Sorry for the long delay in this fic.  First I spent little time on it
over the summer, then the original copy of this chapter got corrupted, 
so I had to start all over.

Sailor Scouts R - Chapter 12: Detention Doldrums

	Another peaceful day in Tokyo.  Peaceful that is, until 
pedestrians on a side walk yelped to get out of the way of 3 teenagers 
on a mad dash to school.  Amy had plenty to say on this, "That is the 
last time I go to Ray's for a fire reading in the mornings, before 
school."

Lita piped in, "That reading took forever."

"Well, I'd love to stay with you two, but this is where I turn for my 
school.  See ya," was Mina's reply before turning down another road.

	Lita and Amy managed to make it to school just as their bell 
rang, but Mina wasn't so lucky.  By the time she managed to get 
through the locked gate and into class, her teacher was mad when she 
saw her, "MINA, DETENTION!!!  Since I'm busy tonight you will be 
serving it at Crossroads Junior High with Ms. Haruna."  Mina just 
sighed and sat down.

	Ann's day was just as bad.  She couldn't understand the poetry 
assignment, so when Ms. Haruna asked Ann to read the assignment out 
loud, Ann did poetry in her native language.  To Ms. Haruna, it 
sounded like a bunch of gibberish, so... "Ann you just earned yourself 
detention."

	Ann said, "Fine."

	Some time later, Ann and Allen were on the school roof.  Ann 
filled in Allen on what happened in her poetry class and Allen asked, 
"So you told people you were an alien?"

	Ann said, "No, they just thought I was being a class clown."

	"And why did you start talking in our native language?"

	"I couldn't think."

	"It's your energy level again, isn't it," at Ann's nod, Allen 
continued, "Don't worry Ann, I'll find you some tonight."

	"Why don't you snatch some from Ms. H?  She's got plenty to 
burn."

	"Not a bad idea, lets start with a cardien.  Pick a card Ann, 
any card," Allen said as he held out his stack of cards.

	Just as Ann was about to select a card Mina came up the stair 
shouting, "Ann, come on, we have detention, remember.  We need to go 
now or she will double it, believe a friend I know would speak from 
experience."

	Mina grabbed Ann's hand and began dragging Ann down the stairs 
as Ann asked, "What's detention?"

	Mina looked at Ann with a weird look and asked, "You don't 
know what detention is?  Boy are you lucky."

	That was all Allen heard before they were out of earshot, "Ann 
has detention, with Mina.  I can't drain energy from her, so I'll have 
to find someone else."  With that, Allen disappeared into thin air.

	In the park, Lita met up with Ray by the fountain as Ray asked,
"Where's Mina?  I thought we were going to her place to study."

	Lita informed, "Cancelled, she got detention, and is serving it
at Crossroads, which is unusually odd.  So why don't we go see a movie 
instead."

	Luna and Artemis didn't like the idea, knowing what the girls 
would want to see, so Luna piped in, "Oh yuck.  I'll hurl if I have to 
see another one of those mushy movies."

	But the girls ignored her as Ray shoved the cats into a sports 
bag when she said, "Quiet or I'll make sure Mina doesn't give you two 
any Tuna tonight."

	Back at school, Mina and Ann were in detention and Ms. H was 
giving the girls their detention assignment, "Alright, I want a 1 page 
essay.  The topic is 'Why school is important to me.'  And no wise 
cracks either or I'll double your detention."

	Just then a man from the office poked his head into the class 
room, "Oh, Patricia, you have a phone call."

	"Thanks," Ms. H replied and turned to the girls, "I'll be 
right back you two.  Stay putt."  With that she left to take her call 
in the office.

	Mina sat back a bit and said, "Twenty bucks says she won't be 
back cause she has a date from that phone call."

	"Your on," Ann said as she started backing her stuff.

	Mina noticed this and said, "Where are you going?"

	"You said she would most likely not stick around. Why stay if 
that's the case?"

	"Cause we have an essay to finish, and I know you want to try 
to get Darien, again."

	"Have you been following me?"

	Mina just turned her head, "Well someone has to keep an eye on 
you.  I will not stand by and watch my friend's boyfriend get snagged, 
while she's out of town, by the likes of you."

	"Hah, you just want Darien for yourself," Ann replied 
matter-of-factly.

	Mina was outraged, "That is so not true.  First I don't try 
stealing other people's boyfriends, unlike you, and second I already 
have a potential boyfriend."

	Ann just grinned, "I don't really believe you about that 
girlfriend out of town bit, but lets settle this once and for all.  We 
finish this essay.  The first one done has to back down."

	"Your on," was Mina's reply before the 2 sat back in their 
desks and got cracken.

	Meanwhile, high above Tokyo above a skyscraper, Allen was 
standing on an antenna and he took a card out of his pocket and 
through it.  He then pulled out his flute and shouted, "Cardien 
Insectia, I summon you."  Allen began playing his flute and the melody 
began to affect the card.  It grew in size before changing shape into 
the creature printed on the card.

	After the unusually slow process, the cardien finished shaping 
itself as it said, "Insectia, I'm here."

	"Took you long enough, " was Allen's reply before looking down 
on the streets and saw Darien walking with his face in a book.  Allen 
looked with anger as he thought, "It's that guy Darien, the one Ann 
likes so much.  Ann needs energy, so why not take some from him."  
Allen turned to Insectia and commanded, "Insectia, I want you to go to 
the schools and drain everyone of their energy, but on your way, I want
to get that guy down on the street."

	"No way," was the cardien's reply before disappearing.

	Allen looked left and right, looking for Insectia before she 
landed on, and jumped off of, his head.  Allen almost lost his balance,
but regained it before turning around and saying, "Wow, strange 
cardien."

	At another school, Amy was in her computer class, taking notes 
from the lecture, when the wall behind the teacher exploded and 
Insectia flew in.  One of the students looked up and asked, "Wow, what 
is that?"

	Amy shouted, "It's a cardien."  Insectia wasted no time and 
grabbed 2 kids, draining them of their energy, before releasing them, 
and taking off back out the whole she made.  Amy wasted not time and 
took out her mini computer and communicator, and began typing, "I've 
got to get the scouts on this right away."

	At the movie, Lita got Amy's call, "What's up Amy?"

	Ray overheard Lita asking this and took out her own 
communicator and asked, "Hay, what's going on?"

	Amy cut to the chase, "Some wacko cardien just crashed my 
computer class and zapped 2 kids."

	Lita said, "Punched in its escape route and we'll try to 
intercept."  With that, the girls closed their communicators and ran 
out of the theater, with a purple haired individual following them.

	Trunks had been following the girls all afternoon, and when he 
overheard the conversation, thanks to his saiyan hearing, he said to 
himself, "Finally, some action.  I'm not into mushy movies.  Give me 
action flicks any day."  As soon as he was out side, Trunks took to 
the air and followed Ray and Lita.

	In Tokyo Park, Ms. H was, as Mina predicted, on a date with her
boyfriend, Robert.  However their peaceful walk, however, was 
interrupted by Insectia.  At the sight of her, the couple screamed and 
ran for it.

	As soon as the couple was out of sight, Allen appeared and 
commanded, "Hold on a minute Insectia, you didn't get that guy."

	"So what," was the cardien's reply as she dove into the lake 
and drained the ducks.

	Allen just glared at Insectia, "No, not the ducks.  What's 
wrong with you Insectia?  I want that guy."

	"Well you wont get him," said a voice behind Allen.

	He turned to see 3 of the scouts, "Oh great, it's the sailor 
scout.  No problem, we can take you on anyday."

	Insectia, however, had other plans, and jumped out of the lake 
saying, "I'm out of here."

	Allen watched Insectia jump into some bushes as she fled.  He 
then turned to the scouts, "This isn't over yet."  With that, he 
teleported away.

	Lita commented, "That was weird."

	Ray added in, "Ya, he had no control over her."

	Amy was typing away at her computer, tracking the cardien, 
"I've got it.  It's heading for Crossroads Junior High."  With that, 
the scouts made a mad dash for the school.

	Back at Crossroads, Mina and Ann were still in detention.  Ann 
wasn't doing too good as she thought, "I'm so drained.  I'm so tired I 
can't even remember what the essay topic was."  Ann then looked over 
at Mina as she was writing away, and an idea sparked into her head, 
"Of course I can just drain her energy.  Mina's been at that essay so 
much, her brain is probably at its maximum output now."  Just as Ann 
was about to reach and touch the back of Mina's neck, Insectia came in 
through the classroom door and crashed through the window, landing in 
the playground below.  Mina ran to the now broken window, and looked 
down to notice the scouts had it surrounded.

	Mina was so focused on the events below, she didn't feel Ann 
touch her back as she lost some of her energy, just before Allen 
appeared.  Ann gasped out at Allen's alien form and shouted before she 
could stop herself, "Allen!"

	Allen opened up their telepathic link and said into Ann's mind,
"That's cardien is out of control.  She wont listen to me."

	Ann said, as she transformed into her alien form, "Let's go, I 
just got some energy from Mina here."  With that, the 2 teleported out 
of the room, with Mina, barely able to stay on her feet because of the 
energy drain she was unaware she just had.

	On the battlefield, the battle was starting to heat up, 
literally, as Mars shouted her attack.

	"MARS FIRE IGITE"

	Her fire surrounded the cardien, and singed her skin as she 
said, "I'm going to sting you all."  With that Insectia ran at the 
scouts and sent them flying off their feet.

	Luna and Artemis watch as the scouts were being beaten, and 
Luna spoke up, "We have to find Sailor Venus."

	Artemis looked up and saw Mina at the now destroyed window, 
"Well, I'll be."

	Luna looked up and said, "That girl, why hasn't she 
transformed yet?"  Luna took to a run to get to Mina.

	On the school roof, Allen and Ann watched the battle unfold, 
and Allen said, "Might as well let her go at it for a while."

	Ann nodded and said, "If she can get rid of the scouts, she'd 
be doing us a favor."  That said, the 2 continued to watch the battle.

	Mina was continuing to hold onto the wall, trying to regain 
her strength.  She managed to recover enough to stay standing without 
and problems, and said, "Hang in their guys."

	Luna came up behind Mina and said, "Mina, why haven't you 
transformed?"

	Mina looked at Luna and said, "Luna I feel exhausted."

	Luna didn't bother to catch on to this statement, "MINA, THEY 
NEED YOU!!!"

	Mina thought, "Ok, I hope I have enough strength for this."  
Then she said, "Ok, I'll rest later."  Mina then took out her wand.

	"VENUS POWER"

	After she finished transforming, Mina jumped out the hole 
Insectia made and landed in front of the other scout, "Hi guys."

	Mars grunted, "Took you long enough."

	Mina replied, "Just thought I'd let you have some fun Mars."  
Mina took out the moon tiara and tried charging it for an attack.

	"MOON TIARA MAGIC"

	However, the energy disc only got halfway to its target before 
losing power and fell to the floor.  The Scouts gasped in shock as 
Mina said, "OH no, not NOW!  THE TIARA LOST ITS CHARGE."

	Luckily, someone anticipated this, for a figure appeared from 
above and sliced Insectia in half with his sword.  Insectia's top half 
began sliding off her bottom half, but the mystery guy wasn't done yet 
and brought his hands together shouting an attack.

	"BURNING ATTACK"

	An energy blast shot out from his hands and slammed into 
Insectia, destroying her to such a degree, not even the card was left.

	The Scout looked in shock as this mystery person took out a 
cardien with ease, when they were having problems with it.  Sailor 
Mars asked, "Who are you?"

	The guy turned to face the Scouts and said, "My name is Trunks.
Sorry I can't stay long but I have other matters to attend to.  Till 
next time."  With that, Trunks took to a run, and gathered energy 
around him before pushing off the ground, flying into the sky.

	Mina looked up in aw, put then turned to walk back into the 
school, "Got to go guys.  I still have an essay to finish, and Ms. H 
is going to love it."  Mina picked up the Tiara on her way in and gave 
it to Amy, "Take a look at it Ames, ok?  Meeting tomorrow at the 
temple, since it's a weekend."

	Allen and Ann were also shocked at how easily their cardien 
bit the dust, and Allen said, "The guy is going to be a problem if he 
appears again."

	Ann spoke up, "Maybe the best way to beat the scouts is on our 
own turf."

	Allen said, "I agree.  The Doom tree won't last much longer if 
this keeps up."  With that, the 2 alien's put their disguises back on 
and teleported away.

	Ann managed to make it back to the detention room before Mina 
and the 2 got back to work.  They finished the assignment at the same 
time and declared their contest a draw.

	Just then Amy and Lita walked in and Lita asked, "Hay Mina. 
Ready to go."

	Amy said, "We're going for burgers."

	Mina said, "Be right there.  Hay Ann, want to come?"

	Ann said, "No thanks.  Got to study for my test tomorrow."  
Mina shrugged her shoulders and left as Ann thought, "Thanks for the 
energy Mina."
