Who is "We"?
Bill (who's writing this) chose this topic because fire and combustion have always intrigued him. But its definately not because he's a pyromaniac. Fire have always fascinated him because its a force that is both a creator and a destroyer: a paradox. He realizes that fire has enabled people to survive since humanity began, yet fire has claimed numerous amounts of lives. This phenomenon has to be held in check in order for humans to be safe. This leads him to believe that only by learning and understanding fire and combustion would accidents be prevented and lives saved. And c'mon. Its just too cool.
I (Nicholas Di John) chose this topic because I like watching things burn, and the science behind it intrigues me. It is related to me because I deal with fire frequently, since I am a boy scout and I cook sometimes. In the future, children should want to learn about this topic because it is such an essential part of life today. Advances might even be made by studying combustion. This topic is on fire!
