There are several options available for
samurai figures to use in a Warhammer Nippon army. They are listed below,
along with few brief comments on the figures:
| Games Workshop | http://www.games-workshop.com |
| Games workshop used to produce a range of samurai themed
figures for their own Nippon army. In addition to the regular troops, they
also had the Rocket Launcher and crew, and a temple dog with rider. These
figures are mostly out of print now, though I included them in the list
becuase I am unsure of their availability through the mail order archive.
Also, please note that some of the figures are available through Foundry
(see below).
Due to the limited availability, two places one may have luck finding these OOP figures are Bartertown (http://www.bartertown.org) or eBay (http://www.ebay.com) |

| Foundry | http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/ |
| Foundry produces some of the old GW samurai figures (some still have "Games Workshop" stamped on the bottom!), I believe they were sculpted by Aly Morrison. They even have a ninja figure in one of their packs. | |
| Old Glory | http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/ |
| Old Glory produces a wide variety of affordable samurai figures. They are not as clean as GW or Clan War figures, and you have to supply your own spears (or buy them separately), but they are one of the best ways to bulk up an army, especially for Ashigaru. | |
| Clan War (AEG) | http://www.clanwar.com |
| Clan War is AEG's samurai genre fantasy game. Most of their figures are of comparable quality to GW. They generally cost as much as GW, too, with no plastics available. In addition to the normal humans, they also make a selection of fantastic figures such as goblins, naga, dragons, oni, etc. I have plans to expand the Warhammer Nippon list to make use of some of these figures. | |
| Dixon | http://www.speartorifle.com
(US)
http://www.wargames.co.uk/Dixons/Dixon.htm (UK supplier?) |
| Dixon produces a fairly wide range of figures, available individually. They have some samurai based fantasy figures as well. I personally don't care for their figures, but some people swear by them, so it is best to judge for yourself. | |
| Warrior | http://www.warrioronline.demon.co.uk/ |
| I have never seen any Warrior miniatures in person, so I can not say much for them other than they are quite inexpensive. | |
