"WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN"
by Alice Catherine Bateman

Im grieving, for all the lost love in my life For all the dear ones who are gone For what could have been, for what used to be For all the times that Ive been wrong Im grieving, for not ever knowing That feeling that love will stay true The tears flowing from my eyes showing The loss from things I never knew Of course there is much to give thanks for And I do, every day, all the time But why is it so hard to just give me A love that will truly be mine What have I done, that I dont deserve love What have I done thats so bad Why must I always endure so much pain Why sit here feeling so sad Of course Ill feel better, and Ill carry on As always, as always before Ill go back to work, and Ill lock up my heart And not let anyone near my core 2000 ALICE C.
