This page is devoted to my friendship with my best friend in the whole wide world, Janessa Inong! Janessa and I are both seventeen years old, and members of SUHI's MIGHTY Class of 2000! Jan and I officially met each other during our freshman year of high school, but I've actually heard of her since I was in the 7th grade through our mutual friend, Rhobert. Jan was born in Guam, while I was born in the Philippines. Together, we proudly sport our Filipino and Asian pride via our commitment, service, dedication, and devotion to our school's Asian International Association. Jan and I are similar in many ways: we both put school as our first priority, we both aspire to be the best that we can possibly be, we both value time immensely, we both tend to be pessimistic, and unfortunately, we both know how it feels to really get hurt. Fortunately, we've survived through the many obstacles life has thrown down our path. Jan and I have been through so much together, and no matter how bad things got, we were always there for each other. Being 42 days older than Jan, I sometimes see her as the younger sister I never had, but strangely enough, Jan actually acts like my big sister at times; she's an expert, she's the "Ate" to two younger sisters, Jing and Leng! Because of my friendship with Jan I have become a stronger, wiser person, a person whose eyes are open wider, a person who is more aware of her surroundings. Armed with her many wise quotes, she always seems to find a way to make me smile again after one of the many setbacks I regularly suffer in the dramas of the soap opera I have gotten myself entangled in. Jan, I know this page isn't much; it comes nowhere near the quality of what Jon is capable of doing, but I hope you know that I create this page from the bottom of my heart as my simple way of thanking you. Thank you for being there for me through thick or thin, for believing in me when nobody else did, for being my best friend, and jes for being YOU! |

This was taken at Coronado for the Lady Devils' Tennis Team photos. Jan and I are 2-yr Varsity Letterwomen of the school's tennis team. Though we may not be out there to kick people's butts, we play for sheer fun, we sometimes do relatively well in our games. Our records have improved greatly from our rookie year! Armed with dinky shots and UR moves, the doubles team of Jan and Mike can sometimes wreak havoc in the mental state of the opposing team by causing mass confusion---> with JaM you can never be sure as to how our play's going to be. Being female, our game's as changeable as the weather. When we're on, we're terrific, if not, oh boy!... By the way, Jan and I were named Scholar Athletes by the San Diego Union Tribune for the Fall '98 Season! We hope to capture the Metro Banner, thus making our senior year the best tennis season ever!!! |

Got rice...cakes??? This picture was taken at our school's Senior Lawn as part of the Science Club/Olympiad yearbook pictures. (Don't clown on me for having been the Science Club VP, SCIENCE IS COOL!!!) Unfortunately, this photo did not make the yearbook... Oh well! I guess it was for the best since I was way too sunburnt on this pix because of playing too much tennis! Jan and I didn't medal in any of our many Science Olympiad events during the county competition, but we had loads of fun with the experiments, etc.! |

This picture was taken at Mrs. Leano's house during the Annual AIA Christmas Party. (This was actually taken in December '97, but stupid me saved it as Christmas '98... OOPS!) Jan and I are extremely active AIA leaders; we're probably the two people in the entire school who knows the most about AIA! Following Murphy's Law of any thing and every thing that can go wrong will go wrong, we've always had AIA as a constant factor stabilizing our lives amidst the turbulence. AIA is no longer JES a club, it has become like a family to us. AIA, ALL THE WAY!!! |

Go, Fight, Pin, Pin, PIN!!!! Jan and I have been Varsity Wrestling Managers for the past two years. This photo was taken during one of the many tournaments we've been on, HOLTVILLE! This was the first and only one (so far) that has been an out-of-town tournament. The photo was taken by one of our wrestlers, and a very good friend of ours, Eugene during a rest stop (cuz Coach Andy's motor home kept overheating!). The scenery may not look like all that much, but dry as it was, it was very pretty, especially the skies... I guess you jes had to be there! We spent a night at a hotel and most of the two days with our butts glued down to hard bleachers watching hard wrestling action... Many people wonder why we became wrestling managers in the first place. Contrary to most beliefs, we DID NOT join for the sheer reason of seeing muscular men in tights, though that is a very good incentive! We actually joined originally because a very good friend of ours, my Kuya Amor, joined! So there! We have lots of respect to wrestlers now, our wrestlers, because they work so hard and endure so much jes for the sake of the sport! Wrestlers are some of the toughest athletes out there! |

This photo was taken at our friend Renee's house... If memory serves me right, this is one of the pictures Janessa gets bad memories off of... I think the shirt that she is wearing is the shirt that mysteriously vanished. No one knows what happened to one of Jan's shirts after we had gone out. I think this is the shirt that jes DISAPPEARED! Oooh, Jan was sooooooo miffed when she lost that shirt! Welps, this pics is special because this is a pic from the pre-JaM days. Jan and I were jes good friends when this photo wa taken. It was in the 9th grade so we weren't best friends yet. We were close friends, but at that point we never knew we'd be best friends. I'm so glad we did! Luv yah Jan! |
