Her life was a lonely one, on the moon.The only companions she ever had were her court,the Inner-Senshi. Oueen Serenity watched her daughter.She was already 16 and had yet to find a husband.She had turned down all her suitors of noble blood and soon the Moon Kingdom would be signing the treaty with the Earth Kingdom,Queen Serenity's best friend and her husband.The King and Queen of Earth.She took one last look at her daughter and left the room for a conference. Princess Serenity jumped when a hand touched her shoulder.She turned to stare at the person, "Mina!!Never scare me like that!"she exclaimed. Mina the Princess of Venus and senshi of Love smiled."Whatever Serena.But did you forget that you were to meet Lita,Raye,Amy and me at the gardens?" "Oh my!I totally forgot!"she cried."C'mon if we don't hurry,Raye is going to start a volcanic erruption right there."joked Mina. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prince Endymion sat in the rose garden's inhaling their sweet scent.It had been a grilling practice with his friends.His Generals. Jadeite,Nephrite,Malachite and Zoycite entered the garden laughing."Hey Darien!"said Jadeite.Endymion looked up."What?"he asked. Nephrite and Jadeite exchanged looks."So,are you going to the Moon Ball?" asked Nephrite. "I HAVE to,"said Darien in an exasperated voice."Mother and Father WANT me to go."he said again. "What are you so sad about?I heard the Moon girls there are beautiful." said Jadeite.Endymion rolled his eyes. "Jadeite I wouldn't put it past you to think that way."said Endymion to the fair-haired general."What????"asked Jadeite. Malachite and Zoycite shook their heads in exasperation.Nephrite and Jadeite started to converse about the Moon Kingdom while Darien just sat back and took in the scenery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AUTUMN Soon it was early autumn,and the night of the Moon Ball.Endymion sighed... Soon he would meet the Moon Princess and her court.He was already 19 and soon his parents would want him to find a future-queen. Malachite poked his head into the room."Endymion,are you ready?The transporter is ready.We will be staying at the moon...."he said but was cut off by Endymion.."For the next few days....I know Malachite.Why so formal all of the sudden??Wasn't it two days ago you called me Darien?"he said to his friend and General. Malachite smiled,"Whatever Endy,we SHOULD get going.The ball starts in 3 hours."he said. Endymion nodded and followed his friend out the door.They then headed towards the transport room. "Mina!!!!"screamed Raye..."Get back here with that ruby comb!!"she screeched at her friend.Serenity,Lita and Amy sat on Serenity's bed talking. Amy rubbed her forehead.She was getting a headache listening to Mina and Raye scream and run from each other. Lita spoke to Serenity,"So Serena,what do you think the Earth is like?"she asked.Serenity started to think..."Beautiful."she said in a faraway voice. Amy looked up.."Do you think so Serena?"asked Amy.Serenity turned towards Amy.."I don't know...that is why I'm not attending the ball..."said Serena with a giggle."WHAT!!!!??????"said four shocked voices. "N-Not going?"asked Lita baffled."Serena, you can't just sit here in your bedroom you know....It's the MOON BALL!!!"exclaimed Mina. "But I'm not going to sit in my room...I'm going to Earth."said Serenity calmly. "WHA-WHAT?????"shouted Raye."Serena!!Have you gone insane??!!Your mother won't let you go there!!!"she exclaimed."WE won't let YOU!!"she continued. "Please Raye...sneaking to Earth is enough trouble without you guys not letting me go."said Serena calmly."I really do want to see the Earth."she said wistfully."Please?"she asked batting her sapphire blue eyes. Amy shook her head."Serena,it's dangerous for you to go without anybody with you."she said. Lita nodded,"Yeah...if you're going we're going."said Lita.Serenity shook her head..."If you all don't go to the ball,Mother will be sure to suspect that something was going on."she said.The four girls nodded. "Then Lita and I will stay."said Raye."Amy and Mina will go with you."she said slowly.Serenity smiled."Thank you guys!"she squealed.Mina pouted. "Raye and Lita are sure to get all the guys now."she huffed.The rest of them laughed. "Well Amy?Have you figured how to work the transport yet?"asked Serenity exitedly. "One more second Serena."said Amy.Few minutes later,the three girls found themselves in a grassy meadow.Most of the leaves on the trees had fallen off,since it was autumn. "It's beautiful!!!"exclaimed Serenity.Mina and Amy looked in awe at some of the plants which still had leaves.Flowers which hadn't withered away because of the cold autumn air.Serenity skipped throughout the meadow. Mina and Amy helplessly followed their Princess. Back on the Moon,......... Queen Serenity sighed as she heard Serena's friends,Lita and Raye tell her that Princess Serenity,Princess Amy and Princess Mina weren't feeling to well and had retired for the night and had said they were very sorry about the Moon Ball. Queen Serenity nodded that she understood but still wondered....*Serenity, Serenity my darling daughter...what or where are you up to now?*she thought. Prince Endymion wandered the castle hallways to familiarize himself with the palace.The ball was starting in 10 minutes,he had to get back to the ballroom.His generals were waiting outside the door of the ballroom for him. "Hey Darien,you came back just in time...they're going to start announcing any minute now."said Jadeite.Endymion just nodded. The doors opened and a loud voice announced..... "PRESENTING OUR HONOURED GUESTS PRINCE ENDYMION OF THE EARTH KINGDOM AND HIS FOUR GENERALS!!!"said the anouncer. A few minutes later...the bugles started blaring. "PRESENTING HER MAJESTY QUEEN SERENITY OF THE MOON KINGDOM!!"anounced the anouncer as Queen Serenity entered the ballroom.Queen Serenity glided up the anouncer's place and spoke clearly to everyone in the room. "If I may have your attention,I would like to anounce to you, my daughter, Princess Serenity and two of her court are absent for they are not feeling well.I do apologize on her behalf."anounced Queen Serenity. Prince Endymion stood there with his geneals.Nephrite let out a laugh.... "So the Moon Princess won't be appearing."he said chuckling..."lucky her.." continued Nephrite. Prince Endymion just glared at Nephrite.The generals started laughing at their prince,which annonyed him.*Might as well try to enjoy the Ball...* he thought fuming to himself.Fuming the Moon Princess didn't have to come. "Serena!!We better get back already!!"screamed Amy.Princess Serenity turned towards her friend."Awww you guys..can't we stay a bit more?"she asked hopefully.Mina shook her head..."Sere,it's almost midnight!!And it's FREEZING."she said in a cold voice.Serenity took one look at her 2 friends and nodded.They transported back to the palace,where the next morning,the five friends told each other what had happened. Winter...... Princess Serenity now very often snuck down to Earth.It was winter now. Everything on earth glistened like silver.She happily played about in the snow laughing,not noticing somebody watching her. Prince Endymion had gotten up early and taken a walk outside the palace grounds to his favourite meadow which was now covered in snow.Laughter like the tinkling of silver bells met his ears.He turned to find the source of the sweet laughter.He noticed a blond-haired figure dancing and skipping merrily upon the white snow which covered the wide meadow.He began walking towards the figure,it was a girl with funny hairstyle. Princess Serenity heard crunching of boots.*Oh no...It's starting to snow and now there's somebody out here!!I can't go back because the cycle I set the portal on isn't due for another 2 hours!!*she panicked. It was starting to snow heavily.Endymion saw the figure start to run towards the nearby rocky hills.He started after her,knowing he wouldn't make it back to the palace in time.He hoped the girl knew of some shelter. Serenity reached the rocky hills and spotted a cave.*I hope there aren't any bears in it.*she thought to herself. Endymion watched as the figure dissapeared into a yawning hole in the rocky slides.*A Cave!!*He entered it with extreme precaution.*This cave is deep.*he thinks to himself.He hears sobbing down the tunnel.Walking towards it...he sees a figure huddled up at the end of the cave."Hello?"asked Endymion.The girl stops sobbing and screams. Endymion covers his ears."Stop!!I won't hurt you!!"he screams over her wail.Surprisingly,she stops.A small scared voice come from her."W-Who are you..."she said half sobbing half shaking. Endymion starts to answer but stops himself not wanting her to fear him more beacause of his title."My name is Darien."he said."And you?"he askes. Princess Serenity watches him..."S-Serena."she whispers.Darien moved closer towards her."Don't be afraid.I won't hurt you."said Darien in a warm voice.Serena smiles. *My god,her eyes are so-so beautiful.Even in the darkness I can see the blueness of her eyes.*he thinks to himself. *He's so handsome.His eyes are beautiful and sparkling.But I can never love him.I'm the Moon Princess and I'm not suppose to be here either.Even if Earth is the Moon's new ally.*she thought to herself. An hour passed and the snow was still howling heavily.Darien had talked a lot to her."No, I didn't cheat Miss Serena."he said as they played a game. "You did!You can't grab somebody's wrist while it's their turn."she said laughing."Wanna bet?"he asked as he grabbed her wrist again.Serena gave a shriek..."NO Faiiiiiiiiiiir....."she squealed standing up from their sitting position. Suddenly,she slipped and fell.Darien padded her landing with his body. She landed on top of him and he gave a little grunt as she landed on him. Serena opened her eyes finding herself staring in Darien's own blue ones. "Darien,....are you hurt??"she asked slowly not moving her gaze from his. "No."he replied slowly.Suddenly their lips met in a slow soul-searring kiss. Serena's mind screamed at her...*What are you doing!!!You can't do this!!* her mind screamed.That's when she got up,pushing him away. Darien slowly got up and looked at her."I-I'm sorry."whispered Serena. Darien shook his head and sighed..."It wasn't your fault Serena,it's mine." he said calmly.Serena shook her head..."No-no I...,Lets just not talk about it Darien..."she said slowly.He nodded They sat there for another half hour in an uncomfortable silence.The snow had stopped and somebody was coming."Darien?"said a voice. He looked up and went to the entrance."Jadeite?"he asked."Yes,I'm with Nephrite,Malachite and Zoycite."said Jadeite.Darien stepped out into the snow."Wait."he said suddenly and entered the cave again."Serena?"he called uncertainly."What?"came a voice down the cave. "My friends have come to find me.We can escort you home if you want to." said Darien. "No,"she said."I can go home myself.You go."she said quietly.Darien felt a pain in his heart.She had just denied him."Alright,"he said after a moment of silence.He stepped out of the cave again.The pain still in his heart. After he had left,Serena waited a few moments and crept out of the cave. *Have to get to the meadow if I'm to go home!!*she panicked.She reached the meadow in the nick of time and returned to the moon..... ~~Back at the palace.~~ Endymion slammed his fist into the table.His generals were surprised."Whoa my prince...Your fist is innocent."joked Jadeite.Endymion glared at him. "Endy,what's wrong?"asked Malachite.Endymion looked at him."Nothing."he said and walked away. Serenity moped for the next few days.All because she'd fallen in love.With DARIEN...a terran whom she only knew for two hours or so.Her mother was holding another ball.The Earth Prince was coming for the Moon Winter Ball. *What luck*she thought sarcasticly. Endymion had only realized he had fallen in love with Serena a week later. He couldn't get her out of his thoughts.But...he didn't know a last name nor was she of royal or noble blood.Otherwise he would have noticed her at previous balls.He didn't even know what she actually looked like except for her deep-sapphire blue eyes.Most of all,he had to follow his parents to the Winter Moon Ball... *What luck*he thought bitterly. Winter Moon Ball. Endymion was bored.This was the second time he'd been here.This time his parents were standing with the Queen Serenity waiting for the little MOON PRINCESS to show up.Then the doors opened. "PRESENTING THE MOON PRINCESS AND HER COURT!!"stated the anouncer. "PRINCESS AMY OF MERCURY!" Amy dressed in a light ice blue gown stepped into the room. "PRINCESS RAYE OF MARS!" Raye stepped in.She wore a fiery red gown lined with gold thread. "PRINCESS MINA OF VENUS!" Mina walked into the room wearing a yellow gown trimmed in orange and gold trimmings. "PRINCESS LITA OF JUPITER!" Lita walked in,she was wearing a beautiful forrest green gown lined in silver. "PRINCESS SERENITY OF THE MOON AND HEIR TO THE MOON KINGDOM!" as Serenity walked in, she was wearing a white moonsilk gown trimmed in gold thread. Moonpearls were weaved into her hair which was put into the Royal hairstyle. Endymion was stunned.She was a vision.But he'd fallen in love with Serena because of her eyes,her sweet behaviour and merry voice.The moon princess was different.She was probably a snobby brat. People soon dispersed and started dancing.The Princess and her court were grouped near the curtains talking."So Endy,are you going to ask the fair moon princess for a dance?"asked Jadeite."Yes,it looks as Zoy has a crush on the princess of Mercury."said Nephrite pointing towards his friend and the Mercury princess who was dancing."That's nothing,look at Mal dancing with the Venus princess!"said Jadeite.Endymion rolled his eyes. "C'mon!"said Jadeite and Nephrite as they pulled him toward the remaining princesses. "Sigh...doesn't the one dancing with Mina look cute?"asked Lita."I think the one with Amy looks cuter!"said Raye."What do you think Sere?"they asked. Serenity shrugged.She felt a tap on her shoulder. "Hello Princess Serenity."said the man.Serenity looked at him,he was handsome.He was blond with piercing green eyes.(Don't scold me if I get Jed's eye colour wrong!I don't remember what colour it was!)Serenity smiled at him."Hello,who are you?"she asked."My name is General Jadeite from Earth. This is my colleague and friend General Nephrite."he said.Serenity smiled at them and tapped her friends shoulders.When she turned back to face them she saw somebody else beside the.He had midnight black hair and deep ocean blue eyes.It startled her.*Like Darien's eyes!*she thought to herself. Jadeite noticed the princess staring at Endymion."This is our Prince Endymion."said Jadeite.Serenity stared and then curtsied."Please meet you Prince Endymion."she said."I'd like you to meet Princess Raye and Lita."she said gesturing towards them.Nephrite smiled at Princess Lita."Would you care to dance Princess?"asked Nephrite.Lita smiled and nodded."Yes..."she said in a whisper.Jadeite looked at Raye and gave her a boyish grin.."Shall we?" he asked.A smile played on Raye's lips."We shall."she stated firmly. Endymion was scowling at his generals for leaving him with the Moon brat. Serenity wasn't enjoying the night either.Endymion searched for somebody to dance with but everybody else was taken.He sighed *How bad could it be?* he wondered."May I have this dance, Princess Serenity?"he asked.Serenity looked at him.*HE'S asking ME to dance?????*she thought.Her face potrayed a skeptical look."I'd be honoured to Prince Endymion."she said trying to sound enthusiastic. At the ending of the ball.The Royal families were gathered on the center of the platform."Today,the Winter Moon Ball is to celebrate the Moon's first day of winter and also....the Royal family of Earth and I,Queen Serenity have something to anounce."said Queen Serenity slowly.Queen Gaia of Earth smiled at her best friend."We have come down to the point that our alliance which has been confirmed has been decided that to strengthen our ties and the alliance is by matrimony."said Queen Gaia.Serenity and Endymion gasped. Later that night..."How could mother do this to me!!!!"screamed Serenity. Her friends pitied her."N-Now I'll have to marry that PRINCE ENDYMION!!"she said through her sobs.Mina put a palm on her shoulder,motioning for her to calm down."Sere,don't cry.It's for the good of the kingdom."said Mina. "I know,but I don't LOVE him.But I could never love Darien."whispered Serenity.Her friends were puzzled."Darien?Who's Darien???"asked Lita.Sere looked up at her friends."I met him when I was at Earth a week or two ago. I snuck down there without any of you knowing."she whispered."I love him so much.But I don't know WHO he is,WHERE he is or what he LOOKS like.I only know he has stunning ocean-blue eyes and a rich velvet voice."she told her friends.Lita and Raye were flabbergasted."YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH A MAN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW?????"said Raye."OR WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE??"exclaimed Lita. Amy spoke"Well,as long as she loves or THINKS she loves him,it won't matter what he looks like."she said. "I know...I must sound dumb."said Serenity."I'll say,"huffed Raye."But the scary thing is,Endymion has Darien's voice and eyes."whimpered Serenity. Mina hugged Serenity."Sere,I don't know if you'll see this Darien character again,but I can tell you....If fate is kind,you'll meet him again,thus it was meant to be.But if not and you never meet him again,it was never meant to be."she said.Serenity looked at her friend's blue eyes and nodded. "MATRIMONY???Mother why didn't you and father tell me first???"cried an exasperated Endymion."Endymion....the Silver Millenium is a powerful alliance.Through negotiations,we have managed to become part of that alliance.But the ties are very fragile,and the only way to secure those ties are through matrimony.Besides, Queen Serenity is my best-friend and you are already 19.It will soon be your time to find a future-queen and companion." said his mother.Endymion knew it was pointless to argue with his parents. But Serena.....*Ahhh...what are you thinking Endymion.You don't even know her last name or where she's from much less what she looks like.Only her voice,eyes and her hair.* He recalled how he met her.He'd seen her figure in the field.Too far away to see what she looked like.But good enough to see her hair which shone like muted gold in the sunlight.He smiled at the thought.Scary as it was,Serena was very much like the Moon Princess,but that's impossible.....or is it? During the middle of winter,the Queen of Earth decided to hold a ball to invite her future-in-laws down to Earth.Queen Serenity and Princess Serenity arrived at the palace with her court.Princess Serenity and her court were greeted by the Prince and his Generals.They bowed while the Princess and her court curtsied.The maids then escorted Princess Serenity and her court to their rooms to rest and prepare for the ball. During the ball,The girls decided to wear the colour of their respective planets.Lita danced with Nephrite,Mina with Malachite,Amy with Zoycite and Raye with Jadeite.Princess Serenity had to dance with Prince Endymion.He marveled at how much her sapphire-blue eyes looked like the girl,Serena's. After two dances,Serenity stepped out onto the balcony for some air.Sere stared at her home the moon.She prayed to the moon."Selene,help me forget Darien and give me the strength to go through and understand my mothers wishes for me and Endymion."she whispered.Unknown to her that time,Endymion heard her prayer about 'Darien'.The whole thing hit him...*SHE WAS the girl he'd met on that early winter evening.Serenity was SERENA.*his whole heart soared.But then replaced with sadness.*Did Serenity even love him?Or did she love his other name,Darien??*he left when he heard her turn. Serenity was choking.Choking on her tears which threathened to fall.She didn't love Endymion.But they would be getting married during the next spring.Which was only a month and a half away.She had to get out....She slipped out of the room and began to run outside,towards the gardens. Endymion followed her. Serenity sat down on a marble seat which were close to the rose bushes.She inhaled their sweet smell which still lingered.At that moment,she couldn't hold it in anymore,and started to weep.Endymion came out of the bush he'd been hiding in and placed his cape on he shoulder,startling her.She looked at him.In the darkness of night,she really could believe that Endymion was Darien.But no...it could never be him."Why are you crying Princess?"asked Endymion."Nothing."she choked."Really?"he asked staring at her intently. Serenity felt his gaze and turned,"What are YOU staring at??"she bit out angrily."Nothing...it's just that you remind me of somebody."he said smiling. "Who?"she asked curiously."A girl I met this year during an early winter evening out in the meadows."he said smiling still.Serenity sucked in her breath."Really?"she asked as her mind began to jog."You know,I heard you out on the balcony.You were praying."he stated.Serenity got a shock,*He'd heard her praying?????Then he knew about Darien now!!*her mind screamed. "You must have loved the man a lot didn't you?"he asked.Serenity started to cry again..."I-I DID love him...But I didn't even know who he was or what he looked like....I only remember his bewitching eyes...the eyes I fell in love with!!"she cried. Endymion stared at her...She was beautiful...and most of all,she loved him and that was all he needed to know.He carresed her face wiping away her tears.She stiffened.He leaned towards her and whispered into her ear..... "I know the feeling....Serena."he whispered.Serenity was shocked.... Her mind was reeling.*Endymion was Darien.Darien was Endymion.He was the Earth Prince.* Serenity hugged him fiercely and tightly...never wanting to let him go... Endymion hugged the girl back.Then he looked down at her...."Serenity,look at me..."he said.She looked up into his eyes,seeing all the love and happiness which was reflected in his deep-blue eyes.He leaned down and kissed her.Softly at first savouring the feel and taste of her lips.But then Serenity kissed him fiercely which he returned as the two of their figures were silhouetted in the gleam of the moonlight.The stars twinkled brightly as if to say that the two were now whole once more.... The next few weeks,Serenity and Endymion were hardly away from each other for they loved each other more then life itself.Endymion and Serenity were happy and contented thinking they had finally found their soulmate.But the happiest people were their parents and friends for they had finally found true love.Queen Serenity and Queen Gaia smiled at each other and continued to watch their children from the palace window afar. Spring arrived.Endymion and Serenity were at the altar.They smiled at each other...both communicating without speaking,for the love in their eyes spoke volumes that no word could ever define.They looked deep into each other.... *I love you Serenity....* *I love you too Endymion...with all my heart.* *And I you...* **ALWAYS....** The End So what did you all think???Do you like it?Do you hate it??
