Gore Vidal
Born: October 3, 1925, in West Point, New York
American novelist, playwright, essayist, and political activist. His father was an instructor at the West Point military academy. He is the grandson of Senator Thomas Gore. Vidal shocked the public in 1948 with his novel, THE CITY AND THE PILLAR, with its homosexual main character.
