.BAT Program for erasing Daggerfall save games

Description:

DAGDIR is a dangerous utility; it is intended to ERASE all current
DaggerFall saved games IN THEIR ENTIRETY ! ! !

Why do this in the first place? DaggerFall was designed and built as
a single-user game; it also doesn't have a lot of save game slots. If
you have more than one person playing the game on your system, or if
you want to start a new character, it's wise to clear out all the save
game directories to ensure that files left over from an old character
will not interfere with the new character.

DAGZIP.BAT, the companion piece in this package, is a good tool to
save the previous work so that it can be recovered. Also, if you're
recovering previous games from an archive, it's also a good idea to
clear out the active save game directories first -- again, to avoid
interference.

DAGDIR uses the DOS DELTREE command to erase each of the six
DaggerFall save game subdirectories, then uses the DOS MD command to
recreate them. This is a rapid means of killing all files associated
with all current save games. For the record, the save game
directories are named SAVE0 - SAVE5, and are subdirectories under the
DAGGER directory.

Usage:

From DOS command line mode, switch to the DAGGER directory (where you
installed the game on your hard drive). Then type the command:
        DAGDIR

There are no arguments. The program will display the following prompt:

"About to erase all saved games! ARE YOU SURE [Y/N]?"

Press the "Y" key to erase the save games; press "N" to abort. There
is no further warning! If you press "Y" and don't really mean it,
it's already too late! It's best to use DAGZIP to archive your games
before doing running DAGDIR.

An Additional Caution:

DAGZIP was designed and built on a DOS 6.22 system; if you're using it
with Windows 95, make sure it works properly on your system before
depending on it.
