This is in the pyramid of Niuserre. The shaft here was a little dirtier and harder to navigate because in the ones that are open to the public, they have wooden steps and railings to help you along. The fine sand made it very slippery, and it was also not as wide or high as the others.


This is in the burial chamber. There are two sarcophagi, possibly one for his queen. This is Abdel, the guardian of the area who let me in.

It's hard getting into these things.


Not a lot of room either. I couldn't imagine being stuck in here for 5000 years.
