The divine voice of Belldandy is brought to you by Inoue Kikuko, who has a gentle voice that matches the goddess herself. In real life, her voice is very close to Belldandy's, unlike voice used in some other roles such as Avatar in Super Atragon. Her earlier regular characters include Tendo Kasumi in Ranma, Electra in Nadia, and she has played many roles since, but she doesn't have much of a lead role list except for Ah ! My Goddess. In spite of that, she is extremely popular, due to her unique personality that seems to draw everyone around her into her world of tenderness and love. I never thought I would be a big fan for any seiyu (voice actor), but she's the only exception, I don't think I ever love any voice actor like the way I love her now.

Aside from appearances in AMG CDs (Tamago song in OAV 3 is composed by her!), she is also part of the Goddess Family Club (who also sings the opening and ending themes for AMG) whose CD "Kamisama no Okurimono" contains two songs for which she wrote the lyrics. She has also released 3 CD albums (Elegant Fish, Tadaima, Tadaima 2) two of which are filled with songs written and composed by her, and as you might expect, contains gentle fun songs. She has in the past had a radio show, excerpts of which have become CDs, but these are apparently out of print.

CD release Information

Oneechan to Issho is a monthly CD that contains roughly 70 minutes of her talking, singing and eating(!), which is sold for about 1200 yen. The very fact that such a product can be marketed speaks volumes for her popularity. Current release is the June issue (PCCG-00376) in which was recorded outdoors. This month, she can be heard spontaneously greeting a black kite (kind of a hawk) that comes near, talking about aliens walking among us, trying to woo a child nearby with a candy then realizing she is behaving like a child abductress... lots of fun. Also, in "Oneechan to Issho", Kikuko-sama sings a new song every month. After the end of the year, the compilation of all these songs will be released as her 4th album. So far, there have been some cool songs, some of which are unusual for her.

Inoue Kikuko Classic was released by Pony Canyon. This CD contains 12 songs of Kikuko-sama arranged as classical music and played by pretty famous Japanese classical performers. Music from this CD is currently being used as background music in the talk CD. The initial release came with a special CD single that has a cute story of Wendenyan, read by Kikuko-sama.
