JAPAN.MP

A Civilization II map by Dennis Brennan (spike@dolphin.upenn.edu)

I created this map for Civ II using the Map Editor. Locations of
rivers and mountain ranges are as accurate as I could manage. Forests
are placed more or less arbitrarily.

I created the map by first zooming out to the maximum, then roughly drawing
in lines with land corresponding to the latitude lines 45N, 40N, 35N, and
30N. Then I did the same with the longitude lines 130E, 135E, 140E and
145E. I then used these lines as a rough guide in sketching the coastline
of Japan's four main islands. I finally used an atlas to make the
coastlines approximate Japans and added terrain features.

I am also the creator of Peloney.mp, based on an old RPG campaign world
of mine, and Maze.mp, an abstract pattern I conceptualized. I hope
you enjoy the map!
