SNOW PICTURES
So, technically, I saw some snow flurries
in Knoxville, New Years Day, 1999. I had never seen snow in my life.
There were quite a few flurries, but no snow on the ground. One month
later, I saw snow on the ground in Chicago...but I had yet to see "real"
snow falling...and never got to play in it. Well, I finally did,
and it only took 26 years. What they are referrring to as "Winter
Storm 2000" was a 3-5 inch snow storm we got here in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
on January 27, 2000. Around 10:40 PM, I looked out my window, and
the cars in my parking lot where all white with snow, as many small flurries
fell from the sky. I wasn't the only person outside in the
streets looking at it...
This is the first picture taken, before the snow started really coming
down. At this time, I thought this was a lot of snow! It wasn't
till later that I saw, SNOW!
My 9 year old Floridian car, has never had snow on it before. I thought
that this was a lot of snow...man was I wrong. About 20 minutes
later I took a drive to a friends house, and there was zero visibility
out my back window and my hood was covered in snow...it was really starting
to come down around 11 PM.
By the time I got to Marlene's house, it was really coming down.
Her entire yard was white, every roof in her neighborhood was white...the
trees were covered in snow, as was my car! Some huge snow flakes
were falling!
Marlene taught me how to make a snow angel. There really wasn't enough
to make a snow man, but I made some pretty heavy snow balls!
Yes, I'm eating that particular snow ball!

I'm just..sitting on the wet snow...my butt was soaking....I slid down
her sons slide and around her yard...I threw snow balls at some trees,
and missed more than I hit...threw some at myself too.
Marlene and I infront of her house...it was coming down hard...a good 2
inches by now.
And to prove it, I stomped around and made foot-prints in the snow.

It was supposed to snow on through Friday, but when I woke up the next morning, it was raining, and the snow was gone. And we don't think it'll be coming back this winter. I'm glad I got up and saw it, and didn't sleep through it. I'm glad Marlene let me slide around her yard in the middle of the night like a MORON, and pounce her with snow balls...heck, I'm just glad I finally got so see, and touch real snow.
