Chrono shook his head wildly. "No, no! This can't be happening AGAIN!"
The entire group turned and stared at him. "He... he said something! This must be really serious!" breathed Lucca.
"More than you know." said Magus, his eyes on the ship.
All talk ceased as a lone figure walked out onto the deck of the ship.
"Well, well! If it isn't the heroes of time! Did ya miss me?" called Lavos, blowing a kiss.
"Release my sister, parasite!" shouted Magus.
"Parasite? Now, that wasn't very nice, coming from my own brother! Needle Death Rain!" cried the creature. The party madly scrambled out of the way as the destructive beams rained on them from the heavens.
"Mua HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! My revenge is so wonderful, so complete! You know, if I kill you now, then I'd never be thrown back in time with the wretch of a queen as a host, and you... you'd never be around to stop me! I would rule the world!" said Lavos, it's eyes glowing red. "And you all are old now, old and unable to properly fight back. What a wonderful feeling..." the creature murmured, it's eyes closing.
"Mega Flare!" shouted Lucca, her hands coming up to form a storm of fire. Lavos laughed harder and stepped aside and the fire swept past it. "A little slow, are we?"
"Ice 2!" screamed Marle, her hair flying around her head and ice shooting from her fingers. Lavos started to move, then stopped. A wicked smile curved at it's lips, and Lavos began to laugh. "You really want to hurt me? Than TRY!" Lavos withdrew his control from Schala's body and backed into a corner of her mind. Shcala came to just in time to see the bolts of ice in front of her. "No!! Please, stop!" she cried, then screamed as the bolts hit her and incased her in ice. Marle turned white and gasped. The ice melted off of the poor girl, and she fell onto the ship's floor with a solid thunk. She whimpered, then tried to rise. After a few attempts, she stood, tears streaming down her face. Her lips were tinged with blue from the cold and it was evident that she was still shivering. Schala coughed, and said weakly "Please, don't hurt me..."
"Oh my goddess, Schala, I'm so sorry!" Marle whispered in shock. "Healing Aura!" A thin, rainbow glow spread out from Marle's form and covered Schala, healing all her wounds. The girl stood, and her eyes flashed red. "Like my trump card, you poor, sniveling humans?"
"Let her go, you monster!" shouted Magus, his features suffused with rage.
"Make me." Said Lavos, smirking.
"Dark Eternal!!!!" shouted Magus. The black winds began to swirl around him, making his cape stream back. He was lifted into the air, gesturing the entire way. At the top of his rise, his hands shot forward and a beam of pure black shot out, streaming towards the figure of Lavos at the top of the ship. Lavos smiled. "Pity you had to hurt your sister, isn't it..."said the evil being, then withdrew into Schala's subconscious.
"No..." said Magus in horror. He watched his sister turn to him in terror as the blast of energy streaked towards her. "No!!!!"
