"Halloween"

by

Jack Mann

Bad Moon Rising

On a dark dreary night

The witches on broomsticks

Make a scary sight

The cornfields are empty

The pumpkin fields too

It’s after the harvest

There is frost in the dew

Tonight of all nights

We go out in fear

Because of the evil

That seems to draw near

But in the beginning

It just wasn’t so

Tomorrow is Holy

For those in the know

We will honor the Godly

From way back in our past

The Saints in the heavens

It surely will last

They set the example

We all should live by

Not riding a broomstick

Across the night sky

Do we take this serious?

Or is it just a joke

The demons are real

Not a dream or a bloke

So All Hollows Eve

Is what this should be

Not something evil

To lie and deceive
