When Avi Dalfen was about three years old, Auntie Regina asked Avi if he wanted an ice cream sundae and Avi replied, "No ice cream Sunday, ice cream now."

At around the same age, he was sitting at the table with his parents, Hoda and Manuel, and he had the sugar bowl near him. Hoda told him to put the sugar bowl in the middle of the table. Avi replied, "Middle of the table, here."

Finally, also at the same age, when Zaidie (Morris Dalfen) would question him about a topic he wanted to avoid, Avi would say, "Let's talk about Kenny." Kenny was his next door neighbour.
