Akane and Ranma met Genma outside Dr. Tofu's clinic. Ranma got hurt by a baseball, and while Dr. Tofu is treating him, someone calls. After receiving the call, Akane seems in a hurry to leave. Ranma soon finds out it's because Kasumi, Dr. Tofu's love interest is coming over...
Unluckly for Ranma, Kasumi arrives just as Dr. Tofu is having a look at Ranma's wound, and as Dr. Tofu got too excited, Ranma's head got stuck sideways...
When Ranma gets home, he finds a rather upset Akane in the Dojo practising her martial arts. By making a face at her, he got his neck cured, and won the resulting match by telling her " You look cuter when you smile. ", then pushing her. Of course, sneaking up on her after that gave him another crooked neck...
Now, we see a huge wild boar rushing towards a young man with a bandana on his head. The boar has sent the whole town into a frenzy, but the youth defeats the wild boar easily with his umbrella. He is lost...and searching for Fuurinkan High's Ranma.
The youth has finally reached Fuurinkan High. Spotting Ranma, he aims his umbrella at Ranma, intent on having a battle with him. He is no other than Ryouga Hiibiki, Ranma's old classmate. Apparently, his vengence stems from the fact that Ranma used to rush lunch with him, and always won. On the day of the battle, a strong fight breaks out. They seem to be equally strong, but when Akane tries to pick up the umbrella Ryouga dropped, it is too heavy for her. But Ryouga is able to lift it up with one hand! Is Ryouga too strong for Ranma?
Ranma, however, proves match for Ryouga, but reveals his girl form and has to leave when Akane is in danger of getting hit by Ryouga's flying bandanas. Upon carrying her to safety, to two start squabbling, and Akane gets provoked by Ranma. In a hurry to make up with Akane, Ranma kicks Ryouga's belt out of his hands, and the belt cuts Akane's long tresses off...
