Grits

Grits (stands for Grammatical Revolution In The Spirit) is made up of Coffee (Stacy Jones) and Bonafide (Teron Carter). They are definately a revolution, bringing new ideas, sounds, and lyrics to the forefront of the hip-hop genre. They are widely acclaimed in both the Christian and secular music scene. Not only are they on the same agency (William Morris) as Busta Rymes and Boyz II Men, but they have performed with Outkast, Goodie Mob, and Ice Cube. They seek to get in touch with every avenue of their audience's lives, and the music is the first step. Not content to be just normal, Grits actively seek to create new standards. They want to show off their God (the One True One) as being the only way to go. They even said that they want to thank God with every means available, not just after the show. They have cut three albums: Mental Releases, Factors of the Seven, and Grammatical Revolution… I am sorry if I'm a little partial to these guys, but Factors was the first Christian rap album I ever got.
