Haleiwa Airfield

Haleiwa Airfield April 27th, 1933

Aircraft on the field are B-6A's

Little of Haleiwa Field remains today.  The remains of the single runway that was paved during World War II can still be seen today but is severely overgrown.  Strangely enough, this tiny field which was never developed into a base of any real size, played a big role on December 7th 1941.  The story of this field will be added on this page very soon.

Undated photo of Haleiwa Field.  The runway, in the upper left, appears to be paved leading me to believe that it was taken during or shortly after the war.  The crash boat was stationed at Haleiwa to retrieve any airman who crashed or had to make a forced landing offshore.
