HISTORIC JAPAN SCURK BUILDINGS

Here are some examples from my slowly evolving Japan tileset. Should I
ever get to complete it, this set will contain many of Japan's most famous
and not-so-famous historic landmarks.

Included in this pcx collection:

Title: Size: Description:

himeji.pcx 8660 Himeji Castle (Jpn Himeji-jo), Japan's most famous
			and best-preserved castle.

horyuji.pcx 7059	The great temple of Horyuji in Nara.

matsumot.pcx 6843	Matsumoto Castle (Jpn Matsumoto-jo). This darkly
banded castle is one of my personal favorites.

osakajo.pcx 8541 Osaka Castle (Osaka-jo), Osaka. Built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi,
this was once the largest castle in Japan and was considered
impregnable. It eventually fell to Tokugawa forces and became
a main headquarters for the Tokugawa Shogunate. Destoyed by fire,
it has since been replaced by a ferro-concrete replica. The flat
base nearby was once the foundation for the castle's subsidiary
palaces and other structures, which have all been lost.

pagoda.pcx 3168	A pagoda from the Horyuji.

shrine.pcx 2965	A shrine, from the main Kondo of the Horyuji.

todaiji.pcx 3996	This is the Daibutsu-den (Great Buddha Hall) of the
Todaiji temple in Nara. This is claimed to be the
world's largest wooden structure. It houses a gigantic
			statue of Buddha.

Enjoy!
