Haruka was amazed by the beauty of the little girl. She was like a smaller version of Michiru. "She looks like me, eh?" Haruka nodded and shook her hand with the little girl's. "Hi, Suiko. I'm Haruka Ten'ou." "Hi," said the five-year-old kid in an icy voice, "Michiru-nee-san has told me you live here with her." "That's right." Suiko gave her a smart look. "Why? Don't you have somewhere else to live in?" Haruka smiled even more, enchanted by the way this Chibi-Michiru behaved. "Because Michiru and I must always be together. You'll understand that in some years." "Right." The girl looked everywhere, while Michiru and Haruka looked at her in wonder. "May I go to my new room?" "Sure, Suiko," said Michiru smiling, "It's upstairs, the one with your name in the door." "Ok." The kid ran upstairs with a bag in her arm. "So, what do you think of my little sister?" "She'll be a problem child, I just know it... but I like her." <12 years ago> "Mother!" cried Michiru, almost dropping the phone. Haruka looked at her from the kitchen's table. She got her coffee cup and left to their room. She knew that sometimes mother- daughter talks turned out to be noisy. "Michiru, it's not such a terrible thing." "You should have told me. You already knew it in father's service... You knew you were pregnant!" "Yes, but I didn't thought it was appropriate to say such a thing by then. It's a bit embarrassing to get pregnant days before your husband passes away." "You are 60 years old, mom!" Mrs. Kaiou sighed. "I know! That's why I had to tell you. It's a pretty risky pregnancy at my age. My lawyer needs me to get a guardian for my child. I only thought in you." Michiru sat in a chair. "Mother, don't you talk like that." "Please, Michiru. You are the person I most trust in the whole world." "I... You know that if by any chance I have her, I'll raise her with Haruka." Michiru's mom was silent for a moment. "I know that, but I don't care. I trust you'll do your best for my baby." Michiru smiled. "I will. Count with me, mother." <3 months ago> "You are really talented, Suiko." The girl smiled shyly. She loved to be complimented about her talents. Especially by Haruka. "Thanks, Haruka-chan." The blonde girl looked at her with pride. Suiko had learned to play piano with her, and was getting better every day. "Dinner is ready," called Michiru. Suiko's face got disappointment. "Ok, Michiru. Suiko, you heard you sister," said Haruka getting up of the piano. "But we are having fun, Haruka-chan." "Come on." Suiko's eyes hardened. "I don't want to! I want to be with you, not with Michiru!" Suiko ran to her room, shut the door and started to cry. Michiru looked at the scene from the stairs. "What happened?" wondered Haruka. "She has a crush on you, Haruka. She's just 15 years old, but loves the way you treat her. And so, now she hates me." Haruka looked at the floor. "I see..." <7 years and a week ago> "Mother," cried Michiru entering the hospital's room, "I came as fast I could." Her mother gave her a weak smile from her bed. She had had a heart-attack and wasn't recovering as the doctor wished. "Michiru," mumbled Mrs. Kaiou taking her eldest daughter's hands, "Take good care of Suiko. She's so young..." "I will, mother." The little girl looked at them from the door. <2 months ago> "Suiko is eating so little," said Michiru in despair, taking the girl's plate from the table. Once again, her sister had left dinner barely eating. "I see," said Haruka reading the newspaper. Michiru washed the dishes and then sat at her side sorting the mail. "You've got a letter, Haruka! How weird, I can't remember the last time you ever had mail." She stared at the envelope. "It's from, Hayai Ten'ou?" Michiru remembered that was Haruka's father's name, but he had died years ago. Haruka wasn't paying attention, so she opened the envelope and a photograph fell to the table. She took it and looked in shock to Haruka. "Who is this child? You have a kid?" Haruka finally looked at her and smiled as she saw photo. It showed a boy's face that was almost a Haruka clone. <30 years ago + years Crystal Tokyo was frozen> "How dare you, Hayai!" cried Haruko Ten'ou. Little Haruka was at her side, don't really listening of what her mother was shouting to her father. With her parents was a young smiling woman who had just reached them, holding a little boy's hand. Haruka walked to him while the grown-ups continued fighting. "Hi," greeted the girl. "Hi! What's you name? How old are you?" answered the boy mechanically. Haruka noticed he was a couple years younger than her. "I'm Haruka Ten'ou. And you?" "I'm Hayai Ten'ou," said the boy proudly. Haruka smiled. "That's funny. Your name is as my father's." The boy blinked and looked at Hayai Ten'ou Sr. "Is that you father? He's mine too." Haruka grinned. "Really? That means you are my little brother." Haruko heard that and took Haruka's hand violently. "Don't you call him like that!" She pushed her daughter apart from Hayai Jr. Mr. Ten'ou looked at her with anger. "But he is her brother, Haruko. He is my son, the son you could never give me." Haruka continued to ignore the grown-ups and smiled to Hayai. He did too. <1 month ago> "Calm down, Michiru. You are way too imaginative," said Haruka, "Hayai is my brother." Michiru raised her eyebrows. "Your mother said you were only child." "Of hers," clarified the blonde one looking at the picture, "My dad had a son with his mistress, probably because mom refused to have more than one kid and he wanted a son so badly... He named him after him. This photo is from my nephew: Kinpatsu." Michiru took the photo and smiled embarrassed. "He's very cute... But, why didn't you tell me?" "It's kind of a family secret: Mom doesn't want anyone to know. I'm in good terms with Hayai, though. His wife is an open-minded Catholic and she made me Kinpatsu's godmother." Michiru nodded. "They write me at times, mostly to the Car-race Center. I wonder why he wrote to this address..." <12 years ago> "I'm so glad you could come, Haruka." She entered the room red as a tomato, guided by her brother. Hayai's wife was in bed, holding her newborn son. "Come and hold you nephew, Haruka," asked the new mother. Haruka got near and took the baby boy. "He's so precious." "He's just as his aunt." Haruka smiled to the baby. <1 month ago> "They have gone in some vacation to the mountains. They want to visit us when they return..." Haruka smiled at Michiru. "Hayai wants to meet you. He says I've been hiding you ever since I'm with you." Michiru smiled and rested her head in Haruka's shoulder. "Maybe you are afraid I'll leave you for a man that looks like you." Haruka smiled and hugged her. <3 hours ago> "It's for you, Haruka-san!" Haruka took the phone Suiko handed her. "Yes? ... When? ... But is he...? I'm going right away." She hanged the phone and noticed her eyes were red. Michiru walked to her, concerned. "What's wrong?" "Hayai... They had an accident when they were coming back from the mountains. They've just arrived at the Juuban Hospital... Ami called. Yukimi, his wife, has already died." Michiru held Haruka; she had never seen her so crushed. "I have to see him... before he goes." "Let's go," whispered Michiru, while Suiko looked at them worried. She had never seen Haruka cry. <2 hours ago> Haruka rushed to the hospital's room, just when a nurse was covering the patient's face. Her face crushed. "No..." The nurse gave her a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry for your loss." "My brother..." Michiru came in and held her. "How is Kinpatsu?" "You mean, the boy?" Michiru nodded, as Haruka continued to grieve. "He's fine. We told her about her father minutes ago and gave him something to sleep. He'll be fine." Michiru smiled and took Haruka out. Haruka and Michiru opened the door slowly. "I don't know what to tell him," mumbled Haruka. She had put herself together, but looked at the sleeping boy with a mix of emotions. Suiko passed them by. "I do know." She walked to the bed and looked at the boy. She blushed. "He's so much like you, Haruka-san." Kinpatsu opened his eyes slowly and looked at Suiko with wonder. "Are you an angel?" "No. I'm Suiko Kaiou. You are Kinpatsu, right?" He nodded. "Yes. I was in a car accident... and my parents died." His face was about to cry when Suiko touched his cheek. "It hurts now, but you'll go on. Don't worry, you'll have a new family... and I'll be part of it." She turned to Michiru and Haruka. Kinpatsu smiled when he saw his aunt. "You know Aunt Haruka?" "Yes, she's so much like you." She sat in a chair at her side and started chatting to him. Haruka looked at them. "He seemed relieved of his pain when he looks at her." "Suiko is a great girl, we raised her." Michiru gave Haruka a sweet look. She turned to her. "Michiru... Now Kinpatsu will have to live with out, as soon he is out of the hospital." "I know that, and I wouldn't have thought something different." She took Haruka's hand and turned to the kids. "Look at Suiko, she is blooming again." Suiko smiled at Kinpatsu. "Wow, you do motocross!" "Since I was ten." "So cool! I hope you'll take me in your motorcycle for a ride." "I'll love too." Both teenagers looked at each other and felt how Uranus' and Neptune's blood once again found a way to be together.
