WEEK 6
Goblins vs. Vampire Counts

Second game in a row against the Vampire Counts. Left the camera at home, with dead batteries. This time the game was played on a 4' x 4' table, a bit cramped for the gobbos (especially with all the terrain.)

There was a line of woods and rocks that almost cut the table in half, with only two openings connecting the two, each about 4" wide. There was no way I was going to get caught trying to attack, since the Vamps had lots of Ethereals. Unfortunately, this meant that I was subjected to the harsh magic phases against 3 level 2 wizards, and a single level 4. To boot, I had no damage inflicting magic, so the etherals got to run wild...

It was a good game for the Vampire player. He ran the banshees and spirit host ahead of the army, through the woods, to draw out fanatics. He let alot of magic do the damage, by hiding his mages in the woods, near skeletons, to try to cause panic tests on the gobbos. On the one flank, I got a couple of chariot hits on his 12 strong unit of Cav, but by the end of the game, the last of them were in my deployment zone.

My trolls were the only ones who did much, and even then they got destroyed becuase of poor rolls. They wiped out a regiment of zombies, but were routed and run down by skeleton spearmen affected by the Danse Macabre. (That's about 20 attacks...) Against the skeletons and zombies I had 12 attacks that needed 3's to hit and 2's to wound, but killed only 3 or 4 a turn... stupid trolls...

A rough game, but well played by my opponent. He's had experience playing against hte gobbos before, and he knew how to exploit their weaknesses. Gobbos lose by about 700 VP!

Only two games left, one against Dark Elves, then the final game against the so-far undefeated Daemons.
