Ellwiny glances up from where she's been examining Cirameth's straps, and waves to Merien. "G'morning."

Merien smiles and says, "How are you? I never get to see you anymore since I'm trapped in the barracks most of the day."

Above you, Oerth soars out of the entrance to the hatching grounds.

Above you, Oerth glides lower into the bowl, eventually backwinging gracefully near the living caverns to the southeast, scattering several firelizards on her way.

Oerth approaches from above, the wind from her wings stirring the air into a great rush as she lands.

Oerth has arrived.

Alania holds tightly onto Oerths neckridges and swings down, lightly landing on the ground

Alania has arrived.

Alania slides gracefully off of a very clean and scrubbed Oerth, waving to Ellie and Merien.

Ellwiny straightens, her smile stretching into a yawn as she stretches both arms up and back. "Pretty good," she replies after a moment. "Right now I'm a bit tired... but that's nothing a little klah won't fix." Still smiling, she waves to Alania.

Merien grins and says, "You read my mind. All I hear in my head is, "Klah... klah... give me klah..." She waves to Alania and says, "Morning!"

Alania laughs and nods to Ellie and Merien "Me too, I'm heading in for a nice hot cup, maybe, if I'm lucky it will clear up this cold!" she sighs, sniffing, then sneezing.

Ellwiny grins at the other riders, and gestures in the direction of the living cavern. "Shall we, then?"

Merien nods and goes through the living caverns entrance.

Alania sneezes once more, then head in "Yep, I'm there!"

You walk into the huge living cavern.

Alania walks in from the bowl.

Alania has arrived.

Ellwiny walks in from the bowl.

Ellwiny has arrived.

Merien says to Alania as they walk in, "You have a cold?"

Madelynda looks up from her breakfast as Yazric enters. Managing an bleary smile, she nods at him and says, "Good morn." As the riders, enter, she does the same to them before turning back to her complaining firelizard and shoving another meatroll toward his maw.

Alania sniffs and nods to Merine "Yes, and it's really getting in the way of sweepes and such. I don't know if it's a cold, or just an allery of some type. I hear that Keroon is cutting the long field grasses. That always seems to bother me." She walks with Merien in the direction of the serving tables, pours a huge mug of Klah, puts a ton of sweetener into the dark liquid, then take a satisfying sip.

Yazric waves halfheartedly to Madelynda, even more helfheartedly to the riders and comments absently to Maddy, "Plain meat would be healthier for him."

Merien is getting a mug of klah as well. "Be careful, though. I'd hate to see you get even more sick from going /between/." She carries her mug to a table for sweetener and smiles to Yazric and Madelynda. "Morning. And yes, it would be better for him." She glances at Yazric again, and says, "Are you all right?"

Madelynda blinks at Yazric and Merien, flushing. "Oh, alright. Of course. Sorry," she mumbles, taking away the meatroll and picking away the breading from the meat. Under her breath, she says, "See, Pwyll? You have a bad bread-tooth. I know you picked me for the piece of bubbly I offered, but this has got to stop."

Yazric nods to Merien, "Yeah." he comments without enthusiasm, "Dragons are strange."

Ellwiny pours herself a mug of klah and glances around the cavern. "Morning, all," she murmurs, her ever-present smile dampened a bit by fatigue. Overhearing Yazric and Merien, she takes a sip of klah and glides in their direction. "They're strange? What does that mean?"

Alania hmmmmmsss and nods as she heads to a table with Merien "You've got a point there Merien, think I'll talk to G'rel about it, see what he thinks." She waves to Maddy, nodding in agreement with Yazric. Settling down in a chair, sniffing..she sips her Klah, watching the little lizard and the bread he's eating.

Merien finds Yazric's answer interesting enough that she sits at the table across from him. "Strange? Why do you say that?" She grins to Madelynda and says, "Hey, one of my firelizards chews everything. They can be odd creatures sometimes. Strange, you might even say."

Yazric considers, "Firelizards are just like baby dragons, they dont think about much first."

Alania waves Ellie over "come sit, as long as you don't mind me sniffing and sneezing Ellie" she chuckles softly taking a log drink of the hot klah.

Madelynda nods at Merien, cheeks still ruddy at the criticism. She carefully moves her sweetbread and the bready-parts of the meatroll far away from Pwyll's gaping maw, shoving the meaty parts in his direction.

Merien nods. "True. Hatchlings ask a lot of questions, and think mostly about food and sleep. And oil." Then she laughs and adds, "And sex."

Yazric wanders into the kitchen, returning with a bowl of raw meat scraps. He sets it on the table, hoping to distract the lizard away from the bread, "Why sex?"

Alania laughs, looking at Merien, giving Ellie a nudge "We did not, did we Ellie, think about sex that is" winking she giggles, sputtering a bit as a trickle of hot klah goes down the wrong way.

Madelynda blinks at the word "sex" and swallows, putting all of her attention on Pwyll. With a thankful smile at Yazric as he helps, she mumbles to a passing drudge that she needs meat, not meat/rolls/.

"I don't mind a bit." Ellwiny grins at Alania, and settles herself at the table. "As long as you don't sneeze on me, that is." She chuckles quietly at Merien, and then shakes her head in Alania's direction, her own checks reddening slightly. "Well... I don't think I can speak for everyone..." Looking again at Merien, she adds, "Though I don't think Cira ever /thought/ too much about it. He just told me what everyone else was saying."

Merien laughs again. "Curiosity, I guess, Yazric. At first I thought it was just Tesith's group, but now I know it happens with each new group of hatchlings." She leans back in her chair and says, "You know, they probably just ask as many questions about everything. Why the sky is blue, why trees are green, why meat is good and dirt isn't." She nods at Ellie's words and says, "I think the questions about why women have bumps on their chests and men don't, and why men have... Well, I think those questions are just more memorable."

Yazric laughs, "Chaeth stopped asking those questions when I was little, now he asks harder ones."

Alania grins and nods "Oerth was really late with that kind of thing. She was the last one to rise from our weyrling group, and even now, she doesn't rise as much as other green" she hmmmmmmmmsss a moment "Once every 4 or 5 months" She laughs at Merien "Oh, remember Siaroth and Jh'rin, now those two were funny"

Kylandra enters from the narrow corridor.

Kylandra has arrived.

Kylandra yawns hugely as she steps into the cavern.

Ellwiny takes another small sip of klah, and rises to fetch a pitcher of the stuff from the serving table. Nodding to Kylandra, she scoops up a bowlful of sweetener and returns to the table, setting bowl and pitcher in its center. "You know, there's something I've been wondering..." she begins, then breaks off to take another drink.

Merien waves to Kylandra as she takes another drink of klah. "Yes, Ellie?"

Yazric waves to Kylandra, yawning shortly after she does.

Kylandra heads for the klah, blinking sleepily and returning waves and smiles.

Madelynda looks up as Kylandra enters and offers a smile, still monitoring her firelizard's morning meal.

Alania waves to Kylandra, watching Ellwiny bring Klah and sweetner to the table. Turning in her chair she looks at her "What you been wondering?"

Yazric slides off his chair to go over to the klah pot and eye it curiously, "What does klah taste like?"

Madelynda chuckles at Yazric, taking a sip of her own. She murmurs toward him, "Why don't you try some this morning?"

Ellwiny grins, a bit foolishly. "Well... I just starting to think about this after Alania said something about Oerth's rising habits." She inclines her head towards the greenrider, and shrugs at Yazric. "Don't ask me. The only time I drink it is when I'm too tired to notice." Back to the other riders, she continues. "Is it possible for some dragons to be... more interested... in that sort of thing than others?"

Yazric consdiers this and shrugs, pouring himself a cautious amount into a mug, sniffing at it interestedly.

Merien says to Yazric, "If you add lots of sweetener the way I do, it tastes like desert." She grins then to Ellwiny. "Of course it is. Look at Aberuth." She laughs then says, "Just like people, some dragons are more concerned with mating and its effects than are others."

Alania leans her elbow on the table, mug between them. She looks at

Kylandra, noticing the miners knot "You a miner Kylandra?" She turns to Ellwiny, laughs "Oh, I'd say so Ellie, I mean look at Meg Aberuth, now, there's a randy dragon!" She's still laughing when a sneeze blows Klah right out of her mug "Shards!!!" she sniffs.

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Tesith rumbles and finally awakens enough to raise her head. << I am not overly concerned with mating. I only think of it so much because Merien does. >>

Kylandra pours some klah for herself, managing /not/ to spill it on herself as she's still waking up. She picks the mug up and heads for the table. "Hmm? Oh, yeah. I was just an apprentice when I was Searched for the last Hatching, so I haven't advanced much, but I'm still technically a miner."

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Oerth snorts quite haughtily << A male must be very fast to catch me. I like blues, they are handsome and fast too >>

Ellwiny looks from Alania and Merien, then laughs softly. "Funny how you both mention Aberuth... and appropriate, I must say."

Madelynda's eyebrows furrows as Alania sneezes. She gets up from her chair and, nearing her, takes a clean handkerchief from her pocket and offers it to the sneezing rider. "Are you alright?" she murmurs, concerned.

Yazric dumps in what looks like more sweetener than klah and takes a cautious sip. "Is it just Aberuth or did he learn it from Meg?"

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Tesith appears to be taking this conversation rather seriously. << Mating can be interesting, though. Especially when it produces eggs. Like Neith and Habrith. >> She looks toward the hatching ground.

Kylandra chuckles at Yazric's question as she sits down at the table.

Merien bursts out laughing at Yazric's question. "Now /that/ is what we'd all like to know." She grins and says, "But Meg is very discriminating, and she doesn't have as many different partners as Aber does." She glances to the bowl and blushes slightly.

Madelynda looks at Yazric and blushes, offering softly, "They say the rider makes the dragon..." She looks at the riders apologetically, finishing meekly, "Don't they?"

Kylandra nods her agreement. "That's what I've always heard said."

Yazric considers, "I dunno, Mom's got lots of men friends but Chaeth doesnt go in many flights."

Alania smirks in Ellies direction "I'd say that's pretty well know. Why do you ask Ellie?" she turns to Kylandra "Oh, I've got a small cousin who's parents are thinking of apprenticing him in the miners. How is it there, Masters good, nice?" she turn back to Merien nodding "That's true Merien"

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Oerth nods << I like the males chasing me, sometimes, only the fastest catch me. Your right Tesith, the eggs on the sands are very beautiful >>

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Tesith rumbles. Or rather, grumbles. << They are perfect eggs. I have brought many people back to Ista to stand for a hatching. And none of them ever get dragons. So they are perfect eggs, but their contents don't know how to pick right. >>

Kylandra takes a sip of klah and sets the mug back down, quietly so as not to wake the sleeping flits on her shoulders. Then she nods to Alania. "Oh, yeah, the Masters are pretty nice. Of course, it always depends on how much mischief an apprentice gets into. The people are generally the friendly sort, though."

Alania looks at Maddy, considering "Well...sometimes..but..I really think it's a combination of the two. I'm not the girl that stood on the sands a couple of years back. Oerth has changed me" she shrugs, brow furrowing, not really knowing how to explain it to the girl.

Ellwiny nods at Merien, and sips at her klah, momentarily lost in thought. Glancing up at Alania's question, she sets her lips in a half-smile, and shrugs. "Cira's just never been too interested in flirting or chasing. And I was just thinking about it, that's all."

Merien sighs and looks out to the bowl again. "Oh, Tesith. It's just luck of the draw, you know." She sighs in exasperation and says, "Well, all of this mating talk has reminded Tesith about the clutch on the sands, and now she's all bent out of shape about riding Search."

Yazric gamely makes another attempt at drinking his klah, "She doesnt like riding Search?"

Alania nods thoughtfully at Kylandra, then chuckles "Well, this lad is serious at best, not a spart of mischief in that one. I'm glad to hear the masters are well learned. She leans back in her chair. But tell me, what kinds of things do miners do? Just dig in the earth?" looking back to Ellie she nods "I know, Oerth is the same way, but when she does rise, watch out" she blushes here, grinning at Merien "Oh, Oerth searched someone, Ianthe! She was so proud!"

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Cirameth lifts his head to look towards the hatching grounds, a soft warble emitting from his throat. << They /are/ perfect eggs. And I wish to bring a person back to Ista to stand for their hatching. But how is a person picked? My rider cannot explain it to me. >> He trails off in a quiet, frustrated rumble.

Madelynda brightens at the mention of the candidate. "Yes, Ianthe. I met her the day she arrived. Very nice young woman, and a good cook too," she mentions.

Alania nods to Madelynda "She seems very nice, and your right, she makes the best sandwiches I've ever tasted!"

Yazric sighs as he hears of another person Searched. A finger reaches into his mug to dredge up some sweetener-klah goop.

Ellwiny curls her fingers around her mug, eyes distancing briefly. "What do you mean by that, Merien?" she asks, once her gaze refocuses on the scene around her. A brief smile, as she looks at Alania. "Congrats to both you and Oerth, then."

Merien says to Yazric, "No, she likes riding in Search. But of all of the candidate's we've brought back, not one has ever Impressed on the sands. And now we don't ride on Search. Weyrlingmaster's don't, I mean." She looks out to the bowl again and sighs once more. "Tesith, you have nothing to prove."

Kylandra shakes her head. "Oh, no, there's far more than that. We have miners that /do/ just dig in the earth, but then there's jewelers, stonemasons, surveyers...it's definitely more than just digging around and getting dirty."

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Tesith snorts. << I want to find someone too. That person she talks to. Like that girl. >> She projects an image for Cirameth. << See? I think she would be good. I like her. Merien likes her. >>

Madelynda follows Merien's eyes toward the bowl. "Why can't the Weyrlingmaster Search?" she asks curiously.

Kylandra nods, wondering the same thing as Madelynda.

Alania lifts and eyebrow in Meriens direction "really, I shouldn't think that kind of thing should matter to a dragon...does it?" Hearing Kylandra explain she nods to the girl "Oh, I see" she blinks a few times "So, your saying...there are subcrafts? Jewlers sound like fun. Are you specializing in anything kylandra? Why didn't you go back after the hatching?"

Alania turns to smile at Ellwiny "It was so much fun, and Oerth made such a fuss. S'din and Meli were with us, between them both it was quite a rukus!"

Kylandra shrugs, disturbing her gold firelizard. "I was planning on specializing in jewelry or just gem cutting, but then I was Searched, so that disrupted my plans. And by the time Hatching came around and I didn't Impress, I'd gotten attached to Ista. So I just stayed here."

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Cirameth stirs, and focuses on the image. << She looks good. My rider likes her. I do not know her, but if you think she would be good, then I'm sure she would be. >> The excitement in his tone builds with each thought, then abruptly dissipates with his next question, rumbled in a tone of utmost seriousness. << Does she smell good. Aberuth said something about them needing to smell good. >>

Merien says, "Oh, it's not that we can't. It's just that we don't leave the weyr, like other wings do, and unless we have the free time to join another wing's Search group, we're left only with people who live here at Ista." As she says this, she's still looking toward the bowl, and she says, more to herself, "And I think Tesith's choices don't Impress because she chooses people just because she likes them, and doesn't give it thought beyond that."

Madelynda nods slowly at Merien's words, taking it all in.

Kylandra reaches up to scritch her gold, taking in Merien's explanation, as she'd never known the reason before.

Yazric slurps klah-sweetener off his finger, "I thought that was all the Search dragons looked for."

Alania nods thoughtfully "You know, if I hadn't impressed I'd of been off the the harpers hall, that old harper at Keroon had me doing everything anyways. She turns toward the bowl, smiling, shaking her head "I think gem cutting would be really interesting, almight a bit tedious"

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Tesith sounds like she's convinced herself. << I do not smell them, although Aberuth and Tabith do. I just pick the ones I like. And that Merien likes. And I want that one. >> To an unseen rejoinder from her rider, she becomes insistent. << Yes, I do. I'm telling you I do. Really. I mean it. >>

Ellwiny closes her eyes and mumbles something, her expression decidedly distracted. Looking back at Merien, she sighs. "What else is there for the dragons to look for? Cira doesn't know, and I don't know what to tell him." She pauses, and rubs at her temples. "And now he's saying something about smelling them..."

Madelynda hears Yazric's theory and nods, agreeing.

Merien shakes her head. "I think most of them can sense something about a person that makes him or her more likely to bond with a dragon. Most dragons. Not Tesith. She's too... too literal, I guess you could say." With another sigh, she looks to the bowl and shakes her head again, mouthing the word, 'no.'

Yazric nods thoughtfully, "I guess so.. Chae's good at Searching."

Madelynda blinks as Merien is distracted by her dragon and follows her gaze toward the bowl, trying to catch a glimpse of Tesith.

Alania hmmmms and nod in Ellies direction "I think Oerth just liked the smell, said Ianthe smell.....green..whatever that means. I just think that Meli and Oerth were both green dragons"

Tesith sticks her face in from the bowl, warbling very softly.

Alania shrugs the looks out to the bowl "Whats she after Merien, she seems kinda restless"

Kylandra wrinkles her brow, thinking, before nodding to Alania. "It would /seem/ tedious, just watching, but it takes an awful lot of concentration, so it's probably not really that tedious, once you're actually doing it." She pauses. "I remember when I was Searched...I think it was Pryth. I was sure surpised, but then I think most people are."

Alania laughs "Oh hiya Tesith"

Ellwiny grins at Alania, and nods. "As long as they smell good... or so Cira says." Another pause, in which she evidentally sorts something out with her lifemate. "Excuse me, so /Aberuth/ says. Cira still doesn't know." She looks thoughtfully at Merien. "I'd heard something about blues being more sensitive in those areas...." Then breaks off to grin at Tesith.

Kylandra grins and waves to Tesith.

Madelynda smiles slightly as Tesith's huge wedge of a head squeezes through the entrance of the bowl, eyes darting toward Merien.

Yazric grins to Tesith, "We need dragon sized entrances."

Tesith> Cirameth turns his gaze away from a group of residents gathered near the hatching caverns to warble curiously at Tesith.

Madelynda chuckles at Yazric and nods.

Alania grins to Ellie "He still idelizing Aber Ellie?"

Ellwiny shakes her head at Alania. "Nah, he's never idolized anyone. Especially not Aber... for reasons I'm not going to bother with. It's just that Aber said something along those lines a few days ago."

Merien stands up, and says in an irritated tone, "I said NO, Tesith. What in the world do you think you're doing?" She gets up and pushes at Tesith's muzzle to remove it from the entrance. "You know better than this. You should be ashamed of yourself."

Madelynda blinks as Merien scolds her dragon and averts her eyes, rubbing her elbow.

Alania ahhhhhs at Ellwiny "I've got it mixed up, it was Bronia's Courneth that is always trying to be like Aberuth" she grins at Tesith "What's she after Merien/"

Kylandra raises an eyebrow, watching Merien and Tesith. "Maybe there's someone in here she wants to Search," she suggests.

Alania nods to Kylandra and hmmmmmms "Well, thanks for the info, I'll pass it along to little Darians parents, I'm sure they'll be happy to hear it."

Merien looks out into the bowl with the air of someone making a deal she isn't sure is all that much of a bargain. "All right, all right. You stay out, and we'll come there." With a sigh, she says, apologetically, "Maddy, can you come with me? Just for a moment?"

Madelynda looks up at Merien's question, still rubbing her elbow absentmindedly. "What?" she asks distractedly, eyes moving to everyone's face, unsure who said her name.

Yazric looks briefly hopeful at Kylandra's comment and then sighs as Merien only asks Maddy.

Ellwiny watches Merien and Tesith with an avid curiousity. "I remember Cira always wanting to come in here when he was a hatchling," she murmurs. Glancing over her shoulder, she blinks at Kylandra. "You know.. you could very well be right."

Dragon> Ista search dragons sense that Tesith sounds very satisfied with herself. << I knew that would make her stop arguing with me. She hates it when I do things we tell the hatchlings not to do. >>

Pwyll chirples and flutters over to Madelynda's shoulder, his eyes whirling as they look toward the entrance to the bowl.

Alania stretches, standing "Mind if I come out with you Merien, Oerth is restless, and I'd like to see what's up."

Merien repeats, "Can you come with me, Maddy? Out into the bowl?"

Madelynda nods, confused. "Well, certainly, Merien. Does Tesith need a scrubber? Perhaps Faerth told him of my helping Rykel with him..." she says, walking toward the bowl.

Ellwiny tilts her head back and drains the last of her klah. "Mind if I come, as well?" she asks of Merien.

Alania heads out to the bowl, mumbling something about restless dragons and keeping clean after that great scrubbing of last nite.

Alania walks outside, into the bowl.

Alania has left.

Madelynda walks outside, into the bowl.

Madelynda has left.

Yazric doesnt ask, just follow the troop out tio the bowl.

Yazric walks outside, into the bowl.

Yazric has left.

Merien shakes her head to Ellwiny and says, "Not at all," as she follows the others out.

You walk outside, into the bowl.

Alania walks straight over to Oerth "What is the matter with all of you out here" scolding she continues "Don't get dirty for Faranth's sake!"

Ellwiny walks out of the living cavern.

Ellwiny has arrived.

Madelynda stops in her tracks, turning back toward the living cavern. "Oh, I should get some sweetsand if Tesith wants to bathe," she says, moving toward the entrance again.

Merien sighs and comes right to the point. "Madelynda, Tesith wants you to be a candidate for that clutch Neith's got on the sands now." She says this all with an air of regret, or maybe embarrassment.

Merien thinks for a moment then makes a note on a hide she takes from her pocket.

Oerth bugles, eyes whirling as she regards Madelynda, making her lifemate jump, putting hands over her ears. "Shards!"

Ellwiny strides quickly to Cirameth's side and rests a hand on the blue's foreleg, her smile broad.

Yazric looks hopefully at Tesith, at all the dragons actually.

Tesith bends her neck so she can get a better look at her choice, then she rumbles approvingly and nuzzles the top of Madelynda's head.

Alania looks at Ellwiny "See, she makes /so/ much noise about it all"

Madelynda stops her trek toward the living cavern, startling at Oerth's bugle and putting a hand to her chest. Giggling as Tesith musses with her hair. "What?" she mumbles, blinking at Merien. "Me?" she asks uncertainly.

Cirameth looks down at his lifemate, eyes whirling with excitement and adoration. His head lifts, and he warbles a response to Oerth before turning his jeweled gaze on Madelynda.

Merien nods, half smiling and half regretful. "Yes, you. Oh, shells, please don't get your heart set on it. On Impressing, I mean. She's..." She mutters this last under her breath. "She's /always/ wrong."

Tesith is ignoring her rider completely, too busy looking over her perfect choice. She croons to Madelynda quietly.

Alania grins, winking at Merien "never know, maybe on this time"

Madelynda's brows furrow and she shakes her head. "Are you sure?" she says. A slow realization dawns on her face, and she slouches. "Perhaps Meg told Aberuth to tell your dragons to Search me so that I can't take care of Loretta anymore. Am I not a proper nanny?" she asks, crestfallen.

Dragon> Ista dragons sense that Tesith nuzzles Madelynda gently. << I am /not/ always wrong. It is the silly hatchlings who choose the wrong ones. >>

Dragon> Ista dragons sense that Siaroth croons softly. << You are wise, Tesith. >>

Madelynda looks at Tesith and Oerth and Cirameth, searching their whirling eyes. "Me?" she repeats, coming tentatively closer to the dragons.

Dragon> Ista dragons sense that Areseth yawns mentally, saying, <>

Jh'rin arrives from the center of the bowl.

Jh'rin has arrived.

Yazric scuffs away, watching the ground slowly, kicking at some errand rocks as he does.

Merien shakes her head and says, "Look at that face." She takes Madelynda and leads her closer to Tesith, pointing up at Tesith and her intensely whirling eyes. "Does she look like anyone could talk her into or out of anything? Believe me, I tried." She sighs and says, "I like you, Maddy, and I hate it when they all start crying after the hatching. It's like Tesith's curse or something."

Oerth looks at the confused girl, eyes whirling. She croons softly nuzzling her lifemate lovingly.

Tesith does indeed look very certain. Really certain. She croons to Madelynda again.

Madelynda musters a smile at Merien and peers at Tesith. "Don't worry. I won't cry because I certainly don't expect any dragon to find me of interest." She almost laughs, clearly flattered at Tesith's gaze. "But I will keep my Istan eye on the candidates, I can assure you. I'll be the undercover guard!" At Tesith's croon, she laughs, asking the dragon, "You sure Aberuth didn't tell you to Search me so that I can't care for Loretta anymore?"

Alania smiles at Maddy "Dragons always know these things Maddy, listen to them" she winks, sneezes then sighs "I've got drills gang, I'll see you all later" with that she waves, giving Maddy a hug, then leaps lightly up onto Oerth.

Jh'rin bops along, singing a song, happy as can be. "Day off, day off. Who wants t'go to Benden fer the ... what's going on?"

Tesith exhales onto Madelynda, then nuzzles her again. Sure, her breath stinks of that morning's firestone lessons. But it's a complement. Really.

Alania reaches up to hold the riding straps firmly. With a gentle nudge from Oerth, she swings up to sit comfortable on her back.

Alania has left.

>From Oerths neck, Alania waves as she heads off.

Oerth flies up into the air.

Oerth has left.

Above you, Oerth climbs higher toward the sky, her wings powerfully beating the air as she gains altitude.

High above the bowl, Oerth soars upward on the changing air currents, her wings powerfully beating the air as she gains altitude.

Merien grins and shakes her head, her lifemate's pleasure contagious. "Not in the least. Tesith wanted you because... well, because she likes you." She waves to Alania as she goes, and Jh'rin as he approaches. "Heyla!"

High above the bowl, Oerth backwings to a landing on her ledge.

Madelynda's gaze shifts briefly toward Alania and she smiles, giving her and Oerth a wave. Turning back to Tesith, she grins and laughs again.

Jh'rin puts his arm about Merien and gives her forehead a kiss. "I thought we might want t'go while it's not rai...Tesith, what're ya doing t'that poor woman?"

Yazric mumbles something about Benden would jsut make a bad day worse and kicks a larger rock hard.

Cirameth rumbles softly and continues to watch Madelynda, Merien, and Tesith, his excitement fading. Ellwiny sighs, one hand still on the blue's leg. "Don't worry, love. You'll get your chance, too." Cirameth rumbles a second time, prompting a nod from his rider. "It would? Alright, then, let's go."

Ellwiny pats Cirameth's neck affectionately and grabs ahold of the riding straps, then pulls herself up to the blue's neck in one smooth motion. Ellwiny has left.

Jh'rin glances around and over and past Tesith and curses. "Ellie! Leaving?"

Merien seems bemised by all of this. "Go where?" She glances down at Jh'rin's arm around her waist. "Ellie? Are you all right, Yazric? What, Tesith?"

Madelynda chuckles, venturing to give Tesith a small pat. "Thank you, Tesith. I'll be honorable by you," she declares proudly, eyes flickering admirably at Merien. "And you," she repeats with a smile.

>From Cirameth's neckridges, Ellwiny spends a moment adjusting her straps, then glances down at the sound of her name. "Jhor?" A cheeful look flickers across her face, until she notices the greenrider with his arm around Merien's waist. "Oh, Cira and I are just going down to the beach," she adds flatly.

Madelynda blinks suddenly. "But what about the children?" she mumbles to herself worriedly.

Jh'rin sighs. "I was just being friend...aw, shucks. Ellie, can I come see ya later? Please?"

Tesith seems pleased by the pat, and croons all the more. Part of her attention, however, seems to be stolen by something else, in the direction of the barracks.

Yazric turns to Madelynda, "I can watch 'em, it's not like I got anything else to do." he looks miserable.

Merien extricates herself from Jh'rin's arms and walks toward Tesith. "What is it now? Not another one."

Madelynda's gaze turns toward Yazric, her features somber. "Thank you, Yazric." She considers her now complicated position. "I suppose I could discuss keeping some of my nanny duties with Daria..." she murmurs, trying to sort all of this out.

>From Cirameth's neckridges, Ellwiny blinks. "Well... uh, sure. Of course you can, Jhor." She manages a somewhat surprised smile.

Jh'rin smiles right back, glances again at Madelynda, and continues along his way.

Jh'rin walks into the Hatching Grounds through one of the large entrances.

Jh'rin has left.

Cirameth flies up into the air.

Cirameth has left.

Above you, Cirameth beats his wings, against the ocean headwinds, and sails out over the corrals.

Merien sighs and says, "I'm sorry, Maddy, but one of the hatchlings bit another one in the foot accidentally. I suppose his brown talon blended in too well with the fresh meat."

Madelynda comes out of her sorting and nods at Merien. "Oh, please, yes, don't worry about me." She still looks rather dazed.

Merien pushes Madelynda back toward the living cavern with a gentle, "See Daria or Sevanne. They'll help you get settled." Then she turns and walks toward the barracks.
