The Story

  Alex, a young boy from the village of Burg is convinced to go on a short
                                adventure to
      'The Ice Dragon's Cave' by his friend Ramus. Luna, his childhood
                           sweetheart, and Nall,
 his flying pet, also decide to come along. However, they did not actually
                              expect to meet a
real dragon there, which they did! It turns out that the dragon is actually
                              rather friendly
  and he gives them a diamond. Unfortunately, they can only sell something
                               that expensive
 in the city of Merabia, on the other side of the ocean. Luna decides that
                             she can not leave
  her home, and Alex, Ramus, and Nall leave her behind and sail across the
                                   sea.

 During a little fiasco with the diamond getting stolen and the two getting
                               it back, Alex
  discovers that he possesses the power of magic. Nash, a young wizard who
                                also notices
   this, invites Alex to visit the flying city of Vane, home of the Magic
                           Guild. Alex decides to
 go, but Ramus, who can not comprehend the power of magic, decides to stay
                                 behind in
                       Merabia to make his fortune.

Alex discovers right before reaching the city of Vane that he must first be
                                 tested in
 'The Cave of Trial' before he can enter the city. Naturally he passes with
                             flying colors and
  gets to meet the great magician Ghaleon. Ghaleon decides to give Alex a
                               small quest to
 prove his worth by finding a phony Dragonmaster. Nash accompanies Alex on
                                 his quest.
While hunting down and defeating the phoney Dragonmaster the two are joined
                                 shortly by
 Jessica, a shaman in-training. When Alex and Nash return to Vane, Alex is
                                 thrown in
                 prison by the head Guildmistress of Vane!

Fortunately he is rescued by Mia, the Guildmistress' daughter. Mia believes
                                  that her
mother is under an evil spell and asks Alex to help her. Being the guy that
                              he is, he does.
After a few short battles, Mia's mother is revealed to actually be Xenobia,
                              the evil leader
 of the Vile Tribe. Ghaleon congratulates them and wishes to accompany Alex
                                back to Burg
 so that he can visit an old friend, the White Dragon. While on the way to
                                 Burg Alex
realizes only too late that Ghaleon holds a terrible grudge against Althena
                              (the goddess of
    light) and her four dragons and that he's out to conquer the world .
                            Ghaleon strikes the
 white dragon with a mortal blow on first site and runs off. As the dragon
                           dies it tells Alex of
 the arms of Althena, gives him the White Dragon Wings, and sets him on his
                                   way to
 becoming a Dragonmaster so that he can stop Ghaleon. When Alex returns to
                                  Burg, he
    discovers that the Vile Tribe has taken it over, and that they have
                             kidnapped Luna for
                           some strange reason.

  Alex now sets off on his quest to becoming a Dragonmaster by finding all
                                  the Arms
    of Althena. Along the way he is joined once again by Nash, Mia, and
                             Jessica, and a new
 friend, Kyle. The group learns that Ghaleon is the 'Magic Emperor' who has
                                been causing
 havoc in the eastern lands and recently began to terrify the western ones.
                              They also learn
  why Luna was kidnapped by Xenobia. Luna is the goddess Althena in mortal
                               form, and she
   was captured so that Ghaleon could corrupt her mind and use her awsome
                                 power for
                                 himself.

    Alex, with the aid of his friends, retrieves the Arms of Althena and
                                 becomes a
 Dragonmaster. Xenobia and Ghaleon are both defeated by the group and Alex
                                  must now
face the most difficult challenge yet. He must now face alone Luna, aka the
                                  goddess
  Althena, who is still under the spell of evil. Knowing that no sword or
                            spell can hurt her,
Alex defeats the evil within her with a simple memory of times past when he
                         and Luna sung by the lake.
