The following poem is one of my own, dated about a year ago.

Waiting for the angel to turn

                                                      (For S.)

Pleasant thoughts before the fall
All your fears are set to music
Wringing hands which worry choke the soul
The glimpse of an angel whose flight brought this on
Waiting for the angel to turn

Everybody's laughter turns out dead at sea
Everybody's joy rings out like lies to me
And everything, you do it flawlessly
I look at you, but I see you do it lovelessly

Humming feelings of this love
All your pains are set to music
Howling voices whose words burn you whole
The trail of an angel whose spell brought this on
Waiting for the angel to turn

Everybody's cries sound like the silent trees
Everybody's lives walk past like ghosts to me
And everything you do, you do it perfectly
I look at you, but I see you do it soulessly
I'm just waiting for the angel to turn
