I wasn't ready to leave home when I did. Haruka and I seemed to be very close... But by the time our last mission was achieved, we were bored. I know all this seems a bit frivolous of my part. All our friends were convinced we were kindred spirits. But now we weren't together anymore. Haruka got a new girlfriend some weeks ago. A girlfriend no one seems to believe, actually. But I'm not surprised. I always thought Ami was a watered-version of me. "Michiru-mama!" Hotaru ran to me and we hugged. She's like my kid. I'm one of the three mother figures she has. One, her real one, died when she was very young. "I'm so glad to see you, Hotaru." I had been in Europe for a while, ever since Haruka and I had broken up. Hotaru had been with Setsuna and Haruka for a while. "Is anyone home?" "Setsuna-mama went out with her mysterious boyfriend. Haruka-papa is out with Ami-san." Ami-san. She means Ami Mizuno. Who could have thought she was like us? I really though she loved Urawa-kun. "Whatever. Would you like to go ice-skating?" She gave me a wide smile. "Sure!" Hotaru and I are pretty good skaters, and I'm not bragging. We were there, having fun, when I saw something I couldn't believe. Ami was being held by Haruka. "Michiru-mama?" "I can't handle this anymore." I'm not an impulsive girl: most of time. I stood in front of them. "Haruka! I can tolerate you dating her and all, but you shouldn't bring her here. This is a special place for me and Hotaru." Haruka blinked. "You have come back..." I smiled arrogantly at the one that had spoken. "Yes I did, Ami. Isn't it obvious if I'm standing in front of you?" Haruka gave me a hard look. "Watch the language you use with my girl." That hurt me... I had always been her girl. "Haruka..." "Aaaah!" We turned. This ugly-daimon was attacking a young boy. We transformed in the confusion. And then, it happened... "Haruka!" No matter how fast she was. The ray that came from the enemy passed through her. My tears started to fall, as I saw her corpse disappearing. Ami had fallen in her knees, at her side. "You!" I cried looking at the daimon. All the white parts of my sailor suit turned to black. So did Ami's, as she stood. "Dark Water Revenge Reflection!" "Dark Ice Death Beam!" We both attacked at the same time. The daimon died. We looked at the place were Haruka had disappeared. Hotaru was sitting in the ice, upset. "It's you fault," said Ami. "What? You had to take her here, don't you?" "You!" "Stop!" cried a terrible voice. We turned. Mistress 9 looked at us. "Die!" All the ice exploded. I felt how I started to drown in the icy water. We both opened our eyes at the same time. "Ami." "Michiru." We were surrounded by darkness. "Where are we?" mumbled Ami. I looked at her. "I don't care. Haruka is dead." Ami turned. "She died in peace, thinking in our love." "Shut up, she obviously remembered me." "You wish!" "STOP!" We turned again to see the owner of the voice. An angry-looking Sailor Pluto was in front of us. "Setsuna-san," said 'that' girl. "You caused the end of the world, you know?" "What?" "Haruka's destiny was changed by you two, so was Hotaru's and so was Earth." My eyes widened. "We did it?" "Earth is dead?" "Yes. Someone changed destiny. I haven't located the instant, but you helped with your confrontations. You'll have to stop the destiny switch before I'm changed too." Ami looked at me with scorn. "I won't work with her." "You will, or else. Your hearts, full of envy, have caused a glimpse in time. Your suits are even black now." We noticed it then. "Yes..." "Now I'll take you to a moment near the destiny switch. You must stop it from happening." We fell in the space until we got in another black world. "What is this place?" "The fate world. Here everyone is blind and meets people by chance. If they make each other fall, they'll hate forever. If they kiss, they'll be lovers. If they hold each other's hands, they are soul mates. If they shake hands, they'll be friends. Otherwise, they won't feel anything special for each other. Unrequited love is marked by a star in an eye with the loved one's name written down. Old lovers have a sign in their cheek. And the names of everyone's parents are written in the back. Locate anything abnormal that changed fate. Good luck." We looked at each other as Sailor Pluto disappeared and the place was filled with building and blind people walking around. "We should try to find ourselves first, don't you think?" "I guess." We split to cover more territory (and get away from each other). Everyone around walked without a way. Some stopped for a while and seemed to be sleeping. I saw a couple fell down and disappear. I supposed they had died. Then, I saw a peculiar group. Usagi was holding Mamoru, and they were surrounded by four girls. "The Inner Senshi protecting the Royal Couple. Ami... If you die now, we won't cause the end of the world. I'll be careful so no one but Ami gets hurt by my dark attack..." I got in position and screamed the attack name. But nothing happened. "What's wrong?" Setsuna's face appeared in the sky. "Are you nuts? You can't kill a fate in this world. You'll better learn how to behave before something horrible happens to you." "I'm sorry." I couldn't believe that I had almost killed a Sailor Senshi. Haruka, I'm really sad... please, help me. Suddenly, I heard a noise. A black-dressed woman was walking through the fates and she wasn't blind at all. I stood calmly, trying to trick her into believing I was another fate. The intruder walked looking at everyone. But in a moment of distraction, she hit Ami and both fell in the ground. The intruder gave her a hateful look and left running. "That girl..." Darkened Ami came to me. "I found your fate." "And I found yours. But it has just made an enemy." She seemed to think. "A light-haired girl?" "Yes." "She was near you before. I was..." She looked at the sky and sighed. "I'll better tell you. I pushed Haruka to you, but instead of falling you kissed. But when you got separated, that girl came along. I stood still and then she saw you. Her eye got an aquamarine star around it. She felt in love with you." That was uncomfortable. "Then, she loves me and hates you. I guess we should find Haruka and see if the intruder has feelings for her," suggested Ami. We started to the way Ami had seen Haruka an instant ago. We couldn't find her. And then, we saw Chibi-Usa. "Look." We looked at her, her parents' name shining in golden letters at her back. Then, we saw the intruder moving Ami's fate to some place. "We have to follow her." So we did. The strange girl took us right to Haruka. She and my fate were holding hands. "We are soul mates," I whispered. The intruder pushed me away from Haruka and tried to force Ami to kiss Haruka. "Stop!" I couldn't bare this anymore. Ami was shocked, noticing her fate had been changed by force. "It wasn't my destiny to be with her..." The intruder looked at us, surprised. "You two?" "Yes, but not them. We won't let you change our fates, whoever you are!" I was furious, and Ami had fallen in the ground. As I was distracted, I didn't notice a little girl walking near us. Ami looked at her. She was very alike to her, but her figure was vanishing. "Who is her?" The little girl turned and walked away. But Ami had seen the names in her back, one of which was hers. "She'll be my kid." The intruder laughed. "No, she won't. I'll make you love this woman and the green one will be mine." "Never!" I cried. She was mad. "Who are you?" The intruder smiled. "I'm Fortuna, and I want your fate." Ami stood up. "My kid will be born. Haruka and Michiru are meant to be." I smiled to her. "Ami..." She came next to me. "Let's vanquish this loony fate." "Sure." We joined hands. "Dark Water Blue Destiny Beam!" Blue Water covered Fortuna. She turned into ice and broke into pieces. We smiled. I saw how my fate walked to Haruka's and held their hands. Ami saw that her kid had stopped vanishing. "We did it," she whispered. "Yes, we could work out our differences." "We are equals, Michiru," she said with a serious face. Setsuna appeared in the sky again. "You have corrected the ways of destiny, so everything will be as it should. But now your bodies and souls are going to disappear to join your corrected selves." We looked at each other, and nodded. "We know." It was so obvious... We'll forget about this and lead a life where Haruka and I will keep together, Hotaru won't become Mistress 9 and Earth will live. "Well, the transfer will take a few seconds. Good luck and thanks." Setsuna disappeared. We faced each other. "We won't remember this and we'll be friends." "I guess." Ami's eyes were a bit dark. "Don't be sad, Ami, your destiny will be the best you could have." "I know, but I'll miss this life even if I don't remember it." I touched her face. "Me too. What if we give us something to remember?" She smiled. We kissed as the dimension we belonged to, disappeared with us. "Michiru-mama!" I was skating with Hotaru and Haruka. "Yes, Hotaru?" "You seem distant." "What an irony," said Haruka. I smiled. Something felt so right... I saw Ami trying to skate near us. Hotaru went to her side. "Ami-chan, come join us." "Hi, Hotaru... Well, I'll do." She skated to us with some difficulty. "Hi, Haruka! Hi, Michiru!" "Hi!" we answered. Ami and I exchanged a look and blushed, strangely. "What's up?" asked Haruka as we were silent. "I don't know," we both said. "Let's skate," said Hotaru cheerfully, been followed by Haruka. "Sure," I said. We both followed Hotaru and Haruka. Ami and I looked at each other. "It's a weird sensation I have when I see you now, Ami..." "Me too... Well, I guess its some kind of dejá vu." I smiled calmly. "I guess so..." I turned to Haruka and I was filled with joy.
