threathened Raye. "Go away Raye....just...leave me alone...haven't Melissa and her bimbos tortured me enough yet?????"screamed Serena. "Serena....you come out of there."ordered Lita. Serena stuffed her head under a pillow....trying to block out all the words....all the things they were saying..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Few minutes later.... "Serena!!!"shouted Raye yanking the pillow off her head. Serena rubbed her red eyes and stared."How the hell did you get into my room!!???" Lita grinned and pointed towards the balcony doors. "I don't know why the hell you all came here,but I want you to get off Tsukino property."spat Serena. Serena felt a sharp blow to her face.... Raye was staring at her angrily. "Serena Tsukino,you are the most cowardly person I have ever met!!!I thought better of you!!!Why don't you just wake up!!???Thewre are millions of people in the world that have far worse problems then you!!Instead of feeling sorry for yourself,why don't you just stand up and fight back??? You're pathetic Serena....and I pity you for that.."hissed Raye walking out the door. Serena stared after her friend dumbfounded..... "Raye's right you know....you should stop running away from your problems and face them.Otherwise I'm ashamed of you..."whispered Amy. Watched as all of her friends walked out.... *Am I really that cowardly????*asked Serena to herself.Sitting on her bed and staring at her feet now seemed like a good thing to do... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next day.... Serena walked to class ignoring the digusted looks shot at her by class mates... "Well...if it isn't Serena Tsukino,the academy's tramp..."mocked Melissa. Serena eyed Melissa levelly. "If it isn't Melissa Kagero,the academy's slut."spat Serena. ( Hey!!Sometimes children who are loving and giving need to defend themselves too you know!!) Melissa gave a gasp. Miyo and Priscilla eyed her skeptically. "You're in no position to talk."hissed Miyo venomously. Serena gave a bitter laugh."I'm in no position to talk?????Look who's talking...a girl who can't even think or talk without sucking up like a leech." Priscilla opened her mouth to say something.... "Oh,no...don't say a thing,bimbo.It woud only embarrass YOU!!!" Melissa gritted her teeth,"Listen you stupid airhead," "NO...YOU listen...I don't know why the bloody hell you started that hogwash rumor,but I suggest you want to pick on somebody,find an idiot who doesn't know what the hell is going on and you STAY OUT OF MY LIFE!!!!" screamed Serena. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serena glared at the three girls,who stared at her opened-mouth. Melissa being the first to recover,smirked."So....the girl has a back bone doesn't she???"mocked Melissa. "More of a back bone than YOU,Melissa."spat a voice. Serena turned and saw Mina,and the other girls behind her. "Why you,...-" "You don't need to say anything....you want to kick us out,don't you??" said Raye mockingly. "You damn well believe it."hissed Melissa. "Well...we don't NEED the dumb sorority."spat Amy. The girls looked at Amy in awe.The shy girl of the group.... "Fact remains,once you're out of he sorority,you've got nothing and are not even worthy of walking on the same ground I do."screeched Melissa angrily. Serena rolled her eyes. "You know Melissa...sometimes I wonder if you can even see beyond your own nose..."said Serena. Melissa was seething. Darien and the rest of the academy's student body watched in interest as the group argued....and Serena was winning.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Melissa.....you can keep your presidential status and choke on it.We don't need social circles."smiled Serena. "We'll see,Tsukino!!"shouted Melissa as Serena and the other girls walked away,whilst a few students clapped,whistled and cat called. If looks could kill...Serena would have died a long time ago as Melissa glared after her in contempt and loathing. "Serena Tsukino....."whispered Melissa in anger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mina,Lita,Amy and Raye smiled at Serena....though a child who was loving and practically had the biggest heart in the world,it was good to know how to bite back. "You really told HER off,"smiled Raye proudly. "Right!!She had it coming the witch."praised Lita. "Indeed she did."came a cool voice. Serena's heart leapt to her throat.....*Darien Chiba.* "Hello Darien.Come to throw your pearls wisdom of social life??Cause if you do,I don't want it."said Serena. A hurt look flashed through his eyes....he could easily sic the whole student body of this tiny petite girl...yet,he didn't. Serena noticed the flash of emotion that ran through him.Guilt steadily rose up.... "I'm sorry Darien...I guess I just have a lot on my mind."sighed Serena hugging herself. "No...it's okay.It's been rough for you here at the academy."said Darien. "I really admired your display of courage back there....to stand up to Melissa that way when you're no longer.....immune to the wrath of the academy students." "A girl's got to grow up someday....anyway,gotta go,class starts soon,and I have volunteer and charity work after school!!"exclaimed Serena heading towards a class. "Charity work???" "Yeah...something I haven't been able to do,due to my place in the sorority.Melissa would frown on this type of things like working in the soup kitchen and getting her hands dirty."laughed Serena.
