They were
asked about what they thought about the comment Manson made
"that all 'good' art should come from a dark place, an angry
place, and that Hanson is too happy".
Tay: "Take a look at Marilyn Manson for a second, I
mean.."
Ike: "Of course he thinks that. That's who 'he' is, that's
not who 'we' are. There are definitely more serious, very
serious"
[gets
interrupted by Zac.]
Zac: "There's not *one* spot that music *has* to come from.
If it comes from a dark spot and it's good music then you'll like
the music but if it comes from a dark spot and it's not good
music then you won't like it"
Tay: "Everybody does their own thing and that's what makes
this whole music thing cool, everybody has their own view of
it"
Ike: "There's all kinds of different stuff on, like our
record for instance. Although people say it's a pop record,
there's definitely things like 'With you in your dreams' is about
somebody dying,
'Yearbook' is about somebody disappearing, and there's subjects
like that in life. It happens"
Tay: "It's gotta be both sides" gets interrupted by
host and on to next subject.
