"AS I WALK"
by

Lisa Ferrer

As I walk through the park
I see children playing on the swings,
I hear basketballs hitting the cement.
Its so noisy!

I think about all the energy in motion.
If energy had color what color would it be?
As I walk through a garden
I see light purple and dark purple flowers.

I see dark green ivy and nicely cut shrubs
And I think to myself what beauty life brings.
If life had color,
What color would it be?

As I walk through a cemetary,
I see old stones, new stones,
Even graves with no stones.
I can hear the voices of the dead
Whispering to me in the wind.

Its a chilling feeling
And I think to myself
If death had color,
What color would it be?
