She walkes along the crowded streets of Tokyo...sunglasses block out the sunlight from her eyes....her beauty is breathtaking... Serenity Tsukino,a 23 year-old with long blonde hair and sparkling aqua eyes.People look at her,but when she looks back,nobody wants to be seen... She comes,she goes....with nothing to mark her passing... She is an orphan.....her parents...murdered....their killer was never found.She had been only 8 years old.So young.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serenity entered the Kage Corporation building...the workers avoided her for she had the air of the predator.She worked as the CEO's secretary. "Hello Rei..."greeted Serenity. Rei Hino,also 23 and a colleague of Serenity's."Hello,Serenity.."replied Rei.It was evening...the workers were leaving....and soon....it would be time....again... When the last employee had left,Serenity and Rei headed down the building's secret passageway,to an underground level. There,were other people...waiting..... "So....what do you think 'Shidosha' gathered us here today for??"asked Rei. Serenity shrugged. Dimando Kageno.The CEO of Kage Corp and also the 'shidosha' of the Assassin clan,Katana. The group of people dropped to the floor in a bow,their hands in an X over their chests. Dimando nodded.His silvery hair gleamed in the soft candle light of the cavern.He wore a white traditional Japanese robe with black designs on it. Slowly....the group stood up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Fellow assassins...as you know...we have recieved a target last week, from one of our..'clients'."began Dimando. Rei snorted."Of course we know that."she mumbled under her breath. "Hush,Rei."whispered Serenity. "It seems...our normal ninja's failed.....and it has come to my attention, the target is skilled in the arts of self-defense.And has 6 guards.... So this one is one of the special cases where it needs finesse.. instead of a gang of assassins sent after the target."said Dimando. Rei smirked.Serenity raised an eyebrow.*Finesse??This is a rare case.* "So....who wants to volunteer for this job???"asked Dimando. Serenity smiled slightly....*I haven't had any assignments for so long... this is a perfect opportunity..* Serenity raised her hand. Rei stared at her,violet eyes wide. Dimando raised an eyebrow."Serenity...??" "I volunteer for this,Lord Dimando."said Serenity. "Then I'll volunteer to help Serenity,m'lord."came Rei's voice. Serenity smiled at her friend gratefully. Dimando nodded."Good...I shall tell you your target's name later."said Dimando getting up and walking to the dark doorway behind the throne. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I gather you want to flex your reflexes,Serenity??"smiled Rei wickedly. "You gather right Rei...It's been so long since a case like this came up. If I don't get out into the open air soon,I'll go crazy.I'm starting to think I'm losing it." Rei laughed."You????No possible way Serenity...you are the clan's best assassin." "You mean second-best..."came a voice. Rei and Serenity turned to the eavesdropper. "Hello Esmeraude."greeted Serenity cooly. "I am the best assassin of the clan....don't you forget that."spat Esmeraude. "Serenity can take you anyday."hissed Rei. "The hell she can."bit Esmeraude. Serenity smirked."Temper temper...you allow yourself to be clouded by emotions such as hate,Esmeraude....it SHALL be your undoing...."said Serenity cooly as she turned to walk away. "We shall see,Serenity...we shall see...."said Esmeraude darkly. "Fine...I shall let YOU try the assassination then."challenged Serenity not looking over her shoulder. "FINE!!"screeched Esmeraude. As Serenity walked away,her heart hurt over the words she had said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later..... "So Serenity....you are letting Esmeraude do the assassination instead of you???"questioned Dimando. Serenity nodded. "And you agree....Esmeraude?" "Yes."said Esmeraude darkly. "Fine....Your target...is the CEO of Terra Corporation....Endymion Chiba." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next day...afternoon Endymion Chiba,CEO of Terra Corporation...lazed next to his pool as the sun beat down on him. "Endymion how can you be so calm????Only last week was the second assassination attempt!!"exclaimed Malachite pacing around the pool. Jadeite sighed."Malachite....you sound like a mother hen.Relax slightly." "I don't want to calm down.I don't want to relax."replied Malachite irritably. Minako Aino rolled her eyes at her fiancé from the pool. Ami Chiba,Endymion's sister giggled lightly.Lita stifled her laughter. Nephlite chucklied."Jade DOES have a point you know...you'll get white hair worrying too much." Makoto laughed."White hair????His hair ALREADY LOOKS white in the sun!!" laughed Makoto. Malachite frowned and shot Makoto a stern glare.With that,Makoto effectively shut herself up. "Malachite....I'm 25 years old and the CEO of Terra Corp.I'm a grown man. I can take care of myself."drawled Endymion lazily. Malachite shook his head in exasperation."I'll go into the study and do some work and try to trace who the assassins are." "Better yet!!Try and find out WHO are hiring those Katana assassins!!" called Zoiscite. Malachite stopped in his tracks. "Katana??As in...the Katana Assassin clan??The Sword assassins???"asked Malachite. Zoiscite nodded. "How did YOU KNOW??????!!!"shouted Malachite angrily storming towards Zoiscite. Zoiscite sighed."If you'd seen the emblem on their costume uniforms, you'd have noticed."explained Zoiscite. "Okay...so we know WHO the assassins are....the deadliest assassin clan in all of Japan.This does NOT look good."groaned Malachite. Jadeite rolled his eyes."Relax will you????There is NO WAY any Katana are going to get NEAR Endymion.Isn't that what WE'RE here for??"asked Jadeite. "You're right." Endymion sighed."Will you stop talking about me???I can handle my own life dammit."growled Endymion."I need some major relaxation."sighed Endymion getting up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serenity and Rei sat at a sidewalk cafe near the Chiba manor.Esmeraude had said she was going to scout the place and learn it's schedule and guard changes. "So...Serenity...do you think she's going to suceed??"asked Rei lifting an eyebrow. Serenity smirked,sipping her coffee. "Hardly...if Endymion Chiba is anything the rumors and tabloids say he is."said Serenity looking at the magazine in her hands.No picture of the famous Endymion Chiba...but plenty of gossip and news. "And that is....??" "See for yourself."replied Serenity tossing the magazine to her friend. Rei caught the magazine easily due to her trained reflexes. Rei skimmed over the article. "The 25 year-old eligible bachelor,CEO to Terra Corps.One sister,parents died 5 years ago,6 bodyguards,trained in the arts of self-defense and ninjitsu,judo,sword,jijitsu...etc etc..." "Almost like a ninja..."whispered Rei. Serenity nodded."Correct...and if his bodyguards are even half as trained as him...which I suspect...more so...Esmeraude's not going to win this one."said Serenity her aqua eyes narrowing. "Interesting."said Rei. "What is??"asked Serenity,snapping her attention back to her friend. "I didn't know Endymion Chiba dated two of the most influential women of Tokyo."sniffed Rei. Serenity raised an eyebrow."Who??" "Beryl Tsurayaba and Natsumi GINGA"spat Rei."Sound familiar??"asked Rei,her eyes narrowing. "Which one...??"asked Serenity confused. "Both of them." *Ginga....Tsurayaba....Ginga...Tsurayaba...* "Of course!!Beryl Tsurayaba was the woman who hired the clan to assassinate her father."said Serenity."And Natsumi Ginga was the woman who....who....."whispered Serenity. "Who killed Hotaru."spat Rei. Hotaru Tomoe had been Rei's little sister.She had been only 14 years-old when she was murdered....7 years ago. "Her brother,Seijuurou was in on it too."said Serenity.A tear fell from her eye."Poor Hotaru....she was so young..."whispered Serenity. Rei's violet eyes clouded..in rememberance of her little sister.Though Hotaru had only been Rei's half-sister,she had still loved her a lot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Endymion trained his skill with the katana blade with one of his guards. "You know,Minako...If I didn't know better,I'd say you've improved." laughed Endymion. "Well then,Endy...you don't know any better."laughed Minako knocking his blade away. Endymion smiled slightly."And you....underestimate me..."laughed Endymion jumping back and retrieving his blade,while knocking Minako's down... effectively pinning her to the ground with his blade. "I win."laughed Endymion triumphantly. "You look down on me,Endymion....a ninja has discipline and self-control. And a ninja,NEVER underestimate's ones opponent."smiled Minako kicking him in the gut.Effectively knocking the wind out of him. Endymion fell onto the padded floor of the gym."God....did you HAVE to KICK me?????!!!"exclaimed Endymion holding his stomach. Minako giggled."It is what I would have done,Endy...had it been a real match.I hope you've learned something from all of this." "Yeah...remind me to cut your salary."growled Endymion. "Ouch...THAT hurt....come one...don't be a sore loser Endy."teased Minako. "I am no-" "Lord Endymion....a phone call for you sir...from a Miss Natsumi Ginga." interrupted Endymion's butler. "Uggh...just what I need."groaned Endymion. Minako laughed. *I knew dating Natsumi was a BIG mistake....*groaned Endymion mentally. "Hello??Endymion speaking." "Oh...Endymion darling....How have you been????"came Natsumi's voice. "Very well thank you.What do you want??" "Direct as usual,dear???" Endymion smirked."Very....." "Oh well...I just wanted to invite you over to my mansion for dinner tomorrow."laughed Natsumi. "How delightful...but I must apologize...I am busy tomorrow."said Endymion. "You're always busy nowadays,Endy."pouted Natsumi. "I'm sorry." "Rei,don't you think the guards will get suspicio-" "Serenity!!" Startled,Serenity and Rei looked up at the person who had disturbed them. "Coan!!"exclaimed Serenity. Coan Ayakashi.The youngest of the four Ayakashi assassin sisters of the clan. "What are you doing here???"asked another voice. "Bruche!"...the third sister. Bruche smiled."The one and only.Now...what are the two of you doing here?" asked Bruche curiously. "Watching Esmeraude."grinned Rei. Coan and Bruche looked up and frowned."Oh???What's she doing circling the Chiba Manor SO obviously???"asked Coan sarcastically. Serenity and Rei gave a laugh. "Where's Pattsu and Karaberasu??"asked Rei looking around. "Pattsu is with Saffir."answered Bruche. "Karaberasu is at the Corporation." "Ohhh..."replied Serenity and Rei simultaneously. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That night... Serenity smiled slightly. "So...Esmeraude...are you sure you want to try and attack Endymion Chiba now??"taunted Serenity. "What are you talking about try???I WILL kill him."spat Esmeraude who wore a black skin tight ninja suit which had no sleeves. Esmeraude lept away into the night. "Think she'll make back alive??"asked Karaberasu,the second Ayakashi sister,who stood in the shadows. Rei let out a snort. "As if...." Pattsu smirked. "That's right...sometimes I wonder why she doesn't freeze in that costume." "That's HOW she dresses."contradicted Coan.
