My motivation to make this scenario came from my disappointment
about the "1900" scenario (can be found on CivII Heaven;
the 1900 scenario actually starts in 1875 ... ), which is not
very accurate about geographical and historical content (I tried
to contact the author about it, but it appears his e-mail has
changed ... ).

I do not claim that my solution is 100% correct. But I tried
to stick to real history as close as possible.
Here are some changes I've made:

Central Europeans - I've merged the Spanish - the once most
important colonial power which was in a state of final
decline in the last years of the 19th century -, the Dutch
a colonial power whose power was very limited in the relevant
period of time -, the Scandinavian states and their outposts
- minor powers but yet some kinda colonial -,the Italians -
a minor colonial power which only became a bit relevant
between 1910 and 1943, the Austro-Hungarians - no colonial
power at all, but a multi-national imperial state which was
about to break up -, the Ottoman Empire (Istambul and Baghdad)
- an empire in decline which was closely linked to Germany
and Austro-Hungaria which became very clear in WW I when the
Ottomans sided with the Central Powers - and the Germans -
the rising colonial power of the time which founded several
colonies all over the world after the Congo Conference in
Berlin (1884/1885) decided to divide up Africa among the
European colonial powers.
I did this for better gameplay, because I think that the
interests of all these powers were about the same (except
maybe the Netherlands). When you look at the Pacific Ocean
islans of the time, you see, that Germany was the direct
successor of Spain in regard to the Micronesian Islands and
Samoa.
The Japanese - already are on Corean soil (which they would
only have been c. 10 years later in real history)
The Free Peoples (Neutral) - Consist of some independent
states with - at that point of time - different tech levels.
I solved this by giving them very low tech, but I put more
advanced units and city improvements in some towns.
The Nations: Tech level:
Argentina/Brazil/Chile High
Peru/Columbia/Mexico/Venezuela	Medium
Persia/Arabia Low
Ethiopia Low
Liberia Low
China/Mongolia/Tibet Medium / High

	--- SOUND SUPPORT ---

To get the right sound for every unit, copy the sounds from
the CiC-CD scenario WW1 to a directory named "sound" in your
"1884" directory. Rename custom2.wav to custom1.wav. Also copy
infantry.wav (from WW1/sound) several times and rename it
custom3.wav. Do the same thing with cavalry.wav and call it
swrdhors.wav.
Or e-mail me and I will send you a zip-file of the sound files
you'll need.

Some of the graphics in this scenario are, well, not quite
professional, so if you can do better ones, please let me
know. I also need good unitsgrafix for some new scenarios
I'm planning. If you're interested, please contact me.
