Ancient Chosun
Bronze Culture in Ancient Chosun
As the first kingdom appearing on the Korean peninsula, Kojoson (Ancient Chosun) was founded by Tan'gun Wanggom in 2,333 BC. According to the national mythology, its founding father Tan'gun was the son born between the son of God, Hwangung, and Woongnyo, woman incarnated from a bear.
Culturally it was based on the Bronze culture. Later the Iron culture was introduced around 4 B.C. However, it came to an end due to aggression from Han China.
Koin-Rock: The picture above is called Romen, which was the grave of tribal king during the era of Ancient Chosun. The rock was so huge that the people could not move it by human power. So they used a kind of pulley to move the big rock and putted it on the two small rocks.
