If this story sounds sad...don't blame me...I was listening to a REALLY sad SailorMoon song...(in my opinion)But I liked the song... *denotes thought Serenity had been in England for 5 months already.She was starting to miss the New World... Endymion was beginning to doubt even more.Did he love her?Did she love him?Was he really in love with her?He might never know... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nephlite walked around the gardens aimlessly...He didn't know what to do. Makoto and Molly...the two women who tied his heart in knots. *Maybe I'll feel better by Lake Traquility.*he thought to himself as he started walking towards the lake. When he reached there...he saw someone else sitting there...Molly.... *Oh no...*he thought to himself.But Molly had already noticed him. "Oh, Nephlite..."she said quietly."Hello Molly...."he said.They both stared at each other not knowing what to say. "So,how have you been?"she asked."Good...you?"replied Nephlite."I'm fine.. Melvin treats me well..."she said slowly. "I see...good for you..When will the wedding be?"asked Nephlite."Two months from now..."said Molly. "Well,Congratulations Molly.."he said quietly.Molly just nodded her head. Nephlite got up."Well,good luck Molly...I'll be seeing you..."he said and walked off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Molly watched as his walking figure disappeared down the hill... *Oh Nephlite....Do you still love me???*she wondered.*As much as I like Makoto and want you to be happy...I can't help but wonder...*she thought to herself. She stared at the lake....*Melvin loves me...that is one thing I know... but who do I love more...the past..or the possible future?* She got up herself and walked back to the palace...confused and unsure... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Makoto sat in her room...She was feeling bored...Nephlite had been telling her he was busy.Ami spent most of her time in the library,Minako always walked around and was rarely seen.Rei spent her time learning to ride. Serenity?She was never to be found after breakfast....*I wish...I could go home.....* she thought to herself.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two weeks later.... "So,tomorrow's the masquerade...Who are you going with?"asked Minako. Makoto shrugged.Serenity stared at the wall.Ami blushed...Rei just tried to look nonchalant. "Serenity?What's wrong?"asked Rei noticing her friend's lack of enthusiasm."Nothing...."said Serenity weakly. Minako stared at Serenity and Makoto."Mako?What's wrong?"asked Minako. "Nothing...I'm-I'm just homesick..."she said quietly. "We understand...I feel the same way..."said Ami.Serenity looked up at Makoto."Yes..."she said shakily. Rei hugged Serenity."Nothing to be afraid of...see Mako's homesick too." said Rei rocking her friend. Serenity let Rei hug her.It felt good...*Oh,if only you knew my troubles Rei...I don't know if Endymion even loves me anymore???*she wondered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next day...(masquerade day) Endymion sat under an oak tree.*Why?Does Serenity love me still?I don't understand anymore....if I love her...I shouldn't doubt her love right?So, do I love her???I just don't know anymore.*he thought to himself. Endymion burried his face in his hands.What was he to do???His cousin Dimando had been smirking and grinning...he was up to something....no doubt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Endy?Where have you been?"asked Serenity."Serenity..."he said quietly. "I-I missed you...*she said slowly. "Don't worry Serenity...I won't disappear...I'm always here.."replied Endymion.He hugged her and then let go and walked away.... Serenity stood there...their relationship was falling apart...She stood there wanting to cry.A rose appeared in front of her face. "Those tears don't suit your pretty face beautiful Serenity..."said a voice. Serenity looked up.."Dimando..."she said."Here...."he said handing her the rose.Serenity reached for it hesitantly. "I-I..."she began.But she pulled her hand back,muttered an apology and ran down the hallway back to her room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dimando stood there amused.She was breaking alright...soon..his idiot cousin wouldn't know what a prize he'd lost....or a prize he'd held. He walked down the hallway opposite,chuckling to himself.... *Soon...beautiful Serenity....soon....*he thought to himself as he smiled with glee. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Somewhere else..... Makoto stood by the lake...staring into it's clear crystal water which rippled with utmost tranquility whenever the wind blew through the trees. Such beauty and peacefulness. *Such serenity....much like her friend...perhaps that was why she'd been named the way she was.* She slipped her satin slippers off and dipped her toes into the water. Several ducks swam next to her...greeting her with their friendly quacks. Makoto giggled.She got up and walked into the forest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Molly watched as the girl,Makoto giggled at the swimming ducks.*She's so pure...so beautiful..a beauty she and her friends possess and can be matched by no other....*she thought to herself as Makoto walked off towards the forest. *How can I compete with her???*she asked herself staring at her reflection in the water. Molly continued to stare out into the watery lake unaware of the person approaching behind her.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nephlite approached the lake.He'd been looking for Makoto.Her friends had said she was out here...instead he found Molly.... Nephlite tapped her shoulder.Molly turned with a shock."Nephlite!"she exclaimed surprised. Nephlite chuckled."Hello Molly.Fancy meeting you here..."he said."I could say no less about you Nephlite."said Molly. "Actually,I came to find Makoto...her friends said she'd be here."said Nephlite.Molly felt crushed. "I saw her..she headed towards the woo-oods!!"said Molly getting up and tripping but was caught by Nephlite. Molly stood up but was still holding onto Nephlite.They looked at each other dumbfounded.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Makoto came out of the woods for she'd sprained her ankle by slipping over a moss growned rock.She limped out.... But froze when she saw the sight across the lake.Nephlite and Molly were kissing.Makoto felt her body grow cold and limp...Molly was holding him. Makoto watched as he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist.... Makoto felt tears.....She turned and started to walk as fast as she could ignoring the pain in her ankle...the pain in her heart hurt even more.... *He-he said he would love me forever....he lied!!!Oh God...*she thought to herself as tears spilled from her emerald-eyes as she walked as fast as she could...away from the lake...away from him...away... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nephlite broke the kiss."Molly,I..."he began."Nephlite..."she whispered. He looked down on her blue eyes....suddenly,...he was staring at emerald eyes...they were crying.... Nephlite looked away..."Molly...this is wrong....I.."he began. Molly looked up at him.She was beginning to cry."Nephlite...I"she whispered again."I....loved you..."she whispered crying... Nephlite looked at her...tears flowing from her eyes."Molly I....can't... do...this...."he whispered. "You do not....need...to..explain..I understand..."she said softly. Nephlite clenched his fist."Molly...I'm sorry...I love her...I'm sorry that I hurt you....I-I hope you can find...the happiness I can't give...."he said whispering. Molly looked up."Go to her Nephlite....Tell her..."said Molly still crying tears. Nephlite looked up."Goodbye?"he asked.Molly nodded turning her head away. Serenity was standing by the balcony.Makoto had just told her what had happened.She was resting.She didn't want to see him....Nephlite. *How could he have done that to Mako...*she wondered.*If it were to happen to me....what would I do??*she wondered. She looked towards the ball....Ami,Minako and Rei were dancing with their partners...but giving Nephlite icy cold moods.Endymion was surrounded by girls.Serenity was saddened.Their relationship was getting tense...the bridge they'd built in the New World,crumbling leaving the gap....the void ...the emptiness that threathened to swallow her up.... Serenity hugged herself.She felt cold without his warmth...the balcony allowed her to get away.But not for long......... "Something troubling you Serenity?"asked a voice.Serenity turned to see Endymion's cousin,Dimando.Serenity looked away and closed her eyes. "I-I...wanted to be alone..."she whispered audibly.Dimando smiled at her. He walked next to her and leaned on the balcony marble rail. He reached for her hand."You're so cold Serenity..."he said massaging her fingers warming them.... "S-St-Stop that...."she said pulling away.Tears threathened to fall. "What is wrong?"he asked again seductively. "I-I..."she said but burst into sobs.Dimando took the oportunity and snaked his arms around her slim waist meeting in front.She didn't struggle.. she was cold....as ice...her heart even colder. She felt warm...loved...most of all safe....Dimando smiled to himself. He pulled her down the steps from the balcony..towards the rose garden. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Endymion scanned the ball room for Serenity but found her no where..... The girls were surrounding him like flies attracted to a piece of food. She'd looked stunning as ever tonight...he longed to dance and hold her but doubt and fear that she no longer loved him always crept into his mind. So he avoided her.... Endymion searched again but did not find her....*Where is she???* he wondered to himself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dimando led Serenity towards the rose gardens...."Tell me...what bothers you so..."he whispered. Tears were still flowing freely..."I-I don't know if Endy loves me anymore he's so distant now...."she said between sobs. Dimando smiled to himself...*Oh the fool....*he thought to himself. "Shhh..."he said, lifting her head."The fool doesn't deserve you."whispered Dimando in her ear. Serenity's small frame shook with sobs..."I love him so much Dimando.." said Serenity. Dimando hugged her.She being as weak as she was now only hugged him back. "Shush Serenity,...do not cry over a person who doesn't treasure you..."he coaxed. Serenity looked up.Dimando smiled down at her...*She's mine...*he thought to himself. He leaned down and kissed her.Serenity responded to the kiss.Suddenly, Serenity's eyes flew open. She struggled against his grip...But he was too strong.He pulled her nearer...crushing her small frame against his.... In desperation Serenity kicked his shin which made him break his hold. He had a wild look in his eyes.Serenity backed away.He was angry alright.... "HOW DARE YOU!!!"he shouted bringing down a hand on her face.He slapped her again.Serenity flew against a tree where Dimando had thrown her.... She was shocked.Dimando then realized her bruised body."Serenity I'm sorry..."he said. Serenity backed away from him...running.*Oh dear spirits...Help me...*she thought to herself as tears began to stream down her cheeks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serenity did not stop until she reached Makoto's room.....She threw the door open and Makoto woke up with a jolt. "Serenity!"exclaimed Makoto."Oh, Mako!!"she cried.Makoto lit a candle and held it up.She saw Serenity's face red from the slap.Makoto gasped. "Serenity!!"she exclaimed."D-Did Endymion....."began Makoto. "NO!!"replied Serenity crying."Who Serenity..Who...??"asked Makoto.Serenity shook her head..."I won't tell you....I-I betrayed my love....Even if he no longer loves me,I'll always love him..but I betrayed his love by kissing somebody else!!..."she said whispering.... "Oh Serene..."said Makoto."Serenity,...does he not love you anymore?"asked Makoto.."I-I don't know Mako,Oh help me..."she whispered. "Shhhh...it's alright..."said Makoto hugging her.Serenity broke from the hug.. "No,I cannot stay here anymore....I never should have come in the first place....It was a mistake...I don't...belong...here..."said Serenity crying to herself. "Serenity...don't.."began Makoto."Don't you see???!!!I never should have left the tribe!!!He and I...we never should have met...I'm confused.... He'll never forgive me for betraying our love...my love for him...And how do I face Dimando without running."she whispered. "Mako....I'm leaving...I...cannot stay anymore...There's a ship that leaves England for the New World tonight.....I'm going home.."said Serenity. "I-I'm never coming back...say goodbye to Ami and the others for me...I'll miss them..."she whispered as a single tear rolled down her cheek. "No.."said Makoto.Serenity looked up.."I-I want to go with you..."finished Makoto. "Makoto...you don't need to follow me..."said Serenity."I'm not...I cannot face Nephlite nor Molly...I like you,cannot stay here..."said Makoto. Serenity stared at her friend..."Mako,I..thank you..."she whispered. Makoto smiled.They started writing three letters.One for their friends... Makoto and Serenity pulled traveller's cloaks over their heads...The ball was still going strong...It would last till midnight...they had 3 hours to depart... Makoto and Serenity slipped into the night vanishing......They reached the port with 1 and a half hours to spare...before they were discovered missing. The ship left in half and hour.... Serenity and Makoto walked up to the captain..."Excuse me sir..."began Serenity.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Half-an-hour later..... Serenity stood on deck watching the ship pull away from main land.... She would never step on England again would she?? A single tear rolled down her cheek....Makoto came up behind her... "Serenity..."she whispered. "Mako,do you think...we'll ever see Ami and the others again?"asked Serenity. Makoto shrugged..."Who knows Serenity?Destiny might bring us together again...."whispered Makoto as she herself shed a few tears... Don't worry about us...We've gone...home...and we will never be coming back to England...We just couldn't stay here...We're very sorry for not telling you,but the three of you are so happy here..We could never break your hearts telling you we wanted to leave... Remember us,darling friends...We'll miss you.One last favor from all of you...Please,..never tell Nephlite or Endy or anyone where we are.... keep it as your secret...this..is our last wish...from all of you... Nephlite went to the bed..he saw a letter there...."Who..could have put this here??"he asked aloud. He opened it slowly and a familliar cursive handwriting was seen.... Nephlite, By the time you read this,I'll be gone...I am never coming back to England..I'm sorry...I hope you and Molly will be happy...I made a mistake coming to England..And now I must rectify it by going away... Please,do not try to look for me...I do not want to cry... Whatever happens...I will love you always...I wish you find happiness with Molly...the happiness I cannot give...Goodbye... Endy, By this time,I would be far away from England...Forgive me my love, but I cannot stay here...Do not think it is your fault for it is not. Even if you do not love me anymore I always will...I made a mistake coming to England...I will never return...Before I left the New World,you asked me to marry you...I said yes..but now perhaps this dream of mine can never be fulfilled...I wish you happiness my love...wherever I am whatever happens,I will always love you....Forgive me... Forget about me and move on.....I'll always love you Endy,no matter what happens............ "True...but whatever happened to them,...the best medicine is time and family..."said Rei. Minako smiled.."Is that the Medicine girl I hear speaking?"asked Minako teasingly.Rei threw a pillow at her. "Well seriously,do we follow their wishes and not tell anybody where they have gone?"asked Minako. "It was their last wish before they left..."said Ami.Rei nodded..."We have to follow their wishes...they are our friends.."said Rei.
